Doors close doors open by Ian Rankin

A soon to retire profesor fools a rich bored millionaire and a ganster into stealing art from the galary, where he curates. He then disappears into thin air.....the two fools are hunted and caught. Millionaire regrets because he knows he could have bought instead of stealing.

It ends with the prof soon to open the door for a stranger, I personally belive is interpol.

Funny how he decides to hide in Africa.....
