I would say its a matter of choice. Whatever suits you, go for it without degrading your "alternative foregone"

Go to Goethe Institute and learn your language. Also endeavour to put in effort and learn online. Duolingo is Great!

I downloaded the app duolingo and have been busy with it for about 3weeks now. Es ist ein wunderschöne app! As well I have been downloading movies with German subtitle and watching. I think that's a great way to start learning German. That's my 2 cent though. I hail all prospective Ausländer Hochschuler in the Haus. Keep hope alive
