You're very right bro! Mine was very similar to yours, we just dey withdraw from atm like say we dey mark attendance (Lagos camp). I had no regrets cos to me it was a once in a lifetime thing. And I had stayed quite a while hustling at home like you before going for service. That is not to say that one should spend exorbitantly if one can't afford it guys, there are many ways to catch fun in camp without spending money.

The hot slap brought me back from the deep sleep back to reality, at first glance I was seeing four persons i was thinking it was the commandant and his men but on second glance I was seeing kizzo, William, seyi and Ahmed. They were all laughing hard and I was so angry dat I got up with full force to decend on the person that slapped me before kizzo rushed me and said he was the one. Immediately I shouted at him saying, guy which kind packege be dis one naw? Why you go give me that kind hot slap wen I dey sleep, they continued laughing very hard this time before he said guy we been don dey fear for you oh, I just dey hear Lara, Lara, Lara, nai I raise my head up to see you dey smile like rat wey dey inlove dey call Lara name for sleep, I quickly wake the guys up and one of dem say make I slap you to bring you back from wherever you been don reach dats why i slap you dat hard. They continue to laugh like hell, i gave him a long hard look and said if you no be my guy u for Bleep you up for here now, I was so angry immediately I took my brush, paste, towel and soap stepped out nd started heading to the Mami. He and William followed me nd started calling me but I cared less I was walking very fast and they were trying to catch up with me and when they did he started apologizing to me trying to calm me down. It got to a point nd stopped nd said guy you Bleep up o why you go do ur blood like dat in front of does guys naw, he then said he was sorry dat he was scared for me, I now said but guy you serious say i been dey call Lara name for sleep? They both looked at each other and bursted into laughter I chased them down till we got to the Mami. I must say dat morning was crazy, we took our baths nd came back to the hostel to dress up and before we could make it out the biggle has been blown, unknown to us we were still in the hostel in a blink of an eye two soldiers came into our hostel with 2 buckets of water, immediately they came in they said we should start walking out slowly dat anyone dat runs out will be dealt with, so the first guy was about walking out nd they splashed water on him, very cold water he was totally wet, the next guy went the same thing happened, and the next, and the next, then it was getting to my turn I told William and kizzy dat am not fucken getting wet this morning and they asked wat my plan was nd I said watch and see! When I was about walking out of the door i ran out and paused so the water missed me and I ran out straight out of the hostel block they were shouting stop there! For wia me don move ahead oooo. I got to the parade ground and blended myself in the crowd, me that likes staying at the back always, this time ehn I was in the middle of the crowd cuz if does men catch me ehn my punishment no go finish till the end of camp. So it got to the announcement time and the Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS) does guys really tried, they announced that the Miss NYSC, Mr Macho, Mr camp events would be coming up soon and that all platoons should present each contestant to represent them for the events. When I heard Miss NYSC my mind just went straight to the one and only girl who can win it in a twinkle of an eye....

So i met her and said shey you know you already won it right? She smiled at me and said Mitch stop joor am not going for it, nd I Said you don't really have a choice dear it's in you already, before you know it the platoon leader would come nd meet you for you to represent us. Nd as if i knew it right there we stood talking about the the issue, the platoon leader nd the assistant came up to us nd excused her away from me and I just smiled and said right back at ya... Moments later she came up to me telling me that they want her to represent the platoon in the miss NYSC and just smiled and said I told you didn't i? Then she said she's not sure if she's was gonna go through with it and I advised her to go for it dat she doesn't know what other opportunities it might bring. But before now Lara has been in a beauty contest before in her final year in school and she came third, so I went further to advise her dat since she has done it before it will be more easier for her nd she's gonna have an edge over the other contestants. She reasoned with me and agreed to go for it and thats how she was in line to represent us for the miss NYSC, and also she was in the drama group too. So they started rehearsals for the miss NYSC and also the drama so we didn't really flow too much like before cuz she's always busy rehearsing but sometimes I go over to watch her and when she sees me she would be very shy and I would just laugh, also she makes tym for me at night so we can get to chill out at the Mami and catch up on the days activities. She would gist me about the different guy's chieking her and asking for her number, and some would go as far as telling her dat anytime dey see her she's not always alone dat she's always with one fair dude dat now dat am not with her she should chill with them, we would just laugh over it and I will tell her about the girls dat are feeling me on camp nd she would be like for your mind abi! Be feeling ur self there dat kinda thing. Every moment spent with Lara was memorable and there's never a dull moment with her, she's funny, she's has a huge sense of humor that i really like, her smile is as sweet as peanut butter and chocolate on bread lol it's dat nice. But there is one thing about her dat has me puzzled up till date So it was the second Sunday on camp and on Sundays we can put on anything we like up till 1 pm but after one o'clock you must change to ur whites. I woke up feeling good, woke the guys up nd we did a little cleaning and after that we took our baths in the annoying hostel bathroom cuz it was already day light nd I can't go to the Mami to bath, after dat we went to the Mami to chow, ordered for beans and plantain, William ordered for the same thing while the God father kizzo ordered for Beans, plantain, pap, bread nd milk and I was like guy u chop oooo. While eating i was just telling the guys that if it was Lara dat was on this table eating with me she would have stolen all my plantains cuz she likes it very much, I wasn't through talking about her when her call came in nd kizzo looked at my phone lying on the table ringing cuz i have a special ring tone for her and like mehn Mitch i dey feel you and Lara like dis beans and pap wey I dey take so and we all laughed. I picked up the call and said hey dearie wats up nd she's said am cool b, where you at i asked nd she said she was just walking into the Mami to give the dry cleaner her clothes and I said OK I will meet u there nd droped the call. Good thing i was almost through with my food I rushed up and said guys i go, before I could say anything kizzo has already said see am he wan go meet her sharply and i hit his head and left them. I got there and met her collecting her clothes from the guy and i quickly asked how much nd the guy said 500, so I brought out my wallet and was about to pay nd she quickly stopped me and brought out 500 and was giving it to the guy nd i told the guy not to collect it from her. She tried giving it to him again and i held her hands, I also tried giving the guy she also pushed me off nd we were struggling for who to pay the guy nd he was just confused nd smiling. So i finally over powered her nd gave the guy the money nd we left, and went to the restaurant for her to take her breakfast and while eating we were just gisting about camp and the likes nd when she was through I paid for the chow nd she wasn't too happy about it then I reminded her of wat she did for me and William you remember I said I owe you one? She looked at me and said you didn't have to pay for it but since u did its all good, we left the restaurant and I told her I left the guyz to meet up with her so I took her to the place where dey were eating, before getting there while walking I noticed that so many people had their eyes on us, it was kinda weird but I was kinda enjoying it lol. We got to where the guys where and on seeing Lara they were all smiles nd happy to see her mostly kizzo, it's always fun to have her around cuz she lighten up the atmosphere around us...

So we all chilled at the restaurant for a while before heading out of the Mami, since it was a Sunday and we didn't have much doing but to chill nd relax so William and kizzo said they were heading to the hostel to try and sleep. They left leaving me nd my sweet girl so we decided to go our favorite place... Under a well spreaded tree and we sat down facing each other, admiring each other and wishing these sweet moments could last longer. We started gisting about different things within the camp and outside the camp, Fear Lara when it comes to gisting o, she can gist nd mebo for Africa ehn Lol. She started gisting me about her school days and how interesting it was for her, the cool friends she had nd how they really liked her so much, she now entered her relationship line and told me about her first boyfriend in school and how dey dated for more than one 3years, back then she had a very close female friend she trusted very much nd whom she tells everything that happens between her and her boyfriend, not knowing that this girl has an eye for her guy and eventually started sleeping with her boyfriend behind her back, when she eventually find out it was heart recking for her, she broke up with him and cut her friend off nd dats the reason why she does not have any close female friend because of what she suffered from a girl she believed was her close friend. She went on telling me about her final year in school and how she contested for the miss campus beauty show and how she came third. She's very interesting to listen to when she talks nd I can sit down nd hear her talk all day long cuz her voice is soothing and her face gestures makes it more interesting to see. I did tell her a little about me but not the real me, I wished I did reveal a lot of things about me to her but I was kinda cagey about that part. We were under the tree discussing nd enjoying ourselves, fellow corpers were just passing by nd giving us dat look of (una two self, una own too much lol dat kinda tin) but we cared less just chilling and enjoying each other's company before I saw her or them rather coming out from the female hostel and walking towards our direction (Damy and benita) I quickly moved my head hoping they won't see me nd try to spoil my day, but luckily for me they passed without knowing its me. So we continued doing our thing then Lara said her friend was coming our way nd I was like who's dat cuz she hasn't told me about any friend despite the fact that have been telling her to forget the past nd make new friends. So she came looking slim, tall, and beautiful her name is Love. Lara introduced us nd we shook hands and they started their girly talks, which made me bring out my phone nd started pressing. Love was still chilling with us when I saw Mike nd called him so he came nd we all got talking, Lara also introduced him to love nd he kinda started liking her right away (Typical Mark) he collected her number straight up nd love didn't stay dat much nd she left leaving the three of us there. initially Mark was liking Lara but since he knows am into her he backed off, which he should ooo so him and Lara are like cat and rat always cursing each other in a playful way wich I like being around them wen dey start doing it. It's always fun when like minds meet and talk about anything that comes to mind, mark is a cool dude, tall, dark and well built with a very funny hair cut. So tym passed nd mark left us to sleep and awhile later Lara said she wanted to do the same so I escorted her to her hostel we huged nd I told her I was gonna beep her up later, so I went to the hostel with the intention to relax and play all wat has happened in my head all over again, I got to the hostel and met my opposite bunk mate he goes by the name seyi but I like calling him oluwaseyifummi which he likes, so I met him, and some other guyz including a guy i personally named best passer, I swear down dis guy no dey stay one place, my hostel room is long with bunk beds arranged in a straight line, dis particularly guy won't let me nd seyi rest instead of him to reason the number of things he wants to do before heading out, he would go out do one, come back in, go out nd do another, go in still come out to wash his spoon which he should have done while previously going out. It's just crazy nd each time he wants to pass he inconveniences us, dats why I named him best passer... There is another guy he's very short nd we call him Lagos boy because of his razz attitude he displays like a conductor, they were all arguing about something nd seyi was seriously whining them nd they were just falling for it, one thing about seyi is dat he loves to whine guyz and if you are not careful you will fall for it nd the guys will laugh the hell out of you. He's an interesting guy nd I miss him, there is also a calaba guy nd he calls himself the Civilian Governor, very funny guy, his intonation is fucken wack and can make you laugh hard, my hostel mates are very lively and there is the duo called Ahmed and Lanre they are both Muslims, two weird guys, they don't miss out on the Mami every evening and when dey get back they are high as a kite nd dats when they are very very funny, they say all kinds of ballzy shit dat if you had intention of sleeping you wud have a rethink. So I just left the guys arguing, William and kizzo are already sleeping so I decided to join them u only have an hour to sleep before it's 4 o'clock wen the bigle wud be rang for the evening wahala... I slept nd was woken up by kizzo I washed my face nd freshen up a lil, we got out to the parade ground and it was like the sun was angry with us cuz it was hammering so hard ehn, they started doing their usuals, the people doing the match past has started nd our platoon commander took the matching more seriously than any other competition. Then the footballers were doing their thing which am one of them, I saw Lara with some girls close to a tree doing their drama practice, the macho guyz are at the corner lifting weights and flexing their muscles me go just remove eyes like i no see them cuz those guyz can intimidate ya life you go come dey say why I no get muscles sef. So after an hour of practice our platoon commander Mr Solomon called us all nd was briefing us about every every when I sited baba for the girls coming towards our platoon, i didn't know how he sited Lara but he called her out nd asked Mr Solomon that why is it dat Lara is not among those matching, I didn't get wat Mr solo told him he now told Lara to come out nd to start following everywere he goes under dat sun Damn i was fucken angry... They left where we were nd started walking around nd finally he took her to where his car was parked and he sat inside Lara was standing close to him and they were talking. I was just seeing everything from afar nd couldn't wait for Mr solo to finish the story he was telling cuz my mind no dey Dia again, so he was thru nd i before I could look at where they were again Lara already a few steps away from me, she came nd started complaining about how the commandant was stressing her out nd how he was telling her to always be calling him in the morning to ask how his nite was, in the afternoon and also in the evenings and i was like WTF is dat supposed to mean. She went further saying if she fails to call him she will serve punishment then I know it's no longer funny. It was already getting dark so I asked Lara to join me and my guyz at the Mami and she obliged so saw her off to her hostel then she asked for the time nd I said I was gonna call her but she said her phone was at the Mami charging, so I came up with a plan for us to meet right under the tree in the next 15 minutes which she agreed, so we both left for our hostels and I had no intention of wasting much time just to get my guyz but when u got to the hostel I was delayed nd Lara was at the spot waiting for me for a longer time but when I didn't show up she went to get her phone in the Mami nd called me telling me that she's at the Mami I should com get her, I got there with my guyz and apologize for keeping her waiting. So i picked a different bar to chill out dat evening so she sat down and in a table of four, kizzo went to get some suya meat while me and William left Lara to get some drinks and we stayed longer than we should cuz their Pos was kinda acting up but eventually we payed but while coming back to our table we met Spencer and some girls sitted on our table. You remember Spencer right? The guy dat was disturbing Lara for her number on the parade ground, so I said Spencer my guy how far naw he replied Mitchy Mitch nd I said you know know say na my table you sit down so abi you no see her here I asked nd he looked at Lara looked at me and smiled. Then he stood up looking at me in the eyes for a couple of seconds nd said why you dey Bleep up, I said nothing nd he left with the two girls he was with. I just laughed nd sat down close to Lara so we popped ur drinks nd kizzo came with the freshly prepared suya nd we started flexing it but I noticed Lara wasn't feeling like her usual self nd I asked wats wrong nd she complained about her stomach hurting her,so I moved my head close to her and i asked playfully if it's her monthly salary nd she pushed my head away nd said it's not. Nd I told her it will cool off soon that she should drink up nd eat some suya which she started doing nd also feeding me with the suya at intervals which made my guyz looked at us nd kizzo said mehn Mitch I dey feel you pieces... Nd we all laughed and I was already feeling the myself cuz we really meant to get high dat night, we bought a big bottle of smirnoff liquor nd was mixing it up sprite we also got beers nd one other stuff lol... So we were drinking up but I noticed Lara wasn't in the zone so I asked her and she said it's still paining her nd dat she would like to use the restroom she did nd said we should leave the Mami nd go chill some place cool without much noise dat the speakers are just too loud for her, so I told my guyz dat I wanna move out with Lara dat I would be back shortly so we left but before we were able to leave the Mami her phone rang and it was the commandant calling, I told her not to pick up but she did nd when she did he asked her where she was nd she said she just left the Mami, and he said i just saw you now start coming back to the Guinness stand am there, she told me wat he said nd i pleaded with her not to go but she begged me to reason with her dat he has already seen her dat she has to go but she will tell him she's having stomach pains nd has to go nd relax. So she said I should wait for her at the front a the multipurpose Hall nd she left, when she left i tot she wasn't going to come back or he won't allow her back on tym so i just walking slowly with the suya I bought for her nd some cans of smirnoff ice black dat has a bit more alcohol in it. I walked to the hall nd sat down in front of the entrance two Corpers were at my back discussing, so i popped one of the cans and sipped from it as i was about taking a second sip my phone rang nd it was Lara nd I picked expecting for her to tell me she's no longer coming nd dat she's sorry, but I was surprised when she said am close to the entrance of the Mami come get me, my face lit up nd I stood up to go get her we came back to the place I was sitted before nd we sat down and I asked her how she managed to leave him on tym nd she said never mind dear. So she sat very close to me with her head on my shoulder and my hands around her succulent waist, we lasted in dat position for a while then I remembered I had some suya nd I started feeding her nd also giving her the drink which she hesitated at first but later on took, then I started noticing some funny movements at my back nd when I looked it was those two corpers seriously kissing & smooching each other and I showed Lara nd we both giggled and decided to give them some space. We took our things and walked further down to the field which was kinda empty with only few corpers left, we found an empty bench and we sat on it facing each other with a little space in the middle I dropped the drinks on the bench & we started feeding each other and drinking and gisting, everything seemed perfect around Lara, we never wanted the moments to end, it seems we have come a lot closer with each passing day to get us to where we were dat evening nd i was so blessed to have such a beautiful heart in front of me. We got thru with the drinks and I pulled her by her succulent waist and we were very close to each other with no more space in the middle, I was just looking deep into her eyes and at that very moment i wanted to kiss her so badly dat we won't even want to stop, but instead of kissing her I hugged her, nd she hugged me back so tightly dat our bodies were so infused with each other and we got lost in the moment and we didn't see when they came........
