Guys please i just accepted my offer to Memorial University Newfoundland for MSc programme... like seriously i dont even know what next to do, though the next step is supposed to be study permit but the criteria requires bank statement which right now i dont have but hopefully to get later.

I need advise can i skip that step and move ahead with other steps or is it better for me to find a way around it now and later when i actually gets fund means i could replace.

Thanks.
Please can you send me ur number let's talk aykay. I also applied but my status is yet to Change

Good day my people!!! Please I need information as regards the University of Manitoba. I applied for a masters (may/July) and according to the graduate assistant my application as been reviewed and found to be acceptable just that ive not been able to secure a supervisor since January. Now I checked my account and it says under review in graduate studies of which it has been under review in department since. I would like to know should I be expecting a reject due to the fact that I didn't receive an mail from a staff stating he wants to accept me and all that. Thanks for your replies

You've been advised to contact the school but i will also like to ask you whether you chose a thesis based program or coursed based program. Reason being all thesis based program is often based on availability of supervisors unlike course based.

My advise is to see whether you can switch to course based if not too late as this may not require getting a supervisor. Goodluck

NB: Some course based program also require supervisors.

Please relax. I see you are still a teenager and going for UG so I believe a VO would not scrutinize your application too much as you are not a huge immigration risk. You need to really make sure your application is satisfactory from the finance to your forms.

If you have the funds then try Australia and also Germany, but I'd advise not to give up. There is a God

For those of us who havent submitted an application for a study permit. Kindly read this http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-how-documents.asp#doc3

Where i'm trying to lay emphasis on is the Section 3 which talks about Proof of Financial Support and then a part that says......

.......If there are foreign-exchange control measures in your country, you must provide proof that the exchange control authorities will allow you to export funds for all of your expenses......

I think we can easily provide proof by including the CBN circular and if possible, get a letter from the Bank on the new CBN (Exchange Control Authority) to the Embassy and that the amount required for tuition and/or living expenses as the case may be, will be allowed for exporting. I think we can also mention this in our SOP/LOE under the financial matters section.

This i guess may reduce the processing time on our application if documents on 'getting funds exported to Canada' are added to our application even from the on set.

Note: the Webpage was also updated this month - 1st May, 2017

That was what I did when I submitted my application. I applied to my bank(Zenith Bank) for a special embassy letter(it requires approval of their ED though) to write the embassy confirming my balance and also confirming the quoted sum can be utilized for tuition and PTA.

It took two days to process. In the letter they confirmed the balance in my account and stated the Canadian dollars equivalent using the exchange rate for that day, then they stated that the quoted funds can be exported for tuition and Personal Traveling Allowance via form A based on the CBN policy on foreign exchange. Then I attached those two CBN circulars too.

Banks don't issue draft in convertible currency anymore and u can't open a Canadian bank account since u haven't had ur study permit yet, so u can go for the last option of putting the money in your account and attaching the cbn circular or better still u can pay ur one year fees to the school
