Make sure you pay special emphasis on Luke 11:42 where Jesus chided the teachers of the law for paying tithes and giving offerings while neglecting justice. Jesus told them "these you ought to do without ignoring the other"! So don't give me that thrash that we are in the new testament and shouldn't pay tithes again. The same Jesus that gave his life on the cross for you clearly demands you pay tithes as much as you value justice!

Moreover, you wouldn't expect Jesus to outlaw tithes right in front of the Pharisees. When Jesus paid the temple tax, he did so just for peace's sake and not because he was obligated to.

So Jesus tells us that we ought to pay tithes and maintain justice and not do one while leaving the other, then you come here to tell us christians shouldn't follow what Jesus commanded? If Jesus' instructions do not apply to us because we are now christians, then tell me whose instructions apply to us! You don't understand the Bible one bit. Jesus originally came for the Jews and it is customary under the Jewish law to pay tithes. Jews were bound by law to pay tithes. Christians are not bound by such laws. You are not a Jew and are not obligated to embrace the traditions of another people.

Judaism (generally many of the laws of Moses as given to him by Yahweh) belong to the Jews, not to Christians.

By the way, to help your gross ignorance, let me shock you that tithe has always been in existence before the law was given, and tithe is still in existence after the law. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek in Genesis after conquering the 5 kings who he fought in battle. Go and read it and tell me if the law had been given at that time. The law was given during the time of Moses, and before then Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had already paid tithes in their time! So if tithe was there before the law, then don't tell me it's one of the laws that Jesus abolished. Besides, like I said before, Jesus specifically instructed for tithes to be paid in Luke 11:42. You want to tell me he was talking only to the Jews there? why not also tell me that everything Jesus said and did was for the Jews only because they all happened in the land of the Jews when he came to the earth??

Abraham paid without compulsion which means he was not bound by law. But you remain under the profitless law (as described by Paul) when you pay under compulsion.

Jesus never obligated Christians to pay tithes. If he wanted to, he would have wanted you all to worship in temples and pay temple taxes. He would have paid emphasis on tithes and not salvation.

You must really be so daft to expect God to throw down money from heaven each time churches want to pay rent or buy land to build or pay their staff that keep the system running! Even your government is sensible enough to know that they need taxes to be able to function, but you that claims to be full of wisdom cannot use your common sense to understand that the reason why God demands for tithes is so that the church can have resources to run and pay its bills. Jesus said "go ye into the world and preach the gospel". Tell me how you can go into the world without money to pay your bills? The microphones that churches use, is it not money that was used to buy them? the equipment churches use, is it not money that bought them? the church building and its maintenance, is it not money that takes care of them? Or do you expect God to throw down all these money from heaven? If church wants to organise crusades to win souls for Christ, is it not money they spend to do so and organise everything needed for the crusades? Is it not tithes and offerings that generates the money for all these things? When I tell you that you don't have sense for saying christians should not obey God and pay tithes, you will feel I'm insulting you whereas I was only stating facts

Tithe is given under compulsion (must be ten percent), offering is not (any amount, without compulsion, any amount from your heart). I am not against offering.

And mind you, tithes are not meant to be used to take care of the buildings you call churches or the crusades. Most of these crusades are mostly already paid for even before people donate offerings. Also, the Bible gave specific usages of tithes. It is not to be used to maintain a building. Temple taxes are used for that purpose.

My friend, you don't know quatre of what I know about the Bible so bow down and show some respect, my friend!!!
