It is rare but there are cases like this, especially from younger members.
why is it rare? Don't your ladies date outside your order?

on a very funny note now, but very serious: do you have beautiful ladies among you? You know sometimes, when we hear of these 'STORNG MEN/WOMEN', like christians call you, its hard to believe you could also have very beautiful and 'round' ladies who are deeply commited to your path.

LOL. Very many beautiful girls and women. AMORC youths organise a conference every year at Calabar for us to meet each other and socialise. Typical age bracket is between 15-35. We call it Light Bearers Association Conference. We also organise seminars & other activities within our chapters and zones. We even have a FB group. There are quite a number of beautiful girls, I must confess. But the girls are mostly disciplined and well trained. Some have been in AMORC since they were 3 years old as junior order members. So imagine the knowledge about life that they have!

AMORC young members marry each other a lot. The few ladies that marry out sometimes end their membership due to husband's influence. There are also a minority that maintain passive membership even when married to non-members. I know a few of those in the latter category.

Ever heard of Rosicrucian colombes? If you encounter an ex-colombe who's a sorror (female member), you'd be awed and stand speechless.

In any case, like every other gathering, there are all variety and species of women. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!

Nevertheless, AMORC girls are beautiful. They reflect the perfection that reincarnation can ever birth!

why do you have the Egyptian art everywhere in your materials? it gives the impression you worship ancient egytian gods. the ankh symbol is everywhere in your prints. but you said you are not biased towards a religion.

Not all girls in that age brackets are colombes. Colombes are carefully selected and they form a separate unit of AMORC entirely. They are the most important lodge & chapter members of AMORC!

Once they retire around 16/17, they usually turn out to be the archetypal feminine beauty, character and brain! Among us, ex-colombes are highly sought after for marriage!

why do you have to specially select people? why are colombes (girls) the most important members of a lodge? what is the criteria for selection and dont you think that having some kind of.exclusive group is an evidence of apartheid in your organization?

i think the colombes dress like nuns in the catholic church.

A colombe is important because she represents purity, light and peace. She is an image of the lodge. She represents beauty and order. She has special roles to play in Rosicrucian convocations. She is the heart of the temple. She is the light of the lodge. A colombe's role encompasses all dimensions: physically, spiritually, mentally, etc.

Because of their importance, they are selected carefully by a colombe coordinator and well trained. They have to represent purity, beauty, intelligence, light, peace, etc.

It is not an apartheid, as you put it cheesy. Every girl CAN become a colombe actually. Just that the selection process is designed to get the best. If a girl has the qualities, including intelligence, she certainly can become one. No one will tell you that you can't be. Simply partake in the training and do well. Many girls who are not called to follow that path will fall out. Mind you, being a colombe is not very easy. You have to sacrifice your time, you have to be patient, you have to possess a good memory, the ability to "act", speak well, etc.

Above all, a colombe MUST maintain her "purity" as a lady throughout her active years because she represents the purity of God!

why must a colombe be a girl? Do you do sexxx ritual to demand that she be a virgin all through the time of her service as colombe? And why should it a be a girl that is the heart of your lodge, not a man, woman or boy, but a girl!

LOL.

We don't do sex rituals.

A colombe must be a girl because it has always been so. If you go back to ancient Egypt, Greece, Mesopotamia and Rome, you'll find semblances of temple girls who play important roles (such as the ability to purify the temple). These girls are traditionally required to be "pure" so that the symbol of their purity can be associated with the temple. This is a purely symbolic thing. A man, boy or woman has traditionally not done this in any temple. This role is left for the young girl alone. Even in the Delphic and Eleusinian mysteries, and the general Greco-Roman tradition, the "vestal virgin" plays important roles. What this portends is that AMORC is only keeping to the tradition of its forebears.

Mind you, we can have a temple without a colombe. We call such temples pronaos! So the role of a colombe may be done away with if unavailable.

I refrained from using the word "virgin" because not all virgins are "pure" and not all "pure" girls are virgins. So the emphasis on virginity is only secondary.

Try to read through this thread. Most of your questions have already been answered but I will try my best to answer them as briefly as I can.

What is AMORC and Who are they?
AMORC stands for Ancient and Mystical Order Rosae Crucis (Rosy Cross). It is a philosophical organisation which is committed to the transmission of arcane knowledge, propagation of cosmic laws and experimentations geared towards the development of man in all facets of existence. AMORC, in its modern manifestation, was started by Harvey Spencer Lewis in 1914. However, Rosicrucianism had existed since the era of Pharoah Thutmose III of Egypt where members gathered in pyramids and temples to share knowledge about the world and all its mysteries. AMORC operates like a university where students are taught various subjects including, but not limited to, reincarnation, karma, science, philosophy, mysticism, medicine, telepathy, meditation, laws of nature, spirituality, etc. Monographs on various topics are sent to active members frequently. AMORC is NOT a religion and as such members are not forced to believe in anything.

Where can they be found?
AMORC members are virtually everywhere on the planet! There is an AMORC temple in almost every town/city in the world. We maintain a very high presence in Nigeria. Our Nigerian headquarters is at Calabar. The worldwide headquarters is in San Jose, California. An AMORC temple is in almost every city in Nigeria.

Are they the organisation that use the phrase "in the light of truth"?
No. AMORC doesn't use that phrase. That phrase is the title of a book by Abd-ru-shin, the person behind the Grail Movement. The grail movement is a body of people that subscribe to the tenets of the book, In the Light of Truth. While the Grail Movement has correlations in its teachings with AMORC, it is different in its purpose, goals and doctrines.

Where do they worship?
AMORC is NOT a religion so the word "worship" doesn't really describe what we do. A member can study AMORC monographs from the peace and quiet of his home without ever seeing or knowing another AMORC members. However, a few AMORC members can meet in a lodge, chapter or pronaos to fraternise with each other and experiment with what they have learnt under the guidance of older members.

Do they believe in Jesus Christ as the son of God?
AMORC recognises Jesus as one of the illuminated beings to have existed. Since AMORC is not a Christian religion, and not even a religion at all, the focus on Jesus is very minimal and a member who is a Christian is free to interpret AMORC's beliefs with his/her Christianity.

Do they acknowledge the trinity?
AMORC doesn't treat Biblical theology or propagate Christian doctrines. AMORC members may personally believe in the trinity or any Christian doctrine if they are Christians but AMORC generally does not touch on religious theology except in exploratory terms or as part of one of its teachings.

Do they believe in the resurrection?
^^^ See above response.

Do they believe in the kingdom of God on earth?
^^^ See above response

hmm, that's what you always hear; that it is just their opinion and that their opinion does not represent the view of the order. But tell me: why would you and other members (older members) be so quick to say that it is just your opinion and not those of the order, even when you are attempting to 'demystify' your organization like you are doing now?

What is the view of the order on these things?

AMORC is an organisation with its official stand in issues. No one can categorically speak for AMORC. So as students, we can only attempt to educate others but it is imperative that people know that AMORC has not sanctioned what we say here. Although we say the reality and truth about what goes on, AMORC has not asked us to do so in any way. I can only explain AMORC's teachings and philosophy in the way I have interpreted them. My interpretation may be different from what AMORC intends to achieve. For instance: AMORC may teach about religion so that the student may be exposed to religious concepts and beliefs for intellectual purposes but the student may misconstrue this and think AMORC supports religion. If the student goes out to then say AMORC supports religion, it is the student's own opinion as a Rosicrucian and NOT AMORC's official stand as an ORGANIZATION! Only AMORC can speak for itself. All I do here is to answer questions in the way I understand issues, as a student of course. There are, of course, some already established AMORC official stand and statements on certain issues that bother on its purpose, nature, philosophy, teachings, etc, and I have already said these already. Whatever I say about AMORC that is not public knowledge is my own perspective of AMORC's teachings.

This is not an investigation.

If you want to know more about AMORC, you can always get a form and join or visit an affiliated body. I am not AMORC's PRO so I can only say what I know without divulging things that should make students subscribe to the order. If you want to learn, you go to a university, not Nairaland!

I have been as open as possible. I can choose to abandon this thread and not say a thing and that wouldn't change anything.

Why do you have Egyptian heiroglyphs and paintings all around your official documents? Doesn't that give you the outlook of being an extention of the ancient Egyptian religions?

IF you are an extention of ancient Egyptian religion, don't you think that it would be apostacy for the Christian to be part of an organization that has links to a religion the christian God drowned in the sea with all their "Ras", "Mas", "Sirs" and "Peis", if you understand my question?

There was no single Egyptian religion so when you use that phrase, you have to be specific on which of them.

That said, AMORC acknowledges its Egyptian roots. One of the earliest Earthly manifestation of the order was in the temples and pyramids of Egypt. However, it would be absurd to tie AMORC to any Egyptian religion because then you would also have to tie AMORC to Greco-Roman religions, Judeo-Christian traditions and even Oriental and Middle Eastern Religions. All these religions/religious traditions I've mentioned all have symbols, myths, beliefs, etc, that manifest one way or another in AMORC's teachings. Hieroglyphs are the only obvious ones because they adorn the pages of some of our materials. People from the other traditions who come across the teachings easily identify their symbols, myths, beliefs, etc.

With a Christian background, you'd notice so many teachings that seem to favour Christian thought. Should I then say Muslims can't join AMORC because of that? Of course there are also aspects of teachings that favour Islam as well.

Point being? AMORC is non-sectarian. Every person, no matter religious background, can harmonise AMORC's teachings with their lives.

Is the MediFocus compatible with Islam and Christianity? I mean: a thing you sit dow, cook up thoughts and send to a target for result, is not something the average christian and muslim would consider as godly; instead, he will see it as DEMONIC and he is going to have an automatic reaction to it.

How do you, Fratermathy, convince yourself, despite the way your church and fellow christians would see it, that the medifocus is something perfect for the christian to get involved in?
Re: Ask Me Any Question(s) About AMORC And Other Esoteric Organisations In Nigeria by MiddleDimension: 9:32pm On Mar 30, 2017
And how do you or would you respond to comments like: "oh, isn't it the catholic church, they harbour alot of occultic people and that this is because catholicism is satanic!

Do you think that your church habours more 'occultic' people? Why are there fewer protestants and even fewer pentecostals, if there are any, in your organization and other esoteric organization?

However the Christian and/or Muslim sees AMORC medifocus is subjective. All that is done is the projection of thoughts of love, peace, honour, diligence, truth, etc, to the entire world. This is no different from what Christians/Muslims do when they pray for the world.

Assuming that AMORC's medifocus is "demonic" logically implies that Christian/Muslim prayers are "demonic" likewise.

And one thing you seem to be amiss about is that AMORC isn't trying to woo Christians/Muslims so its philosophy needs not be compatible with theirs. AMORC has a wide membership base made up of people from various religions. AMORC isn't trying to make anyone feel better over another. If any Christian has a problem with meditation, despite its health and spiritual benefits, and medifocus, being the meditation upon specific positive attributes, then such a Christian is free to stay within the confines of the church and if already in AMORC, should stop doing any form of meditation or medifocus. After all, these things are not necessary to be members.

I don't have any data on the population of the various denominations in AMORC and it doesn't even matter because you wouldn't know. When taking up an AMORC form, you are not asked what your religion or your denomination is. You are simply asked a universal question: "Do you believe in God?"

If anyone believes the Catholic Church harbours occultic people, the person has to provide data to substantiate such claim. Not that it even matters. Is Christianity no longer a personal journey towards salvation?
