There is a clear difference between staying alone and being lonely. You could decide to be alone based on how you feel at the moment or a personal decision. You could be alone and not feel lonely by enjoying your own company. Whereas, you could be around people and still feel lonely within. Loneliness is often a feeling of displeasure and mostly associated with depression, heartbreak or rejection.

Loneliness if not dealt with could be contagious. The moment you start feeling lonely, it makes you restrict yourself from people, thereby influencing those around you. Is loneliness sharing a better part of your life? Have you thought of ways to come out of that feeling and it feels impossible? Try these tips.

# Identify The Origin of the Loneliness

You know why this is important? When you identify the reason why you are lonely, it makes it easier to get a clue to a lasting solution. People feel lonely for different reasons. Some, it could be insecurity, heartbreak, financial issues, inferior complex or mood swing. When you identify why you are sad, make efforts to keep yourself happy regardless of the reason. If it is an inferiority complex, make yourself feel better, same goes for other reasons. What drives people nut is when they have no reason for being lonely, they just hope, wonder and guess and this does not help in finding the solution.

# Motivate Yourself

The best person to make you happy is ‘’You’’. Develop a good relationship with yourself, love yourself first and build on that. It does not really matter how many negative people you have around if you have a good relationship with yourself, their negativity does not get to you. Not everyone you hang out with is good for your mental health. There are some people that are filled with negativity and keeping up with such people drains you out. Such people are never there to motivate or make you smile, they usually have one or two negative things to say about you or others. You need people that will pass happiness and positive vibes to you, not those that will take them from you. The people you hang around have major effects on how you feel generally. To overcome loneliness, stay with positive minded people.

# Do What Makes You Happy
You could be in an organization, institution or position where you don’t really feel happy. Doing what makes you happy or what you have got a genuine passion for is a way to cure loneliness. It makes you forget about your worries; it makes you want to grow to be better. When you are struggling with a particular thing often, it saps out your energy and makes you constantly sad. If you are somewhere out of no choice, create your own happiness.
