you Would have sounded modern yourself if you didn't ramble on like you were convulsing, yes you made a good point, which I wouldn't want to discount, but can you please tell me how having a pretty face translates to not having a choice on who to date?, or where it was stated that only pretty faces have the right to be choosy, and mean while I hope you are not among the hypocrites who condemn makeup and scream "inner beauty " to our ears and Still think unbeautiful women have no choice, that will not only make you hypocritical but a jack ass as well
This will be difficult.

Society is judgmental - wealth, beauty and fame are metrics.

Being ugly, poor or notorious will always be a drawback at least in today's society.
Be choosy all you want, it doesn't matter. Not all rights can/will be exercised after all.

HYPOCRISY is believing or vehemently proclaiming otherwise as opposed to the honesty of living the truth.

I care about a lot of things in a woman but that's none of your business. Rest assured that physical attractiveness is A TOP PRIORITY.

Please reserve the gutter language you are so proficient at spewing for your ilk on here.
God bless as you comply or not. smiley

but that should be a DM. who writes his account number publicly?
I don't want to believe she copied the account number earlier from the guy's phone
Bros, did you see the thread of a guy that played a prank on unsuspecting Nairalanders. People were busy dropping their details on pages because he promised 5k. Trust me, some people are not wise when it comes to social media.

Filter or not,she is beautiful. At 1st pix, she was in an event all made up and took a pix in black n white. She goes natural in next pix and haterz come for her. Generation with misplaced priorities and values. Her mind and values remains a light in this present day darkness. God bless her truly. Even if she borrowed the money to pay back the guy, it shows that she values herself.
I wish I could like this a thousand times. May wisdom never elude you. God Bless you for this!

since when did painting a true scenario of the way you communicate become gutter?, anyway I will ignore, let's not deviate, yes she is unbeautiful, but the only answer you gave to my question is "this will be difficult ", I never got a direct answer to any of my questions, incase you missed them, let me ask them again
1) where is it stated that only a pretty face has the right to be choosy
2) since when does having a pretty face translate to self confidence (please don't come up with that society this and that talk)
3) what's your take on women and makeup?, answer me according to the listed points

I was right after all. This will be difficult.

Your answer is woven in the previous post. I will be clearer though.

1)Not all laws are written down. Some of the most strictly adhered laws are unwritten. E.g. Acceptable behaviour in public.

2)Pretty face or not has little to do with confidence as do first impression. Especially when it comes to physical assessment. Ugly people will always be derided for their looks FIRST before we care to find out anything else about them. You and everyone else is the society. Sorry it can't be taken out of this discussion.

Believing all the new age " I am not a conformist" talks is practically self deceit. To not conform there must be a standard to rebel against. To rebel against a standard is to accept that standard as a pillar in your decision making process. To accept a standard is to conform to it notwithstanding the sense. This is purely logic.

3)I don't care what a woman does with her life much less her face but I am not rolling with an ugly woman both on and off makeup. Mutually exclusive.

well let me guess acceptable behaviour translates to dating a guy because you are not pretty by society standard and because he paid for the date? ,as I also expected you didn't get the makeup question either, or you are probably feigning ignorance about the uproar here
I also think you need to go take a look at make over photos before you talk, and I am glad you used the "I " word, so stop all this society talk, as you can see, not too many people feel the same way,so stop making your personal opinion look more like a standard, let me make the correction, the lady in that picture is not ugly so take note

Let's get this very clear, the guy didn't go on Twitter to rant because she was ugly, he went to Twitter to rant because of the money he spent on the date, so what has modesty got to do with this.huh

Apples and oranges.
Whatever was the initial story is not my issue.

"People judge others harshly on the basis of physical appeal." This is the topic in case you forgot.

Most people will prefer being with a presentable partner than with an ugly one and that's perfectly normal - my stance.

She was pretty after makeup = she's ugly.

I answered that question very succinctly in my first reply.
My standards are private but physical beauty is PARAMOUNT in my criteria.

the word "presentable " is relative, and I like the repetitive use of "my" in your last two statements, so no need to drag this further, thanks for your time

To avoid ambiguity
Presentable is definitely not ugly. There are recognisable lines between ugly, presentable and beautiful no matter how relative.

'My' standards or not, they conform with societal dictates. Its use is not as you interpret it.

You are welcome.

now let me ask you this final question and please I need a direct answer, after seeing her makeup and no makeup photo, would you classify the lady as ugly or presentable?

Ugly. I'm blunt like that.

Your signature says it all.

in your opinion, that hardly passes as the truth as your opinion based on this matter can be coined based on your spec which can make you form a biased judgement, which is why I said earlier that presentable is relative, hence the reason why the guy was more pained about the rejection and his money rather than her face, anyway bye

Ah sorry ma, but errm the lady in the picture is ugly oh. True talk.

But i'm not supporting the boy oh. What the boy did is bad irrespective of the beauty of the girl.

But the boy sef likes the girl as she is, the boy did not complain about her looks.

The internet is just unhappy that the boy got an L without clapping back. As the boy is dumb na. He still went on and apologized.

A lot of people on this thread disagree totally with your position thankfully.

Like I noted earlier, the back story lends little importance to the debate.

unhappy that what? if I may ask?, that she didn't have the right to turn him down because of her looks?cos this so called "Internet" became unhappy after this second photo surfaced online, and I am quite sure the age range of the so called "unhappy Internet " will be 23 down

I just did some calculations, and I am able to determine that Nigerians on twitter are so full of shìt. So people that are not ‘pretty’ should quietly surrender their self respect and take bullshìt?! That's Utter nonsense na.
That is just how dumb people can be, especially nairalandes. 99% of those who'd insult the lady for her looks might not even have ANYTHING going for them in terms of appearance, they might even be so ashamed of themselves they can't show us their own faces- yet, they insult others.

Smh.

If she knew she didn't want to date the guy why follow the guy out in the first place? Didn't she have an idea what the guy wanted from her? Whats the motivation if not the material gain? She is still a broke ass biitch. She probably borrowed money to repay him just to embarrass him.
Another silly rant. Only silly clueless boys (not decent well-adjusted men) expect a girl to fall into their bed after a date, or an outing. Or did he tell her from day one, that the date was just a prelude to making her his booty call? If that was all he wanted, why didn't he head for the nearest brothel?

LOL...at the dramatic change.

Since she wanted the spotlight, she could at least have kept up the facade

Yes, the guy was wrong, but i think publicly humiliating him was over the top (though he too stupidly posted on Twitter)

Buying a Rolls Royce and seeing a Kia engine under the hood.

grin grin grin
Hats off to the girl! She did well.... wink To every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The guy got what he deserved!
