So it is the non Christians that should engage in political rallies? Imagine what a Nigerian is posting when we should all be on d street protesting d hardship both past and present government is inflicting on d masses. We all keep mute cos we r afraid of protest and believe God will see us through. You have to fight for what you want. |

The sad thing is that you will see these christians going to such places after agreeing to the fact that it is not good for them to be there. 24 "Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. 25 The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, but it did not collapse because it had been founded on rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, and it collapsed; it was utterly destroyed!" Matt 7:24-27 But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves. Jam 1:22 |

It's easy to avoid 1-6 but nos 7 is very hard to avoid. You have points in your write ups but to tell people to avoid prosperity preaching churches is not ideal IMO |

Op. was very subjective... Not assertive... but wonderful points and suggestions. Then you choose what to do... I weep for Nigeria... we can't attain greatness with the kind of youths we have... Read through the comments here and you will realize that... Very disturbing future mothers and Father, lacking in interpretation of facts... Baseless, in constructive criticism... That's why we lack the morale to question the idiosyncratic democracy practiced in Nigeria by the Ghana must go carrying politicians... |

Well am told that as a Christian i can involve in politics if i want to, instead of making ungodly people rule over a state or s country and embezzle the country's money and other corruption practices. I will contest so that i can make things right. |

newsynews:In as much as I agree with you on the list, I strongly disagree on numbers 3 and 4. Only in Nigeria is politics seen as a dirty game. Be that as it may, things are changing now. All we need as a people is change our orientation and vote right. If we ignore political rallies, where we can voice our opinions and support or cheer our preferred candidate to victory, if the wrong candidate grabs the position, it will affect us in every way...economically, religiously, socially, academically...etc and when we're affected, we MUST not complain of marginalisation or corruption. Also, Protest is a means of channelling our grievances to either the government or our employers. It's necessary Christians participate if the protest is in the common interest of us all. If not for the series of protests staged in lagos and other cities during the military era, we would not have had democracy today. I once experienced military government misrule in the mid 80s. I can't forget a day when one of my twin brothers was coming from work in ring road area of Ibadan early 90s, when military bullet flew across his nose suddenly. Eni olorun o pa, Oba kan ko Lee paa( he/she who God doesn't kill, no king can dare kill the person). He only smelled the bullet and heard the sound as it whizzed past his nose. I'll always pray soldiers don't come back again to our streets because Nigeria was like a lawless state and a wilderness. Military would kill, maim, molest, rape , harass citizens anyhow, no freedom of speech, nothing. Protest drove them to their barracks perpetually. On the social media thing, I'd also like to say a few things about it because it has done a lot of people more evil than good. I heard a lady pastor preach last week in America that if you're not happy in your marriage, you can stage a walk out because God wants you to be happy, she was even quoting the scriptures to back her claims. She said many have complained about the bible, being full of many errors which need to be corrected...she said most of those laws on marriage don't apply in the present day life...well, I leave that to God to decide because she even said she prayed for God's inspiration and direction before mounting the pulpit and He laid some scriptures verses into her heart. Dating sites are becoming highly patronised these days and many are falling victims of scam and frauds. I read of a medical doctor recently, who met a girl on bado dating site and the lady drugged him in the hotel room and drove his vehicle away...in some cases, guys would be left lifeless in the the bed in the hotel room by demonic girls they met online and vice versa. Ladies are being declared missing everyday . They always say they met their male partners on social media . Christians should be careful when visiting the dating sites because it's very risky. Hardly can one found mannered and good wife material on those sites and vice versa. There are Christians' dating sites which are recommendable. |
