So explaining to them at the POE that was done to cut cost given how much our leaders have bastardised our currency does not suffice?

Anyway, the officers better be economically sound.
My opnion: No matter the questions that are asked, issues will never arise if there's no illegality. It is not a crime for one to pay for another's ticket. It is a crime however if the payment comes from a stolen card.
If you trust your uncle to actually buy the tickets AND without any funny stories , no ish. Every truth can be verified. Bank transactions leave traces ...

Thank you for making it clear oh. I was about saying when did the US start making such things unnecessarily difficult.

Do you think they give a damn. Give them an excuse to deport you and you will be deported, your leaders, your currency, your economy and your explanation be damned.
Help yourself. Give them less reasons. But hey, if you think you can give concrete reasons, you are more than welcome to try your luck.
If you are looking at cutting cost, should you really be travelling? Why not wait till you don't need to "cut cost".

At the risk of receiving divine lightening on my head, even if an Angel was made president of Nigeria, he will just resign. Sorry for the derailment.
When it comes to US matter, I personally try to reduce anything that will cause me headache.

How will the CBP officer at d POE know that some one paid the flight fee for you? As long as the flight ticket bears your name, I don't think there is any cause for fear.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by toyeentee: 2:09pm On Apr 17, 2017
LadyGuinivere:

1. Either way you MUST make a payment and the payment is non refundable
2. I percieve you have NOT filled a ds 160. you will have to fill that.
3. The ds 160 is where all those informatiob you seek to fill is contained.
For further assistance, read the dropbox side of the US visa website

Oh my! Seen my mistake, you are right I didn't fill the DS160 form, I just logged into my account directly. Thanks a lot!

I thought about this angle too, if the person buys the ticket over there in my friend's name, he sends just an e-ticket, which is then converted to the hard copy at the airport and I want to believe it would bear the name of the person flying(correct me if I am wrong) Would it be possible for the CBP @ POE to know all these?

P.S(Not related to the above)
Can't wait for my wife and son's passport to be out so we can also take a shot at the US visit visa...been dreaming of the roller coaster rides and Disneyland grin grin grin

Then I stick to a conference as my purpose of travel still enjoy my vacation afterwards. FYI, can't embark on something as int'l conference without being conversant with the nitty gritty of it, it's not my first time attending a conference or travelling overseas; and you'll be making a big mistake to think am leaving my job and country for some American dream. All Nigerians are not fraudsters with nothing but evil intentions. So please, ma'am/sir, all I need is a good conference on accounting or oil and gas in the states then i'll take it from there. Thank alot.

You are underestimating the power of Google. Just type the above question "US conference on accounting + oil and gas" and see the magic happen....

@inikamoze, I get my peeps to buy my ticket everytime. As long as you have your name one it. It is not even the business of the cbp. However, if it is bought with a stolen card(if them wo Ike to buy it. Loll. I hope you know what am talking about) the airline won't even allow you leave Lagos.

MARRIAGE IS A STRONG TIE , EVEN A KEY FACTOR
YOU ARE 24, NOT MARRIED , ARE YOU SPONSORING YOUR SELF? AM 100% SURE NO
SO YOUR PARENTS OR FAMILY MEMBERS SPONSORING YOU SO THEIR CREDIBILITY/ACCOUNT WILL BE CONSIDERED NOT YOURS
BUT FOR MARRIED AND MORE GROWN (AGE WISE) PEOPLE LIKE LETS SAY 30YERS
IF YOU ARE MARRIED THERES A 99.9% CHANCES YOU WILL BE BACK.
DEPENDING ON THE INTERVIEWER JUDGMENT HE OR SHE MIGHT DESIDE TO LOOK INTO OTHER DOCUMENTS YOU PRESENT
IF NOT SATISFIED THEN THERES A 100% CHANCES YOU WILL BE ASKED TO RE APPLY ANOTHER TIME
SIMPLE , HAVE SEEN LOTS OF MARRIED COUPLES DENIED AND LOTS GOT THE VISA , IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE DOCUMENTS YOU ARE PRESENTING , BUT I TELL YOU AS A MARRIED PERSON YOU HAVE AN EDGE OVER EVERY SINGLE PERSONS STANDING IN LINE TO TALK TO AN INTERVIEWER , I UNDERSTAND COMPOSURE ADDS TO IT AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON........
MsTiitii:

I believe we are all educated here, You stated that 'Marriage is a self supporting document, that proves strong ties'. I will say it again, MARRIAGE is NOT exactly a strong tie. If you like marry and have 6 children, that does not prove your loyalty to stay in this country. A VO, just by looking at you knows whether you getting a visa or not. They are psychologists! A lot of single people on this page got their visas without been married. Mostly, becuse they were articulate, composed and had good travel history. I have friends who got their visas and the 'are you married question?' Never came up. I was never asked if I was married, and I am 24 and not working, and I got my visa. All they asked was why, I hadn't travelled to the US in 2 years and I replied that I was in school. Mostly the way you present yourself, is how you are asked questions. Who marriage epp? A lot of us have met people, and even without them opening their mouth, we already know their intentions. I believe it's like that with VO's.

In my opinion, I think sincerity of purpose, your composure and being able to present your case truthfully is the key to visit visa

The use of Marriage has become overrated and is no longer a strong tie to get a US visiting visa. Some applicants have used it as a tactic to fool the Visa Officers to approve their visas. Some married couples still end up divorcing their spouses once they get to the US in order to make their temporary stay permanent.

How will CBP know about the ticket? My only problem is that some airline will ask to see credit card used in purchasing the ticket and also economically it will be more expensive than buying the ticket in Nigeria because the amount of money you will send them will be calculated based on black market price of $ in Nigeria.

so I must upload my passport photo? does this mean, they no longer accept physical passport photos? Please forgive me if it seems like I am asking the same question again. Like I explained earlier, I am trying to renew my visa and the last time we took physical passports with us. I am about concluding the application process tonight, I dont want to goof. Thank you (:

@Beautyaddy dont get me wrong Ooooo
what am saying is that when am interviewer looks at your paper , he see say you are not married , your age is lets say 25 -30
and you are not married , you your self look at that age bracket , that age is young , you can travel on b1/b2 visa , get there meet a lady
marry , change your status , apply for immigrant visa using DS-260 .. NOW that right there is their fear if you are within that age bracket
Now look at the same age bracket and now the person is married , automatically you cant go through the process i just mentioned , if they give the visa and you get there and say you divorce your wife and marry another woman over there, believe me 99.9 of those kind of cases usually get denied they dont even go through at the NVC.

that is you did not follow the post from the source
the guy said marriage is not a strong tie and key factor and i said
MARRIAGE IS A STRONG TIE , EVEN A KEY FACTOR
family , school , work or business , professional or social link to a foreign country
this are what is required of you to get a B1/B2 Visa if you can prove 3 you will get the visa
