Tradition...
'i dont think i can even tolerate that Shivani girl any longer' Dike hissed 'she's such a spoilt ass'

Dora chuckled 'obviously she is. But she seems nice and the others like flocking around her, especially Chinny. She seems to have so much to tell people. And she's a friendly type'

'you all obviously dont see the demon in her. Thats girl's a brat. You cant believe she actually slapped....' He stopped talking. That was embarrassing! Did he just say that?

The amused look on Dora's face didnt do much to control his embarrassment 'did you mean she slapped you?'

'no, thats what i meant....'

Dora's loud laughter cut him off 'you cant be serious Dike! A woman raised her hands on you? And she's still alive today? Then there must be something wrong! Because it doesnt sound like you' She laughed again.

'i didnt even say she slapped me. You're just summing everything up and misunderstanding me'

'abegee! You slipped. She slapped you. What did you say to her? She must be a no nonsense girl for her to do such to you'

'Dora, okay, thats enough. We should change the topic' He shifted uncomfortably.

'Chinny must hear this!'

'dont you try saying a word of this to anyone, most especially Chinny, that rotten blabbermouth!'

'Dora dear,' Shiv walked to where they were seated at the garden at the back of the house. She glanced at Dike once before returning her gaze to Dora 'sorry for interrupting but there's someone here to see you'

'who?'

'a certain guy by the name of Frank'

'what the hell!' Dora sprung up immediately dashing out.

Shiv was somehow startled by the way she jolted out. She glanced at Dike again before turning to leave.

'you hold it there' he said immediately.
She stopped in her tracks and turned to him swiftly 'yes?'

'dont you think you owe me an apology? For slapping me the other night?' The look on his face was that of pure disgust.

'are you serious?' She raised a brow 'so after all the insults you meted to me, you still expect an apology from me? Are you kidding me?'

'does it look like i am? Or you want me to call your mother now and report everything to her? Or better still should i call my mother? I bet you wouldnt want that' He smirked.

'whats that? Are you threatening me?'

'does it look like i am?'

'well dear crownprince, it doesnt matter who you call or what you say, you aint getting any apology from me, except you apologise to me too. Because i think i equally deserve it'

'you know a woman's supposed to be submissive right? To her husband of course'

She snorted 'and so you're the husband we're talking 'bout here?'

'i used to think you're a quiet type. But obviously, i was mistaken. Again'

'again?' She raised an inquisitive brow.

'when i first saw you, i thought you were the type not moved by money or material things. I thought you were the natural type. But...you turned out to be same as the others. Even worse. Because you broke up with your fiance because you wanted royalty'

'how do you know about that?'

'how i knew is none of your business'

'are you spying on me?'

'i have better things to do than spy on a less reasonable person. Tell me now, how do you feel jilting your proposed fiance just because of money? Dont you feel horrible? Do you even have a conscience?'

Her heart thumped 'dont ask me questions that are none of your business you hear me?!' She turned to leave again.

'just a piece of advice before you leave. People say money controls the world but thats false. Money doesnt, love does. Love brings about happiness, not money. Not even royalty. You should learn to go for things that matter alot. Not perishable things. Just felt you should know'

***
'tell me why you came here Frank. What's wrong with you? Why didnt you call me?!' Dora fumed.

She could feel the eyes of Chinny and Adanna who happened to be the only ones around, on them.

'i tried calling you but you werent picking! I was damn worried about you. I couldnt help but think that that monster Dike did something to you, maybe try hurting you or something'

'dont you dare call Dike a monster because he's no monster, do you understand?!' She warned sternly. Then she raked her hand through her weave 'i mean, imagine the Lolo drives in now. What am i gonna say? Imagine Dike's not an understanding man, what am i gonna tell him? That my boyfriend came here to see me? Are you serious Frank? Who borrowed you this stupid idea?!'

'i'm sorry Dora. I was just scared and worried'

'oh please keep the concern to yourself!' She waved her left palm, then pointed at the door 'i need you out of here this instant. Get out of here!'

'what?'

'go before Dike sees you. Just take your miserable life out of here! And its over between us, do you understand?!'

'but Dora, i...'

'get out!'

'i said i'm sorry!'

'i'll call the securities if you dont leave'

'but i love you Dora'

'i dont love you anymore! You're so senseless. Out of my house this instant!'

I think she broke up with him because she is now seeing shiv as a threat so she feels jealous and feels challenged so she is now out to win Dike completely.

Tradition...
'that was harsh! Is that how you end your relationships?' Adanna asked, both hands on her waist.

'i never knew Frank could do such a foolish thing, christ!' Dora sighed fanning herself with her left palm as if the air conditioner wasnt enough 'coming here was a foolhardy thing to do! I was with Dike when that Shiv....yes! Where's that girl? How could she be so foolish? If she'd wanted to tell me Frank was here, couldnt she use coded words? Why did she have to say it front of Dike? Are you seeing what i told you? That girl is out to destroy our relationships with Dike! That girl's such a fool. Imagine Dike isnt an understanding man. What would have happened? What would i have told my family?! That my boyfriend came to see me here in my husband's house? Does it make sense? I'll deal with that Shiv girl'

'why are you blaming Shiv now?' Benita asked 'what has she done? The fact that she came to call is now a crime?'

Luckily, Chinny wasnt there. And Shiv too.

'are you even listening to yourself? Even if she wanted to call me, why did she have to say it in front of Dike?!'

'as if Dike doesnt know you're dating Frank. Dike knows. He's aware of it. So why the fuss?'

'there's a difference between knowing some other man's dating your wife and that same man coming to your house to see your wife. I dont even know if you reason'

'and i dont think Shiv knows you were dating Frank' Adanna said ever so softly 'she might have thought she was your brother or something'

'oh please spare me that!' Dora hissed 'she knew. Y'all underestimate that girl. She knows everything as you see her so. One day, she's going to expose every kro-kro in your armpits one by one. Keep exposing her'

'to me oo' Benita hit her chest 'Shiv has done no wrong. Because she just came into this house few weeks ago. She doesnt know how everything goes 'round here. And i dont even know why you dont like her. Because she's a very likeable person. And respectful. Unlike you'

'you said what?! Are you talking to me?'

'Dora, dont you dare try pick a quarel' Adanna warned 'because i've been keeping quiet about your act of disrespect doesnt mean i'm a fool. I, Benita and Chinny are you seniors. We were here before you. But all of a sudden you come here and you want to run the things that run around here, you want to claim superiority, Mrs know-all, that wont happen any longer. Even Chinny deserves some respect from you. You have no right whatsoever to look down on anyone simply because Dike favours you more than every other person here. Respect yourself Dora. And let your juniors respect you'

'oh so now you're preaching to me Ada? All this because of that new girl shebi?'

'dont bring Shiv into this matter abeg! Your own has become too much in this house oo. I'll seriously report you to the Lolo if you dont repect yourself, i swear' Benita said harshly.

Dora laughed clapping her hands 'anyway, i dont blame you guys. Shebi Shivan, abi na wetin be her name don blind una? Una never see something. By the time una see something, una eye go clear, una hear? But i still retain the thought that Shiv is to blame for my breakup with Frank and....'

'how is she to blame?'

They froze at the sound of Dike's voice as he alighted the stairs. He stood on the second to the last stair, then rested his body on the railings 'how's she to blame for your break-up with Frank?'

Adanna and Benita exchanged looks.

'nothing' Dora said quickly.

'funny enough, i heard all of your conversations. So you really think she did a wrong thing for coming to tell you your boyfriend was around?' He stared at her, his face expressionless.

Dora sighed and stood up, her flay gown stopping below her knees 'she just wants to let you know that i have a boyfriend outside marriage'

'but isnt that true? Dont you have a boyfriend?'

'Dike!'

'i dont even know why you're blaming the poor innocent girl for doing what she did. Remember you were the one who asked who the person was when she came to tell you? And then she said Frank. But what i dont understand is why you're blowing up. Because i certainly did not complain about your boyfriend coming here to see you. Might be that he was just worried and wanted to see your face. I'm not angry. Cool your nerves. And stop apportioning blames to thr wrong people' He came down completely and walked to the door, hands in pocket.

'Dike, did you just support her?' Dora asked, her brow nearly reaching her hair.

Dike stopped walking and turned to her 'i didnt support her. Just dont blame her unjustly. Because i was there when everything happened. And i know she did nothing wrong. You're just being paranoid for nothing'

'Dike, you're standing up for her!'

'how is that your business?' His voice rose now, he eyed her angrily before walking out.

'i said it!' Dora fell on the chair 'that Shiv girl has bewitched Dike!'

Tradition....
'ahhh...ohhh...aaah..harder baby'
Shiv didnt understand the noises she heard just as she was about knocking. It sounded like Mia's voice but why would she scream like that? Wasnt mother home? Was Mia perhaps....?

'yes baby...that way ahh!'

She decided against knocking and pushed the door open. She opened her mouth widely at what she saw.

Mia laid on the three-seater, legs widely spread and a heavily built man in-between.

'Mia?!'

They quickly disentangled. Mia was sweating profusely. The man quickly started dressing up. And within few minutes, he was out of the house.

Mia slowly slipped her legs into her red panties. Then wore her white gown which could pass for a blouse 'welcome' She said slowly 'mother isnt around though'

'what was that all about?'

'what was what all about?'

She pointed at the door 'the man that just left'

'oh that? Thats Jack, my boyfriend. Any problem?'

'are you kidding me?' She threw her purse on the nearby couch, then ran a hand through her hair 'is that what you do?'

'i dont understand what you mean?' She stretched her legs comfortably.

'you dont understand?' Her voice had raised 'what do you mean you dont understand? Didnt i just catch that man on top of you?'

'so? Isnt he my boyfriend?'

'are you serious?' She was dumbfounded. Was her sister really this way?

'you want to tell me you're a virgin? Or you never had sex with Choudhary or any other person before?'
