That was exactly what I meant by what I put in bracket. Expectedly, everyone knows that he must have applied to other schools, however you are not meant to put this to the face of any school you applied to. As I stated, it is my opinion, but I also have some experiences that made me give him that piece of advice. Yes, the school knows you have other schools in view, but you should not put it to them, as this may be an insult to them and can stand against you, especially if those other schools are more prestigious. Let's look at this scenerio, for example; as a guy, you may have a girlfriend and many "side chics". You girlfriend may be aware of this and may still stick to you due to certain reasons. You may equally know that your girlfriend is aware of your cheating habits, however you will still continue to hide it even though it's an "open secret". Telling her will have grave consequences even though she already knows.

So, while you have a backup plan which is good, you must appear to each school you applied to as though they are your only plan, and in the worst case, you must express pessimism in your backup plan, by showing that you will only sadly choose them if this particular school rejects you. No school wants to be seen as a Plan B to any student, even though they all know that they are Plan Bs. #my opinion.

Now, let's take a look at the case of this person who got accepted to Harvard, Stanford, and MIT, but got rejected at the University of Kansas that has a 93% acceptance rate. Read some of the pieces of advice offered in the comments section, and you will see that many are of the opinion that Kansas rejected him as a result of his application to other schools which they (Uni of Kansas) know about.

https://www.quora.com/I-got-accepted-by-Harvard-MIT-and-Stanford-but-was-rejected-by-University-of-Kansas-how-do-I-get-over-it

Lol.. I can't laugh oo... But why cheating because it's a bad thing Ooo

Lol, I didn't mean that, Sir. Sevis fee cannot be paid in every First Bank branch, it can only be paid in Western Union designated First Bank branches (the ones with Quick Pay service). There is none is Oyo State, but there are a few in Ogun State, many in Lagos, some in Osun, etc.

Alright big boss

Good evening house and thanks for the congratulatory messages.

My interview was quite short and the VO...very pleasant (honestly he was). Also, I was the first person to be interviewed at the embassy today (NIV). Here is my transcript:

Me: Good morning
VO: Good morning, how are you doing?

Me: Very well thank you
VO: Please pass me your passport and I-20

VO: So what are you going to study in Iowa State University?
Me: I am going for Masters in Business Administration

VO: Nice, so how is it working at ....(my workplace)
Me: Challenging but interesting

VO: I see you have a scholarship, what type of scholarship is it?
Me: It is a research assistanship, which means I will be working with a faculty

VO: So how will you fund the other expenses
Me: I have been sav...(VO helped complete my statement "saving up right"wink (Me: Yes)

VO: How did you find out about the school?
Me: Online research

VO: Have you travelled before?
Me: No

VO: Pick up your visa in....

LOBATAN!.

Honestly, I was in shock the first few minutes after the interview that I had got my visa approved. I really appreciate this great thread because I learnt most (actually everything) about the process here. @Lagosismyhome @Walspring @ElDeeVee, special thanks to you for your time and assistance and special special thanks to my sweet hubby @12inches1, for the encouragement (seriously this US visa journey is not an easy or cheap one).

So, do I have tips...yes I do!
1. Be completely honest: Like LadyG will always says, tell the whole truth. Last year, I was denied a b1/b2 visa but I didn't get worried when I had to apply for F1 because I told the truth in my previous (and of course F1) application
2. Prepare, Prepare and Prepare: I am not saying cram words to tell the VO (definitely not), but please know your stuff (your course, your duties at work, etc). It boosts your confidence level at the interview, even if you end being asked only "what is your name"
3. Ask for God's grace (my most important): Irrespective of what anyone might say, there is a supernatural that controls the natural. Me I told God that I didn't want a stressful interview (all those ones where you have to recount your 4,5yrs experience in school in form of questions) and he answered me.

All the best to those who have not gone for their own interviews and those at other stages of the process too.

1. go to fmjfee.com and register your details for payment.

2. your coupon page will appear when you're through with the registration. scan your coupon page to her.

3. she will make payment using the details on the coupon page.

4. keep checking your fmjfee status until your payment status shows paid. you will get an email to this effect.

5. now, print out your "payment confirmation page".

Good morning Everyone..

My interview was today 12/05/2017 7am slot

It was successful. I just discovered this page literally few days ago and was amazed at the resource available here. Infact i had to quickly create an account to see more. Thank you so much guys. I particularly loved the interview transcript which i must say was an eye opener. I was only able to go through three of the transcript and boy did i love it! Quickly sent the link to a friend who was also scheduled for today.. both of us got approved.

ME; good morning *with a larger than life smile*
VO; good morning

VO; Passport and i-20 please
ME;

VO; Why MBA
ME; I am getting an MBA with concentration in healthcare management and administration. I needed to say that because my i-20 says just general MBA. My first degree is in pharmacy and there are lots of opportunities in healthcare here in Nigeria. A good MBA training will help transform this opportunities into good business. Getting this training will help me harness and utilize the opportunities that litter the healthcare
sector in Nigeria. ''at this point she was nodding in affirmation"

VO; Why GSoU
ME; From the first time i made contact with them, my experience has been amazing. Prompt replies to emails and all the support staff are ever ready to help. 90% of the MBA program professors have spent years working in the corporate sector before delving into the academia and thats very exciting for me cos not only will i get textbook theories from them but also years worth of real world experience which to me is the most important.

VO; Do you have any family and friends in Georgia
Me; No family and friends in georgia.

VO; pick up your Passport at the nearest location.
*returns my i-20*

I went blank. This whole interview took like 45 secs literally.

I made a simple prayer to a powerful God that i wanted the shortest interview ever. And he came through for me. I had all the documents that i could possibly need. My whole life was in that folder but she didnt ask of any.
My advice: Be ready. Cover all the grounds, go over all the questions in your head. I did mock interview with my friend who also got approved today and we both corrected ourselves. But the MVP today is God. Never take for granted the place of grace and favour but you must have done your part.

Thanks to everyone on this platform and everyone who has shared their experiences whether good or bad. They were all very instructional. I am super grateful for what you guys are doing and my only regret is that i didnt discover this platform earlier than i did.
