ok. thanks for the reply. Was it a naira master card u used to make the transfer? the school stated they can't receive our local currency. So how did u convert the Naira to CAD or did u pay in naira with ur master card?

The flywire is a payment processor. You open an account on the site and use the details to make your payment. It's pretty straightforward once you sign up, you select where payment is going and how much in CAD after which a list of possible payment methods to flywire will be given which include use of credit card MasterCard and Visa, or the procedure for use of form A from Nigeria. I used a credit card and sent 11k VB card for tuition and part of living and feeding expenses using flywire..... Very straightforward procedure.

I got admission from same college and my payment was made through flywire which I paid through my gtb bank.I will advice you to print the payment instruction from flywire along side your admission letter and take it to your bank.I had few challenges too because my banker said that cbn instructed them not to pay any 3rd party but directly to the school but i pointed to my admission letter where the college stated that payment should be made through fly wire and my banker agreed.
The college received my payment after 1week of filling the form A.Go back to your bank and make them understand this.
All the best

i thought form A is used when the account details of s school is specified? Dunno if am wrong tho but Fanshawe has no Account details. Have taken my admission letter and the page where d payment medium is instructed to Diamond,UBA and Eco Banks. all said they can't treat that. Am so confused

Hello Geofellow I can't but comment on ur post, first of all, it's a hard way you are about to walk, I don't know how you intend going about your visa application without having the issue of purpose of visit as a refusal excuse, to be honest with you, its so difficult convincing a VO u want to go for fashion when your UG is in geology, what have you been doing since graduation? When did you graduate? why are u going from geology to fashion? why can't you obtain this in Nigeria? I'll advice u for d sake of visa process go for related courses like GIS and d likes. If u read through dis thread u'll see d difficulty encountered in cases like this during visa application. Am a geologist and I know how lucrative is d course. Its a red flag with ur choice of course. Don't dash VFS 55470 just like that bro, change ur course if you want to live dat Canada dream. Sop in ur case would have a lot of "WHY" to explain to d VO.

I also paid through flywire, had the same problem when trying to pay, the bank said no 3rd party, so I contacted the school and I was told they don't give out there bank details for security reasons, my brother ended up paying through flywire from paris, and the school got it in few days, and immediately I got an official receipt from the school. Goodluck.

Kindly assist guide me. I graduated with 2.1 mech engineering 2011 and have been working with the bank since 2014. I intend to run a masters programme in Canada. Is it convenient to switch to MBA because of my banking experience since i am in business development or continue M.eng in mech engineering?

Which will be an easier process for me?

its now the 18th week for me. no info yet from cic. sent them a mail last week monday. no reply till now. any advice please?

Bro, any update on your app? If not, I think it's high time you mailed the Canadian Deputy High Commissioner.

lagos@international.gc.ca and/or Abuja@international.gc.ca You can also copy the Immigration Minister @ Minister@cic.gc.ca

The new minister, Honourable Ahmed D. Hussen MP is quite pro-active and responsive from what I heard. Try your luck from that angle.

Let them know your application has exceeded the processing time by several weeks. Ensure to include necessary details particularly the date of submission and the current processing time applicable to study permit applications in Nigeria.

Regards.

raise a bank draft in your name... Thats the second option in the letter from CIC... It's easy if you have your cash

Most banks dont do foreign drafts anymore...the few that stil issue, will only deal in GBP or EUR.

Please guys... help with information on this... please please....

bjayNL:
Good job here I must say... honestly. .. Seun needs to reward you guys... *doffs hat*

Here is my issue....

I tried looking for a thread to put this but I couldn't locate one easily.

1. I want to go work and live in Canada. I already have my first degree. Which is a 2.2. So applying for masters in Canada might be a waste of time..

2. I did research on work visa, which brings me to this point.
a. I know about the IELTS which I should be writing in about 2 months by God's grace.
b. I also know that NOC classification of the kind of job that is readily needed in canada are Class 00 and Skill type 0,A and B of which cooking and catering falls into. An aspect I am looking at as my mum has been catering before I was born so I learnt. This is aside my 1st degree in Geology.
c. I plan on getting some professional qualifications in Catering to add up to boost my credentials.

3. I am 27 years old and single. I hope to get a work permit. Then convert to permanent residency permit when I have worked in canada for a while ..

4. On the minimum of $12300CAD must it be my statement of account or I can get a sponsor.

Please Experts in the house.. guide me on way forward. How do I go about this work visa...
ARe all this plan in place?
Is it visible or is there any other process I should work towards as basic.

I do understand ur dreams bro, but the issue as I said still lies with convincing the VO, its a difficult nut to crack sincerely, d good thing now is dat u are fresh out of school, get a course inline with geology for visa purpose. You can always change to another program on arrival in Canada, by den the VO gat no say on what u would like to go for. If canny is where you wanna be, u just have to do the needful to get wot u want. Bear in mind you have no first hand experience in fashion as u are fresh outta school. If am in your shoes i'd do what I proposed to u. Al the best just think it through.

''Co-ops are a joint venture between the university, a selected employer, and you''. It is a structured method of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. For Co-op, you have to apply for a work permit as well as a study permit.
