I'd like to make an announcement...
Starting from tomorrow, i'm very sad to announce that my updates would no longer be consistent as before. This is due to several factors.
My pregnancy which is almost due plus the professional/promotional examinations which i have to start preparing for.
I was supposed to write last year but i fell sick and wasnt able to write. Thats to say i was due for promotion last yr but i couldnt because of my illness. And this year, pregnancy. But i've talked to my superiors and i would be writing this yr. Because if i dont, its still next yr. And i've been due a yr ago. So i just have to write notwithstanding my pregnancy. Coupled with house chores and pregnancy palava. I dont think i'll cope very well.
So the updates wont be consistent anymore. Especially starting from tomorrow. Not that they wouldnt drop. They just wont be consistent. I just hope y'all understand.
Thanks for understanding,
Chumzypinky

Chapter Nine_Tradition.
Shivani fidgeted with her makeup. Her heart kept thumping. She was going to see her ex again.
Her heart didnt thump from excitement. It certainly was anger or fear. But she just couldnt express it.

Her phone rang 'babe, where are you?' Richelle's excited voice sounded.

'i'll be there soon Rich. I'm on my way'

'hurry so you'd be able to meet up for your mother-inlaw's birthday in the evening' Rich said and hung up.

Shiv sighed. She straigtened her knee-length maxi dress. She clearly remembered Choudhary getting it for her on those days when he wooed her. It was beautiful and she specially wore it today because of him.

A simple gold sandals laced her feet. Simple but exquisite. Her brazilian weave was packed in a messy bun, her make-up simple but beautiful.

She sprayed a generous amount of her Channel perfume, picked up a red Gucci bag and she was set to go. She stepped out of her room feeling nervous and shaky.

She stopped when she saw Dike coming towards her direction. She stopped and managed a small smile 'hi. Goodmorning'

'you too' he simply replied. She expected him to continue walking but he didnt. He continued staring at her. Shiv suddenly felt awkward. Was it that her clothes werent beautiful? Or was her gown short and indecent?

'where are you headed?' he suddenly asked causing Shivani to stutter.

'i...i...i'm...go...going to see a friend'

He stared at her suspiciously for a moment 'i didnt ask that though. I asked what direction. Because i'm about leaving for the office. I could perhaps, drop you off?' He stared at her bare laps again.
Heaven knows he would do anything to get a complete view of what lay above those laps. What was wrong with him anyway? Why was he feeling this way towards Shivani? Was it lust or him having feelings towards her? He just hoped it was the former.

Shivani shuddered. Had Dike just offered to drop her off? She quickly nodded without thinking.

'lets go. You look beautiful anyway' he complimented.

They went downstairs with Shivani silently hoping and praying that they didnt have to bump into Dora.

Her prayers were quite answered though when she saw Dora coming out of the kitchen just when she and Dike were about leaving the house.

'Shivani where are you going to?' Was the first thing that came out from her lips.

'none of your business' Shivani replied as quietly as she could. And as polite as she could.

'are you serious?' She arched a brow 'do you realise that we all have to prepare for Lolo's birthday party tonight?'

'i just want to see a friend. I'll be back before noon or latest by noon'

'thats none of my business. My business right now is that you cant leave all the preparations for us to do. We aint your slave. So i'd suggest you go back and drop your bag, change then come assist us in the preparations'

Shivani was totally surprised 'you cant tell me when to leave the house and when not to'

'Shivani, dont talk....'

'Dora' Dike called gently but sternly 'whats wrong with you? Let her go wherever she wants. You have no right to stop her. Afterall i clearly remember the times when you leave the house and dont come back till the next day. No one questions you. Why then are you questioning her? When did you become a questionaire?'

'Dike you're taking her side again!'

'i'm not. Shivani, go out and wait for me in the car' he said to her and she quickly left.

'wait for you in the car?' Dora gasped 'are you going out together with her?'

'so?'

'better not be Dike! What are you doing flirting with her?!' Her eyes widened saucers.

'what if i say i love her?' He loved the look on Dora's face. He was just doing all these for fun.

'you're joking!'

'i'm not' He chuckled and headed out of the house.
