Hello everyone! I have learnt a lot from this thread. Please I need your advice.
My fiance and I are getting married soon and we plan to process OZ PR. When he was in Nigeria,he got an offer from RObert Gordon University to do his BSC in Engineering but to start from year 3. After year 3 he was given his BSC cert which he went ahead to have a Masters in the Uk. I will like to know if he will be positively assessed by EA. He has over 10years work experience.

What accord does his degree fall under? Will he need to write a CDR?

Please help a sister

Your situation looks delicate. I had something similar, although direct entry to year 2. i mailed EA and they asked me to submit all my transcripts from the different programs during application. They also stated that the course transcript is what is assessed. Yours is 3rd year entry, you can mail EA to confirm directly to get a more accurate response. Here is their mail:

Please I studied Electrical Engineering (BSc) but I have 5 years of experience in Oil and gas servicing (Precisely MWD). I saw Electrical Engineering in SOL but Petroleum engineering has been removed. I know I am not a petroleum engineer but I want to be sure Skills Assessment Authorities will not think I am because I provide services to oil and gas companies. Also, I cannot see any occupation in the SOL that matches my occupation in the oil and gas servicing sector.

I will need to claim points for Skilled Employment and that is why I want this confusion cleared at this stage.

Please what do experts here advise?

Points breakdown so far: Age (30 points); English (10 points); BSc (15 points Not sure).

I plan to apply for Visa Type: Skilled - Independent (Subclass 189) (Permanent).

Congrats Vinsmuft

dmickdx:

my agent told me that Australia no more accept work visas from Nigeria..

There's really no agent that can help you get a work visa from Nigeria in the first place. So that they NO MORE accept is just a lame excuse to free you. Lolz

how else can one apply for a work in Australia...
I have assumptions that you are searching for an easy and or quick way to enter Australia. My advice is be patient and take time to explore the various temporary work visas on DIBP's Website OR consider this PR Route as you'll observe that it's not taking too long as before. Oh well, it also depends on your field sha.

All the best.

EA asseses primarily based on your undergraduate degree. The Masters can be added in support, but cannot substitute the undergraduate degree. In essence, you can go ahead in assessing based on your undergraduate electrical engineering degree.

Please I need advice if this will pull through. Am HND holder working with a retail supermarket as a manager but has worked in the bank before cos I actually studied Banking and finance and planning to apply as a Supply and Distribution Manager from Occupation List cos it fits my job right now. Please advice on what to do from scratch to finish. Note have gotten my transcript. Thanks.

The issue with your case is the occupation requires that you have a bachelor degree to get a positive assessment.
Since it is AIM that is in charge of the assessment, go to their website and read if they substitute 5years experience in lieu of qualification.

Result of IELTS of 4th March, 2017 have just been released. I had a near perfect score which recently expired. Surprisingly, my scores in this latest test is unbelievable, it is ridiculous. How can one go from LRWS 8/9/8/8.5 to 7/6.5/7/6.5 in just about 2 years? Please note that I lived in the UK for the better part of those 2 year period. "I'm not understanding".
Is someone there cooking up scores? If that is the case then IELTS in Nigeria is a scam.
Did you write your first ielts in England? From my experience, it seems the examiners in England are more lenient than those in Nigeria.

Hello everyone. I'm quite new here, I've been studying the thread for about 4 days now. I have some questions I would like to be clear about. I studied medical laboratory science ( it is on the CSOL and SOL list) and the assessing body (AIM) require that I send my documents for review after which if successful i'll be graded as medical lab technician and then invited to write an exam to be upgraded to medical lab scientist. ( the only venue for the exam in Africa is South Africa and I don't have that kind of funds). My questions are:
1.Medical Lab technician is on the CSOL list and the northern territory is sponsoring it.. Do I apply as a medical lab technician and if visa is successful. Write the exams in Australia to upgrade me to medical laboratory scientist?
