Abandoned Domino Sugar Factory, Brooklyn, New York


The Domino Sugar factory in Brooklyn, New York, was the original refinery of the American Sugar Refining Company, that produced Domino brand sugar.

It dates from 1882, when it used to be the largest sugar refinery in the world.

But in 2000, the refinery witnessed the longest labor strikes in the history of New York City.

Over 250 workers protested their wages and working conditions for twenty months.

As a result, the refinery stopped operating in 2004, after running for 148 years.

The management should have tried more to keep this company in business. I'm sure they would have seen the signs but couldn't change the outcome. People would have been talking about it like coca cola and the rest.

Pripyat, Ukraine.



The city of Pripyat was established in Ukraine, close to the border of Belarus on Feb. 4th 1970 as a Soviet nuclear city.

It was a residential to the workers who worked in the nearby Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

But in 1986, the nuclear power plant faced a disaster, more popularly known as the Chernobyl Disaster of 1986, which led to the evacuation of the entire city.

Priypat, thus, remains a radioactive ghost city haunted by the nightmares of that dreadful night.

This is the reason Nigeria must not go near nuclear energy until we have trained and competent personnel to manage it. The energy from it is great so is the disaster when things go south.

There is not much for recorded history about this place, but one thing for certain is that it is one of the creepiest abandoned places.

With disassembled doll parts everywhere, this place is something out of a horror movie.

It looks like chucky's ancestral home.

At first glance, this looks like a nice and quiet neighborhood that any family would love to live in.

When you look a bit closer, you’ll see that these houses are not occupied, nor have they ever been.

Ireland has lots of neighborhoods that were built up, but after the housing collapse in 2008, these homes were never sold.

Although no one has ever lived here, it is creepy to walk these empty streets.

If it's Nigeria people will still live there o. They will not mind building collapse. People live in wooden houses in the creeks so this one will be like living in a GRA.

Poveglia Island, Italy.




Poveglia was constructed on a permanent fortification built by the Venetian government, and from 1793 - 1814 was used as a plague quarantine station, or“lazaretto” one of many in the Venetian lagoon.

The tiny island is said to have hosted over 160,000 infected souls living out their final days and hours on the Island.

50 percent of the soil consists of human remains.

Recently, mass graves have been found on the nearby islands containing the remains of thousands of plague victims.

Poveglia has yet to be fully investigated.

Tangalooma Wrecks.



The photo actually shows the Tangalooma Wrecks in Queensland, Australia.

The 15 boats were intentionally sunk back in the 1960s to create an artificial reef and harbour for smaller boats on the island.

Abandoned mall in Bangkok, Thailand filled with Tilapia.



A mall in Thailand that used to be awash with shoppers is now teeming with fish after the abandoned building was flooded.

The New World Mall, in Bangkok, was closed in 1997 after it was found to have breached building regulations, before a fire in 1999 left it without a roof.

Rainwater slowly filled the building with water, causing a major mosquito problem in the community.

In an effort to rid themselves of the pests, the locals introduced freshwater talapia fish to eat the insects.

The fishes can be seen in hundreds.

It was a Japanese theme park inspired by Disneyland in California.

It closed in 2006 due to declining visitor numbers.

Kolmanskop, Namibia.



Kolmanskop was a very small settlement in Namibia that suddenly grew and flourished in the early 1900s when German settlers found the area to be booming with diamonds.

But, eventually, the craze for wealth gave out after World War I when the diamond fields began to deplete.

By the 1950s, the town was completely deserted, and is now visited only by photographers and tourists.

Yea I watched a documentary on National Geo Wild, Hyenas and other animals now occupy the buildings and surroundings.

These photographs, captured at Benin City Airport in 2005 and 2010 respectively, are a good example of those scenes.

In past decades, Nigeria’s airports have become the final resting places for passenger aircraft whose operators have gone out of business for a variety of reasons, or simply put them out to pasture.

These images reveal the former Okada Air fleet of Boeing 727s and BAC-One Eleven 300s.

In one image, 17 of the 18 BAC-111s acquired by the Benin City-based airline can be seen rotting away in a neglected corner of the commercial airport.

With them is a larger, US-built 727, lingering on in an equally poor state of repair.

This is the world’s largest airplane boneyard, where the previous aircraft bodies from the US Marines, the US Navy, the US Army, US Airforce and the US Coast Guard now ‘lay to rest’ for scrapping, recycling or historical purposes.

Prior to the Turkish invasion on Cyprus in 1974, this was actually the most important airport in the whole country.

Today it is a no-man’s land, a United Nations buffer zone from which both Greeks and Turks are barred.

Johnston Atoll Airport, USA




Johnston Atoll Airport is one of the most historic abandoned airports in the world.

Imagine trying to land a plane here!, Johnston Atoll Airport is a small atoll situated several hundred miles south of Hawaii, in the Pacific Ocean.


Built on a small island, it housed 400 men and had an underground hospital.

Attacked by Japanese submarines in During WWII, it now lies in ruins and abandoned.

Cant even explain why they shut amusement parks in highly populated places like that, there are lots of them around the world even the in U.S.
