Op,your source is unreliable and I think you are the owner of the website.
Where did you get your data from...
Where did you make the research...
You probably copied an article from a foreign website and pasted on your blog...
I won't be surprised if you did not major in any Health related profession but decided to blog about health, cos anything goes in Nigeria.
Godbless u

So you never knew that the brain is the fattest organ in human body. Some of you need to read , listen , and learn.
the2:
I lost interest the minute OP said "BRAIN IS MADE UP OF FAT " , maybe ur own brain not mine , cos i av seen the brain before and its not fat. And i'd just like to say being underweight is still better than being overweight.

OP, my BMI is well above 18.5 but people keep saying I am underweight. Are you sure of this metric? Anyway, for other experts in the house- I am 6.1666ft (1.87 meters), and I weigh just 61kg. 61 divided by 1.87 equals 32.6. I really wish I could weigh like 70kg. I have been trying to gain weight for the longest time now. I am in my mid 30s by the way.
I'm very sure you are underweight without doing the calculation. How can you be 1.87m and your weight is 61kg? Guy, u need to add flesh to your bone. I'm 6.2ft in height and 95kg by weight and I'm sure I'm not overweight.

OP, I am 168 to 169cm in height and weight 55kg, age 30 years old. Am I underweight? I have been trying to increase my weight for a while now but nothing. I do eat. Someone told me to go and get married, that I will increase in weight.
Pls, tell me how I can increase in weight and also if possible in height also.
Thanks

There is no correlation between getting married and weight gaining unless piling up fat. That can occur as you age but in some individuals it hardly seen.

For you to gain weight, you have to increase your muscle mass with bodybuilding along with right dieting.

You are not underweight based on your BMI findings.

Your BMI is 19.5 (using ht = 168cm) & that's ok. There is nothing u can do about your height again at this age of yours but u can increase your weight. Try eating 3-4 times a day, eat nuts to increase your appetite for food, eat banana or take smoothies every morning when you wake up & do some exercise every morning like stretching. If you can keep to this for like 3months you will see the difference

First of all, thank you for this OP

Next. All you Einsteins that have Phds in putting up poopy (or sh*tty) comments, who could have just opened another tab on their browsers to confirm facts before sh*tting all over the thread, una well done. You couldn't politely dispute brain cells being made of fat. You just had to tell the OP that only his brain is made of fat cells. Why? You got served anyway. Then there was the guy who started it all, rudely disproving the entire post and included the OP's professional qualification. What guts! OP, I need throat shoving tutorials please. Your reply was a "Shove down your throat", Platinum edition. What was that thing about measuring height in metre square? *sigh* 50kb or less, of googling, could have saved you but no. Wee-wee all over the place.

Lastly, my BMI is 18.8. Beans, malt and milk abi? Got it! I am a 6.1that weighs 65kg. I feel terrible.

Oh, the "tnx" - "whick" pair, LOL.

Before nko i own the website, are you underweight or are those two pics there your family members

how did you know is unreliable, and for your information before anything goes on my blog i do the research, as a medical physiologist i know for a fact that below a certain weight limit is dangerous for ones health.

And oh Most of my points are from my basic sembulingam and guyton not foreign websites. Youd do yourself well to learn and stop criticizing.

My dear no mind some people, only on nairaland to criticise and castigate others.
You will never see any educative post from them.
Busybody, must it be her research before its purpose is been achieved?
Re: Health Risks Of Being Too Skinny Or Underweight by LogicStatement: 4:22pm On May 14, 2017
BMI = Weight (Kg) รท Height 2 (m 2 )
If BMI is
below 18.5 (19)= Underweight
between 19-24 = Normal
between 25-29 = Overweight
30 and above = Obese

Before you castigate others, have u checked your BMI? Your BMI is 26.6 that means you're overweight but not obese. You need to put an eye on your weight

LogicStatement:

Your calculation is incorrect. His BMI is 16.4 & that's underweight!

I never made that calculation. You can see clearly the source: World Health Organisation.

BMI = 55 kg / (1.69*1.69m2) = 55/2.85 = 19.2

Your current BMI is 23.8 which is okay. 60kg won't be a bad idea too as your BMI would be 22.

For BMI, 18.5-25 is the normal weight range.

Thank You for the observation. Thank God I'm not obese, one of the reasons is that I don't drink alcohol but I realize I'm lazy in the area of exercise.
