Note that the minimum investment amount on FGN bonds is 50,001,000. Not sure if the banks have found a way around that as well for their customers. |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by freeman67: 8:35am On Apr 07, 2017 |
detholar7: I think you got a very good rate with Stanbic IBTC. The deduction there is at the rate of about 17.2 which is what CBN gave as posted above by Feelamong. The remaining balance of about 62k left in your is the interest paid upfront for your borrowing to government for 182. In 182 days time(@ maturity) your whole 600k will be credited back to your account. 6 Likes |

detholar7: Some banks use the approach of first debiting you with the face value and then crediting you with the discounted value. Stanbic does not use this approach. They just debit you with the discounted value(Face Value - Interest Amount). 4 Likes |

Happyfellow147: I did with them too..I think it's about 13.39%. I do not bother about going to get the cert this days since I have the transaction notice. About getting the cert (investment advise), some of the banks will call you to come for it. others won't except you go there and request for it. You can go to the branch you invested to get the certificate anytime next week. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Happyfellow147: I just contacted FSDH, they confirmed the availability of the new APR 2037 bond next week, but they said you'll need an account with them to bid through them, and you need a minimum of 50 mills to open an account with them. Check out the other PDMMs here, then try contacting some of them to see who helps. 1 Like

Alikote: Have you ever heard of risk free?. MMM was paying more than this your keke marwa. Don't you think it is better to go for that than keke marwa? 2 Likes |

NL1960:nope mmm was not and is not business he rather establish a small scale business with the 600 k thank tb that will generate 8500 monthly ..this his tb peak season some year back 364 was like 9 percent .he can open up a barbing salon, provision shop, marwa, etcit will generate more fund u can even insure the marwa @30 k peranum he he had 6 m in tb he would have got 510,000 for 6 month that when it make sense 85 k monthly unless he just a student learning several investment instrument |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by NL1960: 4:42pm On Apr 07, 2017 |
Alikote: You need to ask people what buying keke marwa and giving it to somebody to drive has done to them. The same with opening a barbing salon, provision shop, buying bus and giving it to a driver etc. Btw, risk free is investment done with rest of mind. The gains might not be that much but there is peace and rest of mind. 5 Likes |

Good morning house, I am a bit confused on a treasury Bill investment of N646,000 @ 18% for a tenure of 364 days and back end interest(at the end of the tenure) the investor quoted custodian fee at 0.1% and transactions fee at 0.025%. At the end of tenure, face value =N758,000. I applied known formula onTB calculation and couldn't arrived at the effective yield offered by the investment firm Thanks Cc....feelamong |
