hello mothers, I am a FTM with a 4 months old daughter. I noticed a strange skin discoloration on the right side of my LO's face under her eye like 2 weeks ago with some kinds of rough patches all over her face and I wonder what it could be .its really a big concern for me because prior to this she had a wonderful clear and smooth skin. please,I really would like to know if anyone has any idea how I could get her face smooth again. everyone thinks I am being dramatic that her skin is just changing and all would fade wit time.but yesterday it seems same thing is showing up on the left side as well.
Cc all mamas please.

Sugah, knock at her gate and put on your best deprecating smile (that half smile, half grimace that looks awkward, like you want to apologise) and say "hello, I've seen you around, congrats by the way, these are some of the things my baby used and I wondered if I could SHARE/OFFER (do not use the word "Give" ) some diapers and formula with you. My son just messed up and never drank them. Would you care for it?"

Max, she will say "No". Nigerians and their silly pride about these issues. Never realising that acting like you're too good to for some stuff makes people NOT give you anything later.

Just realised, this is Nigeria: the religious angle will come into play and she may refuse it because "her pastor has given a prophecy about an upcoming demonic attack in the form of gifts from a stranger". I'm exaggerating but it does happen.

Personally, i would be offended if someone i didn't really know walked up to me and offered me diapers and formular before i put to bed.
On the other hand, if they came visiting after i ve had the baby and brought the items, i would appreciate it greatly.

Sorry about the pain dearie. You birthed three days ago right? Be religious with your sitz bath but please do not sit in or over hot water as it may dissolve ur stitches and lead to a breakdown. With time, you will feel much better. Pele dear. Welcome to motherhood.
thanks for the advice

The gifts havent changed neither has the person offering who is still technically a stranger.

If the person's intentions were malicious whilst you were pregnant they are not going to suddenly change for the better because you have given birth.

It is still just as "weird" a stranger waltzing into your living room bearing gift....

What is it in then first scenario that is offensive?

(Seriously Honest question, I am trying to see it from a different perspective here)

I think all vaginal delivery warrants it for one reason or the other not just due to tearing-during-birth.

I could be wrong never had one cos I did cs.

Same difference right?
It's not about any malicious intent for me.
In the first scenario, my 'mentality' (no, I do not have inferiority complex) would kick in. 'Ehn? So I look like a charity case to this woman? Madam abeg carry those things go orphanage' 'My husband's father is the cousin of the sister of the grandmother of the LGA chairman.

But in the second, I would think 'aww, nice neighbor came visiting bearing gifts'
The first time my neighbor ever came visiting was when I put to bed. And she came empty handed. When she put to bed, I visited too for the first time.

But that's just me.

The water should not be so hot as you cant sit in it. I guess the 15 mins is just a guideline... if if gets cool you can top up with more hotwater to make it warmer.

The general advise is to allow 6 weeks before any sexual activites. Some people heal faster and are up for some hankypanky sooner than others. Everyone is different so listen to your body.

Intercourse may be a bit painful or uncomfortable the first time, however there is no need ro suffer in silence... if it hurts too much stop and you can try again another time... remember that there may be scar tissue there that you need to get used to as well.

To promote faster healing a couple of drops of good quality essential oil in thr sitz bath worked well for me. You can use either:
●Lavender oil
●Frankincense oil
●Helichrysum oil (costs an arm and a leg but this one worked magic after 2 uses)

Good day mamas. Please I need your opinion on something.
I have some items that I want to give away (about 3 packs of newborn diapers and formula 3 tins of formula that my son rejected).
There's my neighbor (opposite my house) that is very pregnant and might pop soon that I'm thinking of giving the items to. Problem is, we don't know each other..IV only seen her about 3times coming back from work and we live in a 'mind your business' estate.
Would this be seen as a good gesture or might she be offended?

I would suggest you make it open to mamas in the preggy thread. Someone might really need those items there and would appreciate it more.

This happened at my DD's 14th week immunization. Went back to the hospital and was confirmed that it was abcess( they wanted to slit it open) bit said it wasn't ripe enough. She was prescribed antibiotics and I used cold compress on it.A lot of pus came out of it and It dried up within three days. I will advice you see ur paediatrician. What I see up there is pus- filled already

Looks like baby excema to me but I ain't sure. It's usually treated under the eela category. Some people recommend bathing the child with red acalypha leaves. I used the leaves and sebamed body lotion for my second son who had something similar

What's the hurry? 8 weeks is still early if I may say! Give it another month or so he will start attempting to sit up himself.

Like I always tell my MIL there's no one worldwide who isn't sitting today because he wasn't propped up by his mum or care givers! And there is certainly no prize for sitting early.
