Another dude with inferiority syndrome spotted.

Flora Nwapa - first female (and best selling) author
Chioma Ajunwa - first female and single Olympic gold medalist
Rita Dominic - Presently the most awarded actress
Onyeka Owenu - first best selling female singer

We are ready for you anytime..... Keep it coming...
You know I can go on with the list but this argument ain't worth it. If I reply, then you reply and I reply again and the chain continues. At the end of the day, we'd have been arguing over something stupid. You should have read the reason for my reply; if you had, you'd see that I wasn't trying to compete with anyone.

Zaria the largest aviation school in africa? what kind of official stewpidity is this? why do nigerians tell shameless lies all in the name of making ourselves feel good? who wrote this nonsense? the largest and by far the best aviation school in africa is Ethiopian aviation academy which has facilities nigeria hopes to get in 50yrs time, then the south Africa aviation school in joburg must come far far ahead of zaria. if largest means empty ladmass then maybe zaria can be the largest empty Aviation school in the world. useless and brainless

Please (devoid of political colouration), your statement is insulting to the sensibilities of Igbo women suffering oppression. It is a rampant vice in general Africa.

Wrong! That was captain Hadiza, and she was the first female Nigerian airways pilot, not the first commercial pilot. It was notable being that Nigerian airways was the national airline at the time. Captain Chinyere Kalu is undoubtedly and inarguably the first female commercial pilot in Nigeria.

Was Nigerian Airways not using commercial pilots?
Were the pilots not civilians
and did some of them not join private airlines upon the inception of private airline service?

Sir, who among these women flew an aircraft first in Nigeria? Let us abrogate the dicotomy as to commercial flight, military flight, helicopter and Nigerian Airways. By the way, was Nigerian Airways not a commercial flight moving people outside of Nigeria or within Nigeria?

Captain Chinyere Kalu, first female pilot in Nigeria. The specifics of "commercial airline" was included to correct the erroneous info in the article that she was the first female fighter pilot. Nigerian airways was a commercial airline but not the only commercial airline. So just because Hadiza was the first female pilot to fly a Nigerian airways plane doesn't mean she was the first female to fly a plane in Nigeria. Do you understand now? Hadiza was still student in school when Captain Chinyere Kalu had been flying planes as a licensed commercial pilot.

Even your reference clearly states she was the first Nigerian airways female pilot. But are you too dumb to understand that being the first female employee of a particular airline doesn't make her the first female pilot? Do you know that there were other commercial airlines besides Nigerian airways? I'm trying to decipher whether your brain is still working or whether you enjoy showing off willful stupidity.

You must be an insane senile drunkard if you think flying a commercial plane is equivalent to flying a military fighter jet.

Good response and Many thanks. I never knew Captain Kalu had been licenced then. All we heard then from the news was that Hadiza was the first. Kudos.

How many lives are at risk between both? Combat or commercial?

Which of the two are used regularly?

Go and feed your hungry generations the humble pie - bloody idiot! I guess it is when a fighter jet drops a bomb on your head or dismembers your body into fragments with a 30mm caliber machine gun before you realize the magnitude of risks involved in flying it. Your comments have made it very obvious your brain is dysfunctional.

Oga you are the one who needs to calm down and eat humble pie.

You keep stating she was the first commercial pilot and you have provided no evidence to prove so.

Everything so far states she was the first female in the country to qualify as a pilot and fly a plane, that does not in anyway make her the first female commercial pilot.

Just like cars on the road, licenses differ. Because I ride an okada on the road does not mean I can drive a car. Because I drive a car on the road does not mean I have the right, licence or experience to drive a BRT or Dangote truck.

In most English Speaking countries a commercial plane remain flights available to the general public to get them from A to Z. They are a generally a minimum size. Private jets and cargo jets are not commercial planes.

I have a feeling you know this but you insist your erroneous assertion to be proved right at all cost.

VastfinderBlog:

Captain Chinyere Kalu was born in 1970. She is the first female pilot in Nigeria. A woman grew up in a very supportive big family. She decided to begin her career in Aviation because of her adventurous aunt. Her aunt was well famous for traveling abroad a lot of times. They had the matriarch in their family, so her aunt approved Chinyere’s decision and so a lady began her career into aviation.

The first female Nigerian pilot is Chinyere Kalu, who studied in Anglican Girls Grammar School, which is in Yaba, in Lagos. Then she was trained as a Commercial and Private Pilot. She also took a few aviation courses in Zaria, UK, and the USA.

Chinyere Kalu always wanted to travel the world and have an adventurous lifestyle. So she decided to take up the truly male dominated and very difficult career in order to become the first female pilot in Nigeria.

Nigeria first female fighter pilot is married to Mr. Okoli Kali and has children. 6 years ago President Goodluck Jonathan proclaimed her the Chief Executive and Rector of Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (which is mostly known as NCAT) - which is the biggest aviation training institute in the whole continent.

Before that, Chinyere Kalu was leading the College’s Flying School. There Chinyere Kalu worked as a contractual instructor.

this biography isn't complete without stating her roots. She is from Ukwa-East Local Government Area of Abia State and is married to an Ohafia.
