They have CHIP and medicaid. Drugs cost can be reduced if patients are allowed to buy drugs abroad from developed countries and premiums can go down if state barriers are removed.

What should we do when insurance companies go bankrupt because payouts is way too much than they receive in premiums?

Children born with diabetes can either be taken care under their parents insurance if they are employed

If they are from poor families there is CHIP and Medicaid for them

As a nurse, I think back to a day of a 29 year old dad in an isolation bed on an oncology unit I needed to see because of his insurance. He had two small kids on his bed. His condition was critical.

His insurance was through his employer.

But, I wonder if he lost his job, lost his coverage along the way, he could still get coverage through the ACA, Obamacare, because he would have no worry about pre-existing conditions, nor would he have to be concerned about lifetime caps.

Today that changes. Today he can indeed be worried. Republicans have tossed his life aside hither skither. The very people elected to protect this young man may have thoughtlessly left him helpless.

And what about those two little kids, now a little older. Would they lose their daddy? Would they live a life of angst and poverty because at twenty nine years old their dad had cancer and may still or once again need treatment?

And what do these legislators do? They sing "hey, hey, hey good bye" and go party in the Rose Garden at the White House with Donald Trump, a billionaire.

I owned a company and worked 3 jobs, 7 days/week, 5 years ago. One day, suddenly, i got hit with a very rare and potentially terminal disease that effects my brain, heart and liver. i lost my jobs, company and thus, health insurance from my disability- i can rarely even stand upright anymore. No, I'm not making this up.

I always worked harder than anyone else around me, i loved my jobs and was trying to pay back my education. Disease can hit anyone in the blink of an eye and your whole life changes instantly.

I would love for anything other than to be here but i have no choice. I don't use Medicaid for regular checkups and things unrelated to my illness because i don't think that's right, as it's you taxpayers who currently pay for me and I don't want to abuse the program. It is there for emergency, life saving events though, and i have had several. I hope that doesn't make me seem like a lazy moocher- they were life or death moments. If this passes the senate, I'm likely dead. I'm 32.

One of my childhood friends...a non-smoker who works out 5 days a week...has the opposite story. In her mid-50s, she was diagnosed with a heart murmur. She will have her third heart valve replacement surgery next month. Before the ACA, she was in Utah's high-risk pool and paid $1400 a month for insurance. The ACA reduced that monthly fee to $425. If this legislation is passed as is, she will be back in a high-risk pool and paying an exorbitant amount for her health insurance.

Legislation often creates winners and losers. In this case, the losers are the most vulnerable and the winners are the wealthiest people in the country. People who support this measure have no sense of community, and put their healthy bank balances ahead of what is best for the nation. They are truly deplorable.

Obamacare premiums are set to skyrocket an average of 22% for the benchmark silver plan in 2017, according to a government report released Monday.
The price hike is the latest blow to Obamacare. Insurers are raising prices and downsizing their presence on the exchanges as they try to stem losses from sicker-than-anticipated customers. Enrollment for 2017 will be closely watched since insurers want to see younger and healthier consumers enroll.
The benchmark silver plan -- upon which federal subsidies are based -- will cost an average of $296 a month next year. That figure is based on prices for a 27-year-old enrollee in the 39 states that use the federal healthcare.gov exchange, plus the four states and Washington D.C. that have their own exchanges.
