Phone experts in the house, please I need a help here. I bought a Tecno camon C8 from a slot a few days ago. I checked the phone there to make sure everything is ok in order to avoid the story that touches humanity. I checked "about" the phone and it was 16 gigs as usual. when I got home, I wanted to share some files from my laptop to my phone, my laptop shows that the phone internal capacity is 4 gigs as against 16 gigs.
when I noticed this, I quickly headed over to my phone again to confirm my laptop's claim, I saw 16 gigs again. now, my question is, is it possible that those guys maneuver the phone or could it be that I have just been scammed?
And the worst part of it now is, that the phone is hanging, and not that I installed many apps in it. in fact, to be sincere, I have not even installed more that 2 apps in it. I have only installed WhatsApp.

Initially, I reset the phone to factory setting just to make sure every previous data is removed. after resetting, the phone is not showing
Tecno Camon C8 when connected to any system but rather displays "SO2_DA213" as the phone name.

I also tried checking the ram, but couldn't get where it's located, but when I connected it to my laptop, my laptop was showing 500mb. How could this be possible when C8 generally is 1gig ram and 16 gigs inbuilt memory?
please, I seriously need help. this is really getting me mad.

You've been scammed bro!! Return it before it's too late if it's not already. Install ES File explorer app, it'll show you the true capacity of your phone as against the one that can be maneuvered by the manufacturers.

I have witnessed two previous cases like this before, the first phone's storage capacity says 8gb internal storage but upon checking with ES file explorer it's actually below 300mb.

I also think the whole 16gb is unusable even if it's genuine, system takes half or almost half of the total capacity for app installations while you have the rest to yourself so it should be at least above 7gb if it's completely free

You've been scammed. Kindly return the phone I'm posting this comment with a Camon C8 and everytime is intact.

It's possible your laptop has some viruses or trojans (win32) which eat up your spaces and are responsible for the inaccuracy of the storage capacit of your phone... When you perform a factory reset, avoid connecting it to your own laptop and try sending files from another person's PC

If you follow the above steps and situation remains the same, it means you've just been scammed
