We get so comfortable and relaxed in our marriages that we dont get to see the signs when things start to fall apart. We get awaken by the delivery of divorce papers. We need to pay attention to the health of our marital relationship and pick up any symptom before we are caught unawares. Here are eight signs outlined to check if your marriage is in trouble:

You no longer play or talk to your spouse: You share the same house and room and yet you have nothing to say to your spouse.you dont even have fun or do interesting things together again. Yes some older couples can be silent because they are used to each other and are comfortable in their silence. But when this silence bring about a loveless atmosphere, then something is wrong.

constant criticism from your spouse: if you partner is always picking on you and you can no longer do right in his/her eyes. Maybe it’s time to ask if there is any issue you guys should address

You are the last person to know: if your partner stop sharing his/her personal information with you and you only get information from second or third-hand sources, like your partner’s co-worker or neighbours of your partner’s parental home, then something is wrong.

Not taking care of physical appearances : New couples take care of their appearance but as the comfort level increases in a marriage, they become more relaxed about the need to look “ perfect ” for their partner. However, if there is a sudden sharp decline in matters of appearance, it could be because your partner no longer cares whether or not you find them desirable. This means your partner is not happy.

Using distractions to avoid real issues: if your partner is using distractions to avoid dealing with relationship issues like constantly watching of television, playing music,or constant reading of newspaper it means your marriage may be in trouble.
You both need to cut out the distractions and focus on your relationship.

You keep arguing about the same issues : if you are always arguing about issues and can’t resolve issues on your own, then its good you engage the help of a marriage counsellor.

A lack of trust: If you find yourself constantly doubting your partner’s whereabouts, or if your spouse suspects you of infidelity, clearly something is deeply wrong in your marriage.

There is no longer any intimacy in your marriage: if you find that you both have stopped snuggling up to each other, you no longer give your spouse a passionate kiss, or you no longer desire your partner for sex, it is because a growing physical distance between spouses is intrinsically related to a widening emotional gap.

Take heed of the warning signs and if you do find them in your marriage, do not waste any more time get down to resolving all pertinent issues.
