This post is mainly for my fellow bachelor brothers in the house ladies too are not exempted, share a memory of some mistakes you make or made while cooking as a bachelor.... Let me share mine, prepared thus sumptuous and palatable egusi soup that really tasted nice only for me to realize at the end that I did not add any vegetable.... Chai see gbege, Any ways I ate the soup like that o till it finished as seeing it as a waste to go buy vegetable and start putting in already done soup.... Lol. I cooked rice and the water evaporated and smoke was everywhere and the fire alarm went off I had to open the door put the fan on the neighbouring house everyone came outside smoke pouring out the door and I'm like... Don't worry I'm just cooking lol that was very imbarresing

mine was a bit hilarious kinda, i was used to washing noodles before cooking it, and adding salt to the noodles... but that was then sha (abt 4 years ago) before my gf gave me a nice tutorial

Too many times having slept while cooking then waking up looking for iron sponge sellers

Here are a couple of mine.

1. Cooking jollof rice or stew with too much oil. I noticed that food tend to taste better with oil, so I increased the amount of oil significantly in my cooking. I had no idea at the time, but looking back, I see this must have contributed a lot to my fat weight gain.

2. Cooking jollof rice without oil. In my quest to loose all the weight I had gained, I came about a diet high in carbohydrate and low in fat, recommending eating without oil. I prepared jollof rice that night; mixing diced onions, seasoning and spices in a pot, boiling in a small amount of water before finally adding rice to cook. The result is the blandest jollof rice I ever ate.

3. Burnt tuna fish: I was having a really bad day. For some reasons I decided to cook some fish I had stacked in my fridge for a while, Perhaps to drown my sorrow in. Unfortunately, while I sat in the bed moping over my misfortunes, I fell asleep. By the time I reawoke about 30 minutes later, I rush to the pot, all that was left were the fish pieces, blackened and stuck to the base of the pot. I remember sitting at the table that evening chewing the burnt, bitter tasting remain of the fishes, trying to convince myself that they were not really burnt. In the end, I just had to dispose the fish.

Then I was a student. I con put rice for fire added sachet tomato, maggi everything. I con go sit down relax say food go soon ready. By the time i go back go check, the pot no make any sound of boiling. I con open pot see rice don swell, con soft join. Na cooking by soaking. Omo ashey the wire of the cooker don shake.
na so i eat am buh i know say no be food I eat that day.

What came out at the end earned me a nickname that stuck throughout my school days - Mr. Stewp

When I was 11, I was asked to cook yam porridge. I really put my mind to it. In the end, I got something that wasn't even close to yam porridge. The slices of yam were standing singly in the pot. I practically steamed the ogwu leaves for not upto 2 minutes which made things worse. To cap it all, the food was bland and not well cooked. Everyone in the house teased me about it. I was really embarrassed.

this happen when i was still in school after exam..dont want to go home early.
collect my girlfriend key,go to her room to check if she still have foodstuff..saw ogbono(docanut) and decide to cook it..told my friends and they have already hustle for garri
.. they never knw i hv never cooked draw soup before. after adding everything that comes to my head,the soup started boiling but it did not draw..the ogbono is in one corner,paper in another corner,fish in the middle..everything just give each other 2 yarda inside the pot..i just have to throw the soup away and withdraw my transport to take my guys to the school canteen.

This one happen in school..we want to go watch night match in s.u.g lodge inside the campus..told our hostel mate that dont fancy football to cook spagetti before we comeback,bought everything for him.
never knew this niggar dont knw how to cook. we came back he was still cooking(baba na spagetti you dey cook since,my niggar say water never dry). after 30mins he brought the food and call everyone..we all came out from our rooms to eat..the first thing we noticed is too much groundnut oil and water..eating the food like that we notice different side with different taste..one side is salty,another with too much spice(maggi)),then another side with no taste at all..everyone hv to leave the food for him..drank garri that night to bed

I end up cooking food i can't even eat... Especially beans ... There's this type of beans I like so much... All attempts to copy and prepare it ends in heartbreaks...
