Must you have to throw insults? Is that how you were brought up? Do you even know who the people on this forum are? You can state your displeasure on a thread without the insults.

What about the free accommodation?

Bro have you been there Or are you there??

Its never a pleasant condition

@OP.
You study computer science and you are looking for a job when you suppose to be creating job for others, every IT professional is automatically employed by default base on skill.

Most problem with you guys is attaching much value on your class of degree or çertificates insted of skill.

Being an IT personel should be an advantage for you than any other graduate out there because jobs looks for you, you dont look for jobs except you dont know what your doing.

Let me give you example.

I studied the same course with you but after my uni I didn't bother typing CVS or submitting application to any company, instead I went to design complimentary card using my house as an office address with my name as company name.

All I did is going to cafe. Business centres, small firms, and micro finance banks dropping my complementary card with an introductory letters to them on the services I am into.

While I was watiing to get calls. I enroll into some network certification programs utilizing my time to upgrade myself, with time I started getting call from cafe owners to come and do maintenance for them.

From cafe I started geting calls from small business owners and micro finance banks...not just the ones I dropped my complementary card with but also with referral contacts.

At a point some of this small companies started asking me to work for them on permanent basis, then they knew my value and know how much i will be demanding for a pay.

At a point i accepted to work with one company that is a contractor to an oil firms...

Guess what through them i joined multinational companies from one company to the other, i dont submit CV, no interview, no application and so on.

My last company was shell which I recently resigned on my own because I think is time to grow my own companies which I registerd years back.

People was like guy you get mind oooo resigning from shell....but is a decision I have to make to pursue my own dream.

No I run my own ICT firms doing contracts with Telecom companies and some Multinational...including the Shell.

I now makes my monthly salary in less than one week.
So my brother stop waiting for company job you have the skill already, those boys in computer village most of them don't even know how school looks like but believe me they are far better than most Computer Engineering graduates.

I now employs workers no the other way round.

So use your skill and dump the so called Degree.

Thanks.

After making a distinction in national diploma computer engineering from a federal polytechnic the future looked as bright as laser Light..
With much enthusiasm and believe i proceeded to apply for direct entry into one of the Universities of science and technology to also pursue a degree in engineering..
As a result of the delay in the University admission process that year i couldnt wait till i was enlisted for the degree program so i applied to further with my higher national diploma in my former school. The Hnd admission came without delay and luckyly for me the admission with the University also came along and believe me i took both as a challenge and went through them successfuly..

Due to the gap between the two admissions i was able to run them concurrently. At This point no youth in nigeria could be assured of a brighter future than i was..

Again i made a distinction in higher national diploma and a second class upper in my B. Eng... All in computer engineering.

Mobilization for NYSC came through first at the polytechnic so i served with my hnd and with a distinction i was posted to a federal university... What other assurance do i need for a brighter future ahead...

DAYS OF AGONY

with a month to the end of my service year i already had my CV, cover letter and i was prepared to go out and showcase my abilities.
April 14th 2016 i was so happy to drop the khaki and the jungle boot and with a happy heart i headed home..

Firstly i started with the online applications and after some months i started submitting hard copies from company to company..

After six months my family started showing signs of being human after all and i tell you this is the quickest invitation To depression.. In two weeks from now, it would have been a year sadness, dashed hope and ofcourse loneliness.

To cut story short i am beginning to think that education, sound result, qualifications, and the promise of a better future via academics is just a mere mirage..

This days i find it difficult to let people know i am a graduate... They get to find out them selves later and the sorry face they put up is a killer to my self confidence

Borrowing airtime from mtn, cutting my hair twice a month, trekking has become the Best means of transportation, laughter has become ostentatious, the worst is i no longer attend church services cos my regular appearance in same clothes is making Me an officer...

I need help but hey suicide has never been an option and would never be... I know it wont be like this forever but who knows where the help can come from.... I speak english Yoruba and igbo fleuntly... And i dont mind relocation as i am available for Immediate consideration

My brother i feel for you and millions of youth out there,Life has never and will not be fair,People will tell you that the country or the world "don" spoil but to tell you it has always been like this and its only the tough that will always scale through,I graduated in 1999 with a degree in Electrical Engineering,i was so good that i taught immediately i graduated that i will be employed without problem. After service months continue to roll on top of each other and nothing was forthcoming, but for the fact that i was focus and determined i got something after two years of waiting.Later as if i did "juju" in one month i had offers from shell, nnpc, intercontinental bank and one other coy like that.i chose one and here i am today. So please life race is not fair to quitters and committing suicide is a crime in the presence of god.Your day of testimony is short by one today,so dont give up

Your situation is even better than mine. I didn't allow my being physically challenged hinder me from graduating with a second class upper division in accountancy, having a Master and crowning it up with an ACA qualification. I have been unemployed for 9 years till date. Isn't that more than depression?

Your success lies within you. I want to couch you and bring you out of your situation highest 3 months from now.

You need to write down a confession. Something you read aloud to yourself everyday. Being successful is not even a permanent state. Successful people still have hurdles. I still applied these principles severally in life to obtain positive results.

Reply me with a positive comment then i will give you my whatsapp number. You don't need to meet me.

With my B. Eng Degree in computer engineering and an outstanding distinction in higher national diploma (HND) also in computer engineering, Working as an IT executive, customer representative personnel, and a general executive assistant would be like doing what i know how to do Best.
Computer engineering, internet protocoling, troubleshooting, networking, interfacing between client(s) and company via any information communication technology platform (customer care / representative) and many other ICT operations are always Hobbies to me as i am also good with figures.
As a graduate of both a federal polytechnic and a state University, having distinction in both my OND and HND respectively (all on same course), I am bold to let you know that i am well equiped with knowlege either on operations, repairs, trouble shooting of electro-mechsnical devices.
Am also a passionate learner who pays close attention to the most minute of information, have flair for problem analysis, making objective decisions and with a great influencing personality which was gotten from my being a one time welfare director to the students' union government.

Notice: This is a cover letter statement u' ve just written here. Don't do this again cos u never know who is reading. its not about copy and paste but about understanding what you know and how u can put them down in ur own words. If i was recruiting, i may not consider ur cover letter cos there are many others that looks exactly like this and still have a lot to axe out.
It would have been better if u use bullet points for the sake of this forum. Just bullet point what u can do. And for ur cover letter, make a brief introduction of urself, what you know and how ur expertise will add value to the organization.

Never mind its just an observation. Best of Luck bro. wink

what more can I say? All the sun in Abuja find shade on my head. sometimes I walk until I ask myself "o boy where you de go".
Worst of all I stay with my uncle and some protocols are observed. With my 2.1 Accounting degree, I regret spending all those days in school thinking future is bright. I don pray and fast it seems God is silent but Man has to hold on to something greater which is God.
All the same, future is brighter, I am considering quitting Job hunting very soon and starting business of any small capital.
My bother, no worry. Things will get better; suicide is not my option because if I do that plenty people for my house go join. So I believe God is set to do something miraculous not just soon but very soon. Delay is not denial................
It is well.

This is why i advise my students, or any group of participants in any seminar i give talks, to always look beyond d 4 walls of books n hv an eagle eye into d world n future. My definition of Myopia is seeing ur nose n thimking d world ends there

A caterpillar in d bud should always know that time wud come to take on d waves of d winds.
U cant live for d now. Cos d sch is just a preparatory ground for d rest of ur life.

Intelligent students know that it is not all about books , clases n crib.
They develop a skil /sets of skills even whl in sch.

Yours truely never lived like a student in school cos he had a skill dat was paying good n was doing that @ his leisure time.

Op, n here u r again, repeating same mistake u made in school ( all books no future plans) by begging for monthly fish.

Think, u r too loaded , handy than to be seeking 4 a job. Stop carryin cv, look arround u, seek out a problem n provide a solution, money wud come

Baba I will tell you one thing, keep pushing, its going to be fine soon. Don't give up hope.

Don't let depression take over neither should you allow negative thoughts gain access into your life.

Keep fighting and praying. Don't look at the height your mates have attained, don't compare yourself to others who you think are better off than you are.

One day your HELPER will locate you and your SUN will shine.

This is what I tell myself every morning and this are my words to you.

Get the address to a Top Government official in your vicinity, check around you, you will definitely see One. except if you're in a very remote village which I doubt. see Gather yourself go meet him OR Her, what you really need at this point is a strong determination and confident (joblessness can make you do the unthinkable aswear!) the gateman won't dare to stop you, he will thought you have a very important meeting with oga or Madam. My brother if na to cry self abeg cry cheesy if the tears no gree come out, please force crocodile tears. Note this should be done when explaining your ordeal to the Government person, I can't guarantee you it works 100% but take it from me, I have done it and it yield positive outcomes, I have since established a contact with this Government guy and constantly receives update as any moment my situation gonna change for better hopefully.
Wish you the best.
