Eight days naming is usually done low key(there are exceptions) with just family members one or.two.friends and minister (living room things)
It's the dedication at three months if you choose to.do.that the gbedu can be done! By then the kids would.have been.strong enough for.public display.

My Birth Story!!!
Part 1
Mild contractions started while in church on 30th April like 40mins interval, wasn't painful though. I thought it was just the normal pain I do have down my pelvic region. Around afternoon time, contractions was becoming painful but bearable like 20mins interval, I was enduring it, I even carry my dates start to dey eat sef cos I've been eating it since 36weeks. Around 6pm, I called my DH make we go for my everyday evening walk, we comot for house, contractions hook me on the way like 2 times, I was still enduring the pain. DH say make we go hospital, I said no, that we might be sent back and hospital is kinda far from home. I was enduring the pain till around 10pm, then, the contraction was like 10mins apart and becoming painful, DH talk say make we dey go hospital o that he can't start driving for midnight when I won't be able to bear the pain again, I dey form one kain strong woman say make we wait till tomorrow.

My dear the price of things in the market advised me when I was telling myself all these things you're saying. We kept it very low key. Did it at 2 months sef instead of 3 to throw people off. Close friends and family and we still spent close to 200k. Biko I agree with your husband

My Birth story.

Contractions started around 5:45am on 1st of may.i bore it.it became frequent every 15minutes.i managed it till 3.37pm and got to the hospital,I was check and was asked for my delivery bag.i rang my neighbour to bring the bag for me.she was still at home,went I later called that I have given birth.she was surprised.

Baby weights 4kg...normal vD delivery....small natural tear.painless,sharp,smooth delivery.

Depending on ur tribe....as omo yoruba n how we do it,on d 8 day is all party day except d fund is not available.the igbos do low key then do big party for dedication wc also depend on availability of fund.

That's why it's not good to make decisions while you are still angry. I wish she had calmed down and thought things through. Am sure she would have sold the cars and the house instead of burning the cars. went for antenatal today and I was said to have developed pre eclampsia...initially i wasn't scared or moved because I have gone through it 5 yrs ago..but by the time I got home I started thinking about it and realised this is coming too early as I'm only 21 weeks gone while during my first pregnancy it started at the 8th month...the truth is that I feel very afraid especially when I remember I'm far from my mother who is in the best position to be my guide...

Thank u mamas for responding to my rant. I have been seriously bothered. At time i cry after kpekusing cos I feel am putting my hubby through undue stress or maybe im not normal. He keeps encouraging me that it will be well. We even pray about it.

When it was few minutes to 11pm, the pain don increase, my DH just drag me up from bed make we dey go hospital, na so we comot o, na so I dey shout anytime car enter inside pot holes for road, we sha reach hospital around to 12, I was thinking I would have dilated well, say like 6cm cos the pain has increased, doctor did VE and said I was just 2cm dilated, chineke meee!!! 2cm bawo, I just weak for body, I wan almost cry, doc even advised we go home and come back in the morning. DH said make dem admit us that our house is far and it's late already. Na so we enter room o, doc said she will come check me in 4 hours time, that will be like 4am, cos we were admitted around 12am. One nurse con even put bad mouth say, madam, you should have gone home o cos you still have a long way to go, I just look am with one side eye.
The contraction con dey come like every 5mins, I go just dey hold and shake DH hand like I wan break am anytime e hook me, he just dey endure am with me. Anytime e hook me again, I go quickly press the bell for the room, nurse go run come say wetin happen, when dem see say na only contraction, dem go just turn back, Chai, I just begin dey cry.

My dear, you need not to be afraid cos Christ hasn't given you a spirit of fear but that of a sound mind. Face your fears? What are you afraid of? Death? Losing your child? Do you know the hairs on your head are numbered and none can fall without God knowing? Can you explain how sperm and egg developed into heartbeat with flesh and bones to form a baby? If you can't then you have no reason to fear dear. Talk to God and be still and know he is God.
Obey your docs, God gave them that wisdom for times like this. You will deliver safely in Jesus name Amen.

God knew that we would hear and see things in this world that would make us anxious and fearful, and he knows this is not good for us which is why in Philippians 4:8 he asked that we divert our thoughts to good things only ---

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

So my dear, think about the positive things; the gift of life, a loving husband, food to eat, God forming that beautiful child within you, your other beautiful children, family, friends etc.

He also asked us to "cast our burden unto him because he cares for us" (1 Peter 5:7). Please tell him what is making you scared and let it go because you know you have a loving and faithful father who will always fight for you and has already granted you victory.

Keep telling yourself "it is well" and that "it shall definitely end in praise". Listen to praise songs as much as you can and just enjoy this season you have been blessed with. Anytime fearful thoughts enter your mind rebuke them saying that "this is a lie from the pit of hell, and my God is in control and has already granted me victory".

I think it depends on your tribe( I stand to be corrected) as a Yoruba, 8th day naming is for party day if the fund is available my 2boys naming was like a mini party we cooked enough food, rented canopy with tables and chairs, brought DJ with flowing new baby songs and even had master of ceremony ( I and dh likes party sha). Snapped enough pictures with almost everybody present. So pls its depends on your tribe and available fund. Igbo's celebrate more at 3months than on the 8th day.
