I believe Jonathan was a victim of wife control. Women think straight and act straight without consideration quite unlike men. Once a woman dislikes you her heart is covered by a shield and no genuine compromise can be achieved. Your wife should be more of an assistant in decision making not the other way round or you are bound to keep making strategic mistakes. |

Limitednow:Objective assessment from the Ijaw leaders. GEJ was a good man but the arrogance and corrupt practices common with people working with him brought a resounding defeat in the election. |

rozayx5:Taking you back memory lane, is it not the same abokis who voted for him in 2011 against the same aboki in power now. If abokis will stay with their brothers, he shouldn't even have 100votes in the entire north, the same way s/s and s/e did for jona. Never come across a weak leader like him, even in speech, you could see weakness. Jona, just spoilt things and ran a govt like militants. He emptied Nigeria 's vault to buy votes when it became apparent he was going to lose. He lost because of abysmal performance, Buhari shouldn't have been our option, jona made him a favourite, sad. |

Derawiz:well, I think the money at his disposal then would have been enough to work in the north and in the south, all through his tenure there was crisis in the north, people could not go to school then why was he busy building schools? what they needed was security but he couldn't give them, GEJ lost because of his attitude towards BH and his method of fighting corruption. there was no casualties in his fight against corruption. We should also remember that STEALING IS NOT CORRUPTION |

greenermodels:Just like a Northerner would think that jonathan worked in the south because there is no proof he did anything in the North?the honest truth the man was a colossal failure,he thought he could use Nigeria's money to buy the presidency,he did not to anything anywhere in Nigeria just phanthom and imaginery projects on paper. |

Derawiz:Remember that in the north, Jonatha recorded millions of votes there in 2011. Those votes vanished en masse in 2015 What happened? What do you have to say about that. |

ZombieTAMER:Let President Buhari finish his mandated term of 4 years before you judge him, nobody based your primary school qualifications on your grades in primary 4, no one based your secondary school education on your junior secondary school grades, I leave out university because I am not sure you have stepped into any faculty of university education. Limitednow:Seriously, I do not understand how people can make assertions that PEJ was betrayed by the north. Niger Delta where Jonathan is from voted massively for Jonthan, North where Buhari is from voted massively for Buhari. So where and what is betrayal in this situation? Are we saying North do not have the right to vote for their own just like Niger Delta did? If anybody should have any complain, it should be about the West. But the truth is, the West is too elictic and well informed, so they saw and knew what was going on PEJ corrupt government and they did not like what they were seeing. Jonathan and his team knew he was going to lose the West, that was why he postponed the election and spent 90% of his time after the postponement in Lagos doling out dollars to every Tom, Dick and Harry that is famous and has Yoruba name. You remember the Obas praying for him, the Performing Artists led Toyin Aimaku, visit to Bishop 'Oledepo' church. He dollarized The West within that short period believing he can buy the support of the Yorubas. He failed there for 2 reasons, FKK and Channel News. FKK - Yorubas will never buy anything FKK is selling, even if the product is Jesus Christ, once it is from FKK, Yorubas will not buy. Within the hearth of hearths, we see FKK as a certified Bastard and a thief. We see him as Omo Ale jatijati who will talk anything and sing any tune once you give him money. Channels News - This station did a fantastic job in exposing the rot in PEJ and his government. The Channel sustained this job throughout the election process. PEJ depended on AIT and pumped billions to Dopeksi. Dopeksi is a thief who was owing his workers months of salary. So they a bad job of projecting PEJ. So in the long run, it was the exposure of PEJ corrupt leadership that lost him the West which eventually cost him the Presidency - it has nothing to do with North. |

Remember the North voted massively for him in his 2011 general election . Unprecedented corruption in the annals of this country under his watch let him down. I remember a corrupt administration of General Babangida calling it's self a saint when juxtaposed with the Jonathan administration. Corruption in Nigeria is irrespective of tribe, religion and ethnicity. Lets acknowledged this so we can frown at corrupt people be they our siblings or friends. Nigeria can be a great nation! |

The only ally he needed to retain the Presidency he failed to gain their support but tried to bribe them with dollars unfortunately the SW is sophisticated for him to be deceived with money. He could have built infrastructure for the common man to instead he chose to use same money meant for infrastructure development to bribe the elite that have poor political/social value. eg Bode George, NIA director Oke, FFK etc Abegi blame yourself for not able to read the body languages of the people you claim to govern. deebsman1:My take. The remark that GEJ was too small for the presidency, though uncivil, has some some truth. It is bitter. Flashback I have said it somewhere that Jona's background and experience did not prepare him for the presidency. He hung to the coat tails of Alams as deputy governor and innocently benefitted from the rift between OBJ and Alams. Thereafter, his docile mien was exploited to install him as Vice president where he became the proverbial "spare tyre".Serious doubt of his political acumen began to show when Yaradua was on his sick bed and immediately after his demise. We all know the shenanigans that took place. The events that preceded his succeeding Yaradua clearly portrayed that he will have a tough time getting reelected after completing their first term. Thanks to providence, he scaled through. Right then, he knew that getting his full two term presidency would be an uphill task . He started to advocate for a single term of six years or so and faced stiff opposition. As his party was bound to support his second term bid, he had to bow to primaries or not make it happen. The only opposition he would face is from his zone. This is where his tiff with Amaechi surfaced. He must nail any rival from the South south. In addition, he must close his eyes to the graft that was germinating in his government and party. That is the only way he could get those modern day Mandarin s to give their support. In the process, hell was let loose and here we are today. By employing the carrot and stick, which is a double edged sword, Nigeria was pillaged and politicians and their godfathers broke the bank, literally.Breaking the bank meant using state resources to curry support. This in turn bastardised the system and polarizes the polity to the extent that the man on the street began yo notice. It also pitched region , tribe and religion on the front burner. It is still with us as some citizens, like Jona have refused to accept that the elections are over and we have to move on. It is fruitless going into details current events reflect this. What remains is for us to learn a lesson from this. That lesson is that the political elite are in unity when it comes to power, money and influence. They leave their constituency with a promise to go to ABUJA and fight for our rights. Their first agenda on arrival is HOW UNA DEY DO AM? That DO AM is ...... SHARE THE MONEY. Every other thing is shifted to the background. As we live in interesting times, I whish Jona luck. He has no one to blame but his luck. He came, he saw, whether he conquered is the question. As president, with his education, he has failed to harness information and resources, human and material to make educated people prowd. He succumbed to that slippery slope..... Ineptitude. |
