fratermathy:Seriously brother it is pathetic, but is there anything we can do or a way to get NUC attention to the shameful state of things? |

fratermathy:Oh ok! Thanks. Someone must have fed me with wrong info. About the misconception I believe it would change when products of this priv unis start doing well in Industry. But for now I can only recommend CU, Babcock and ABUAD. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by sekeyso(m): 6:30pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
I think UNN should be on that list...can you imagine pg students are not allowed to know their results after exams, and worst still a particularly department have a case of missing result after one student had already convocated with the said missing result. Its really terrible here in UNN especially in sociology department. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by AmbodOfLASU: 6:30pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
GlorifiedTunde:False. Check the latest NUC ranking for the best State University in Nigeria. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by fratermathy(op): 6:32pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
AlMuflihah:To be honest NUC is not meeting up to expectations in regulating PG studies in Nigeria. I do hope that they see this post to know how bad things are. We can also start a petition to draw their attention to the plight of PG students in the country. |

| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by Nobody: 6:39pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
This article is spot on regarding the first institution mentioned. I'm running a PG program in OAU at the moment. It is not a piece of cake. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by phantomBBT: 6:47pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
You. Are. Right with OAU!! Did masters between Jan. 2011 to may 2014! They are hell of a Bleep!! Useless skool ![]() |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by itsmayiela(m): 6:55pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
OP, Benue State University should be top on the list. Imagine graduating from PG school in 2007 and original certificate is still not ready in 2017. So annoying.... |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by GlorifiedTunde(m): 6:55pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
AmbodOfLASU:What has NUC ranking got to so with this? You really wanna bank ob NUC reports? Then go get the analysis of accreditation of OOU and other state universities. Or help yourself by googling it |

Statsocial:u are still not making sense. U derailed the thread, simple. Stop trying to justify ur ignorance |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by GlorifiedTunde(m): 6:58pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
fratermathy:This is not sentiments bro. At least I am privy to the information in the school. Even though I'm a U.I alumni. Please show me your evidences. It is very sensitive labelling an institution wrongly please. |

Unibest..... aka. UNIBEN |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by sakbio(m): 7:07pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
This is a good write up especially the so called Oba Awon University, a lot of unnecessary thing such as filling and correction of form A-K, I ave bn asking question dt I neva gotten any answer, what is relevance of those forms to the award of msc or PhD rather than frustrating students, imagine only form A, u can use up to 3 months. The duration of master program in Oau, why 4 semesters when universities made their 3 and the lecturers wil intentionally extend it to 6 semesters, or advice to obtain another form. I pray they shud change, OAU need to emulate Premier university and Unilorin. Apart from all these, OAU is the best university for post graduate program, friendly sch fees payment, infrastructure, good library etc fratermathy p |

UNN Still d best. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by Draxler: 7:13pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
fratermathy:Trust me I'm doing my postgraduate programme in a public uni. Yes the fee is 150 but the other excuses they'll use to take your money plus the accommodation puts it on par with private universities in terms of fees. |

kometpuvo:God bless u bro. Unizik na the baba for delay |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by fratermathy(op): 7:23pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
GlorifiedTunde:1. OOU produces no more than 150 PG graduates every convocation yet admits no less than 1000 every session. What happens to the surplus? 2. All departments do not write PG exams at the same time and do not submit dissertations/theses or do defences at the same time. This shows that there is no order and strict adherence to PG calendar. 3. Many of the lecturers in the school have their PG degrees elsewhere, as obvious from their staff profiles. Why is it so? |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by ArcFresky(m): 7:25pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
FUTA, best school... My pg school follow calendar to the letter. Collect your certificate 2 wks after convocation.. Zero delays. Brilliant teachers. Love the school.. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by Nobody: 7:26pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
fratermathy:You didn't add FUTO. you can do MSC there for 6years and still be struggling and begging to be released. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by Richy4(m): 7:27pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
10 years doing masters degree? You guys are scaring the living day light out of me...Where in the world does that happen? |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by GlorifiedTunde(m): 7:32pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
fratermathy:1 is absolutely untrue. I don't know where you got that from 2 is correct, but presently within a space of two years there has been more uniformity 3 Very very true. And this is because a couple of years back OOU was nothing to write home about. But as at present, most of the non academic and a better number of academics are doing their postgraduate degree there. Mind you, I should also say that it is almost generic that people who work within a system, especially academics, prefer they do their PhDs outside the academic environment they work in. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by fratermathy(op): 7:36pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
Richy4:It happens in Nigeria but that is worst case scenario. The average duration for the terrible schools is 4-5years. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by HRHQueenPhil(f): 7:37pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
fratermathy:Once I get 2milion, I wil go to CU stay 18months. finish and carry my certificate |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by AmbodOfLASU: 7:38pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
GlorifiedTunde:LASU is the best state university in Nigeria - check all the rankings. More courses (Aeronautics, one of the best college of medicine and law, Dentistry, School of Transport). Stronger Alumni base etc. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by fratermathy(op): 7:41pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
GlorifiedTunde:1. Check the statistics of the last 5 convocations for each set. It's online. Just Google. What I can concede to is that things may be getting better (assuming). However I have colleagues from the school that are supposed to have graduated last year but are still stuck due to bureaucracy. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by GlorifiedTunde(m): 7:50pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
fratermathy:PGD? |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by mercylicious234: 7:51pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
kometpuvo:This school should be no 1 on this list. I have never seen anybody that concluded postgraduate studies in nau. All dropped half way, no matter how bright they were. |
| Re: Top 5 Universities With Terrible Postgraduate Programmes by gaetano: 7:51pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
As for me, I've done a thorough research and if I'm gonna do my masters in Nigeria it's has to be in either UNILAG or UNN. |
