same wit me too.i was told to do scan to know d foetal weight.this is the 5th scan am doing. i did it in anoda lab recommended by the doc at GH and d result is totally different from the subsequent ones.even d EDD changed to june 9 which is well over 10months and its saying am 36 weeks nd cephalic diagonal. baby weight is 2.49kg.


why is it changed?

Back to Birth Story

It all started on the 20th April, which was my Ante-Natal Clinic appointment, when it was my turn to see the doctor, immediately i entered all he asked for was ''go and get a glove" probably after going through my file he saw the need to know how far I'm doing since i have passed all scans given dates and my LMP date was fast approaching, 25th.

To cut the long story short, he checked me, by inserting his fingers inside my vagina and that alone kept me screaming.... afterwards he asked if i have given birth before, i told him no that I'm a first timer.Then he asked me to come back Monday, 24th April without telling me what he noticed through the examination or what to come for on monday.

Upon getting home that day, I started having mild menstrual like pain, the next day, Friday 21st April, i started discharging mucus plug and by evening, I went for a walk. Around 8pm my sister called and joked about the fact that i didnt her a birthday matecos 21st April is her birthday, of which i simply told her there's still much time to go that she should pray very well. Also a very young boy of 4yrs around, my husband 's nephew who came with his mum to greet my mother in law who were supposed to go back home the next day when his mum told him they are going back home the next day asked his mum "are we not going to see aunty dayo's baby before going?""

And we all laughed about it not knowing something is gonna happen that night. Through the night and early hours of 22nd April, I couldnt sleep, i just kept having contractions that last for a minute within 5 minutes interval. So by 6a.m on 22nd April I kukuma stood up washed my few dirty clothes and took my bathe and by 7a.m i woke DH, told him i need to go and complain as i couldn't sleep through the night and we went together without any bag cos i dont know if what i was feeling was false labour or not...

Thats how we got to the hospital without food and the nurses held me down after getting me checked and said i was already 5cm. They asked DH to go and bring my bag and they started giving me injections saying it will soften the cervix and then i was given a drip with the Almighty Oxytocin injected and thats how the whole drama started.

Mehn i seriously scattered the whole ward, it got to a stage i jumped from the bed to the floor, begging the nurses to remove the drip and later i started prayers and shouting "Lord its beyond me help''
When i couldnt help it any longer i remove the drip by myself....

Later i was taken to the Labour ward 3pm and the pushing process started..na so i push push ooo nothing was forthcoming, i was told i wasnt doing it properly na so so poo poo they come out instead. Then the nurses started begging to try and push that they can see the baby's head..nothing happened, they fixed back the oxytocin and the drama started all over.

When they got tired of everything they started calling the doctors on duty like three of them...they examined me and they said the cervix is tight but the down part is wide enough that i should try pushing down, i tried to no avail. I was later told the baby's head is big....

I was already getting weak through the whole process, I couldnt see properly, i had to really strained my eyes to keep myself alert and from passing out. I was given glucose, more injections to soften the cervix and diclofenac, they called DH to encourage me, i just simply told him "its my life here that i dont think i can go on with Vagina delivery any longer....when all seems not to be working i told them to try other means to get the baby out. Then one of the doctor came with iron instrument, that assisted labour will be required and told me he gonna try bringing out the baby, i think the process is called Forceps Delivery..still it didn't work.

Then I personally requested for Cesarean Section......around quarter to 6 I was wheeled into the theatre. I was injected at the spine but the anesthetist said i wasn't cooperating that she couldn't inject it properly. That she probably wanted me to see the whole process before but as it was I would have to sleep throughout....

The last thing i remembered was I laid down and i was about to injected........

I woke around 10pm, my vision was very blurr, i didnt really get myself either my sister in law who was with me tried making conversations with me in order to me active, even at that state i requested the nurse should allow me see my baby.. She brought him, i couldnt really see his face clearly but i was happy still. She told me the sex and weight of the baby.

N.B
I was told when i was wheeled out of the theatre, i was just rigorously turning my head left and right and looking up like someone that has lost her sanity, at the same time shaking like jelly fish as well as the baby. I had to be injected, after which i slept off while baby was put inside incubator to keep him warn ( i hope this wasnt as a result of the cold water i drank during the pregnancy)

The C.S wasnt planned for cause i already paid fully for normal delivery.

Chai now I got to know i don't have any threshold for pains, ordinary injection i can't stay put, to remove the plaster from the cut site nko.....and i should to think i'm a super hero


Also i stayed at the hospital for 5 days before i was discharged.

Thank God baby is doing fine and well. That was how one sisi nurse told MIL that baby had jaundice because his body was peeling, when i told the doctor about it, she so laughed about it and said she's gonna document it.

His names are Oluwapemilerin (God made me laugh), Daniel, Oluwadarasimi (The Lord is good to me), Charles, Moyinoluwa (I give God the praises), Ebunoluwa (The gift of God) etc.

Yes, i did. Thats their way of doing it.

In my nxt preg journey(which will be d last only if i get twins at d time) by Gods grace, i will take it at least once b4 delivery and after delivery. It will be part of what i will consider b4 registering wt any clinic i will use. I just speak to my baby that it will not have an negative side effect. Docs believe d benefit outweighs d risk but some people dont want to take d injection because of a lot of opinions out there

Please where are you buying hair bands,? I dont want those common ones with lacy bands. The few ones I got came in a set of three but of one colour. So i bought red, Lilac/purple and pink at 2500 each and I'm itching to buy all the colours so right now I'm looking for maybe a pack of 10 or 12 Hair bands of different colours. @zaynie do you have or can you direct me to someone that sells?

It jex my lmp dat has given me 27th June... my 8weeks scan gave me 16th and then other once have always given me 5th June which I sticked with cuz it brings me closer to meeting my lo... Even yesterday scan gave me 5th June...
I think it changes based on foetal growth... are u also experiencing painful contractions and what was your actual due date initially?

no contractions for now.just active braxton hicks. my EDDs at 12, 22,29,33 weeks were 30th/16/12th of may respectively. its only this recent scan at 36 weeks dat gave me 9th of june.

I concur. Firsttymum makes beautiful head bands and it is quite affordable. I bought some from her.

Same happen to me,i wear more dan 3top per day Nd change bra frequently since I didn't have breast pad.i jst got a manual breast pump Nd it work wonders,i have to express milk out nd dispose it since I have enough.dis really prevent my breast frm been engorged.

I don't have a breast pump yet...I use my hand to express and dispose.. Its been helpful

Let me rant here. I Dnt knw aw its doin me. I experience unexplainable pain on thursday.fr stomach thighten to menstral pain to urinatin every 5mins. I culdnt put my legs 2geda,sweatin lyk chicken & my right leg hooked me,i culdnt walk well. I managed d pain til afta work cos my princpal wasnt around 2get permisn frm. Got 2d hospital after work only 4d nurse 2say its false contraction since i didnt c mucus plug or water breakin. I Went back home&slept and D pains later subsided. Now 2day saturday, i woke up experiencin low-back pain.i cant stand right,av bin lyin dwn since mornin. I dnt knw wat 2do.i dnt want 2b sent back. Am 37wks accd 2 Lmp. 39wks accd 2all scans. as long as is a flask,it will work.I took a massive 3l flask to hospital for my daughter and it even helped coz we didn't hv to be asking for hot water everytime.

There is no need buying baby flask again once the stainless steel flask can keep liquid hot or cold.
Ogunpa market close to Akinlapa is cheaper with lots of baby things. If your bump is already showing, it will be difficult for you so get things at wholesale price except you are good at pricing things and the bump will also make them to be dragging you at the market which is why i went there when i wasn't showing so they thought am one of them that came to buy and sell.
