...... And why cant the government appointee obey a simple order given to him by the representative of people he is supposed to be serving?... What kind of witch hang is that, is he above the senate? Is it not the senate that approved his nominatiom for the job?... I see no witchunt, I only see arrogance and insensitivity on the part of the Ali guy

I understand the unifrom as nothing to do with your performance but you ''Ali'' are heading a whole customs and every custom officer if on official duty should be on uniform just as it is stated in their act.

Mr Ali dont prove stubborn by claiming you are appointed to wear uniform. It sounds absurd... It is like saying am not made MD of a bank to wear suit!

How can a person whose appointment was approved by the senate refuse to honor the invitation and instructions from the same institution?

He is government appointee before any other thing. As much as the Senate is useless, the CG has loosed nuts in his head. You don't address lawmakers in that manner. It shows why majority of these folks are backward. You're in the number one person in the service, how then is it so hard to proudly wear your uniform?

It is a show of crass arrogance for the man to insist not wearing Customs' uniform. Again, this to me, is a show of lack of discipline which is not expected of a public officer.
To think that he asked if he was appointed to wear uniform makes one wonder if he was engaged in the military to wear uniform when he was in the military? And asking if it is the uniform that does the work or the man himself, is like suggesting that staff and members of the Customs service should not also wear uniforms since it is not the uniforms that do the work but the men themselves. May be our school children should not wear uniforms to schools since uniforms themselves do not study/learn but the students.
