At this level, Rooney should not be used the way he is being used except if asked to play CM. He plays behind the the striker while keeping an eye on Wanyama. Rooney should be used when we have legs to carry the ball to him in attacking zone. Not when we play him with Mata, Tuanzebe, Carrick. We are even missing full backs who can go forward.
But Mata and Lingard didn't even come to the party. Abi you see them?

While I might agree we need a massive overhaul, I wonder why at the beginning of the season almost everyone agreed we had a competitive squad but now led to believe they are not good enough anymore in just less than a year.

Let the massive clear out begin. As long as it banishes Jose from being defensive that's ok.

My anger with Mourinho in this match was him bringing in Mhiki, Rashford and Co. I mean our key players like Rojo, Ibra and Zlatan are out of the finals. Why risk the few quality ones we need for the finals?

What if Mhiki or Rash got injured? Since he's given up on top 4, he'd preserve those he wants for the finals and play feeders team for the rest of the matches. I don't want few key players like Herrera getting injured.

Was Mata even in that match? Did anyone see him? How would you make bad decisions when you were not even available to decide? At least Rooney we saw. He even have three great passes.

The question is why can't we play our own game instead of trying to defend? We should not allow opposition to build easily. All our forwards and midfielders retire to our half immediately we lose the ball thereby giving the opposition plenty space to plan and build.

The moment we decided to play a high defence and attack, Tottenham became afraid. They were even wasting time. So why can't we always play our game?

Smalling was actually shaking, I hope he gains his confidence before the Europa final. I think Jones should be allowed to play on the right side of defence to get the ball out of defence faster. Smalling is poor on the ball and Jones cant use left foot, so none of them is getting the ball out comfortably. However, with return of Valencia in the Europa final, we could get comfortable going forward from the back.

Wayne Rooney might not be the Wayne we used to know, but he gave three perfect final passes that could have resulted in goals.

Lest I forget, Mata, Lingard and Mkhitaryan didn't come to work today.
