On her grade, among all of us that made second upper in my set, the only guy who has been conferred a SAN is one cool dude that graduated with a third class.

2.1 is good, first class, even better but 2.2 and third class could also happen to anyone, we never know the circumstances upon which some people managed to come to school, survived in school and managed to graduate.

When I become an employer of labour, certificate will be my last and least criterion for recruiting the best hand.

Haven't u heard the conventional education system of the world is failing.. Unlike that of Finland, for instance.

You can't judge pple based on their grades.

I can't even start waiting words on you. No curse left in my bank. But u are backward negative and the stench of ur ignorance is surprising.

Been out of school for 7 years.. (on my 3rd job) I can tell u nobody dwells on the issue of grades past the interview stage, and many jobs do not go through that stage if they need what you got to offer.. There is a meeting and kaboom.. U have the job.. Credentials are submitted for just official reasons.

I think a lot of students miss it in JSS 3. One wonders what the guidance and counselling unit in secondary schools do.

Everyone wants to be a doctor or lawyer or engineer when of course there are lawyers roaming the street and their are lawyers who don't earn more than 60k working for those firms in lagos island.

The bottom line is finding ones passion and pursuing it.

But is not when you have a first class degree and you cnt construct a story like the lady...or u get a job as a first class holder with a 100k salary for 5 years. If u aren't aware.. Fortune 500 companies hire poor graders.. Because these set of pple hate due process and procedures, they often bring some good options, shortcuts, ideas to the table.. And that might be the idea the brainiacs cannot phantom. And it might just be what the company needs to boost itself.

So ogbeni , Nigerians are the most read blacks in the world, with the finest degrees.. How has that changed the horizon back home?..
India is poor too , they have bad governance also.. But they don't care much for certs over what u can bring to the table.. And they are clearly leading the way.

It is because of this dark mentality of getting a good certificate for employment that is making poeple to buy first and second class certificate and at the end, when they are given the job, they mess up everything and the nation pays for it. If you cannot study biology and come out with good grade, is it medicine you will study and come out with good grade? They will just withdraw you from the course.



I'm currently studying a course I didn't apply for and it is even more difficult than the course I applied for and guess what? I'm in second class upper, its all about determination. How can you encourage your children to read by telling them you graduated with third class? Anybody can be self employed, but there is a pride attached to good grade, a self fulfilment.

We won't all work in an organisation. And making a third class doesn't end life.
Grades don't determine life after school.

Well, you made third class and you are succeeding in business, good for you. However, I would encourage every student out there to strive for better grades. Leave all that doesn't matter during your school years and concentrate. There is a time to learn......those with better grades ain't got 20 heads.

i disagree. I graduated with second class upper division. my target was first class but, along the way, i developed interest in music production. I had the best grades in my first year. thing is, I lost interest in my course of study (computer science) and focused more on learning how to compose music.
I'm happy that I followed my heart and things are going well for me.

My former boss has a first class in economics and i have a second class lower. However, whenever he was issued a query from head office , I usually answered the query for him as he certainly do not know how to put his thought on paper. To add to it, since the bank asked us to go home, he hasn't been able to use his head to think of what to do to help himself. But look at me today, even before the bank asked us to go, I was able to use my brain and created some really good stuff for myself. What matters is the brain, not the paper.

Am not saying third class is a good grade but if you believing you have hope of making it in life more than third class graduates, you are kicking your ass by yourself...let me tell you, in the western world, nobody cares with what you graduated with...once you are done with the courses and the university awarded you with the certificate....my brother, you can apply for any job and and compete for anything within your field of interest....the problems with Nigeria is the little jobs available are for millions applicants...you have to wake up from that sleep now.

Gbam. Which first class are we talking about self? First class from Nigeria universities? Those things are mere rubbish being given to those who can cramm very well . Look at most of them after school, they don't even have the ability to think. Good students graduate with low grades in Nigeria because they tend to make some difference by not just memorising what they were told in school and pour them back to their lecturers . I'm a witness.
