My oga AwesomeJ and Unite4real I salute una and God bless una for me. Nice one

awesomeJ:

The next auction after April 12 is May 10, that's if you must buy at the primary market. The available bonds for this quarter are 14.50 FGN JUL 2021, 16.2884 FGN MAR 2027, and FGN APR 2037. You will choose whichever of these 3 you want. They will all be reopening bonds after Apr 12. Each bond is referenced by the names listed above.
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by battleaxe: 3:58am On Apr 07, 2017
Note that the minimum investment amount on FGN bonds is 50,001,000.

Not sure if the banks have found a way around that as well for their customers.

Thanks a lot. Now I understand better.

Your interest 8,232 is for 3 months.... Multiply it by 4 to get the annualized interest that would be 8232*4=N32,928 now divide that by ur principal amount invested.....32928/250000=0.1317. That is 13.17% ...Hmmmm not bad for 91days ....Very close to the rate of CBN.

I think you got a very good rate with Stanbic IBTC. The deduction there is at the rate of about 17.2 which is what CBN gave as posted above by Feelamong. The remaining balance of about 62k left in your is the interest paid upfront for your borrowing to government for 182. In 182 days time(@ maturity) your whole 600k will be credited back to your account.

Some banks use the approach of first debiting you with the face value and then crediting you with the discounted value. Stanbic does not use this approach. They just debit you with the discounted value(Face Value - Interest Amount).

Yes, this evening from stanbic, I think about 18.3 % or so. Please what about the certificate? When can I get it

I did with them too..I think it's about 13.39%. I do not bother about going to get the cert this days since I have the transaction notice. About getting the cert (investment advise), some of the banks will call you to come for it. others won't except you go there and request for it. You can go to the branch you invested to get the certificate anytime next week.

Please don't go bother them, else you will look down on yourself for not understanding that interest rates are per annum

I just contacted FSDH, they confirmed the availability of the new APR 2037 bond next week, but they said you'll need an account with them to bid through them, and you need a minimum of 50 mills to open an account with them. Check out the other PDMMs here, then try contacting some of them to see who helps.

You need to ask people what buying keke marwa and giving it to somebody to drive has done to them. The same with opening a barbing salon, provision shop, buying bus and giving it to a driver etc.

Btw, risk free is investment done with rest of mind. The gains might not be that much but there is peace and rest of mind.

Did anyone bid with First Bank during April 5 TBill Auction? Either 182 or 364 days? I want to know if I should consider using them or move my cash to IBTC against next auction in less than 2 weeks.

Thanks house!

Good morning house,
I am a bit confused on a treasury Bill investment of N646,000 @ 18% for a tenure of 364 days and back end interest(at the end of the tenure) the investor quoted custodian fee at 0.1% and transactions fee at 0.025%. At the end of tenure, face value =N758,000.
I applied known formula onTB calculation and couldn't arrived at the effective yield offered by the investment firm
Thanks
