Per DOJ guidelines, Director Mueller, as special counsel, will only turn in his recommendation to the Justice Department and Congress. He can't issue an indictment against a sitting president because, in the OLC's opinion, the president is a unique office holder.

If Mueller's report finds that Trump was directly involved in a treasonous plot to influence the US election, or in some other crime, the House of Reps could commence impeachment proceedings against the president: it that is highly unlikely given the current composition of the House.

Well, shit. We (patriotic Americans) know that we could easily squash a lefty uprising, but of course we would prefer not to. However, at some point we may have no choice but to use the last resort option.

Think about it this way: let's say you're carrying a concealed weapon for personal safety, and someone gets up in your face and starts yelling at you. You know you could solve the problem by shooting them, but that would be a major overreaction, not go well legally, and be immoral as it violates the NAP by suddenly amplifying the use of force. Well, that's the situation we've been in with the left for a long time now.

They have been screaming in our faces for years, getting louder and louder. And worse, a crowd has formed, picking our pockets and insulting us while we take this abuse. Yet, we still do not shoot. We still hope and pray that the situation can be solved peacefully. We hope that reason and civility will win out, and that by remembering our morals and standards we can weather the storm by maintaining our integrity.

At this point it appears that the left is attempting to totally undermine our system, and by extension, our way of life, and our kids' future. They are actively attempting to impose upon us an existential threat to our nation. This is equivalent, perhaps, to the person going from screaming at you to pulling out a knife.

For the love of God, I hope the left realizes that we are armed. They still have time to turn back. All they need to do is stop actively attempting to take over our country.

At the end of the day there is a lot more in common between most people who identify as a member of either of these political sets of ideas or 'parties' than they have differences. Why would we want to undergo such a massive change to just about everything in the country to see if it would smooth things over. It likely wouldn't and would cause further conflict later on. WE all need to realize that we are in this together and the loudest people on all sides are the crazy ones and listening to them, and believing for a second that they are representative of the whole is a mistake that will only further divide us and make us weak.

We gotta stick together, talk to each other and find common ground before we start entertaining the idea of tearing this country apart. Together, for over 200 years we have built the greatest nation on earth, and to let that dissolve because of some political differences would be the greatest slap in the face to all of those who have worked, and died for this amazing democracy and country.

If they succeed in removing the democratically-elected President from office, I genuinely worry about a sudden and massive uptick in civil unrest (i.e. our side will have had enough), probably leading to a "state of emergency" and eventual civil war.

It's totally true. I'm going to use this opportunity to vent a bit as it seems to be on topic with how I've been feeling.

The night Trump won, I remember feeling this sense of relief. That we are safe. We have won and we are going to MAGA. Ever since then, I have not been able to enjoy that relief because the liberals have spent their every breath trying to remove President Trump and undermine everything he does. This may sound silly, but it hurts my heart for Trump. That they are doing all this to him when he is literally... working for us, the people. The media successfully painted him as this monster (which he isn't and we know this) but those mindless people only have the opinions of what they should be thinking. So they believe it because that's what they've been told to believe.

Can you imagine how much better we could already be if they would let him work? Can you imagine how much more prosperous and comfortable we could potentially be? Now can you imagine never being able to witness his full potential because the left won't let him work? That... is what bothers me the most. That we are on the brink of a new American era that, more than likely, will never be fulfilled because of the left. Its terrible.

You know, I've been considering things I've never considered before, I've thought of things I've never thought of before and I don't know what I can do. Shitposting on TD is fun but there is a greater calling for me somewhere. I want to DO something but I don't know what. Donald Trump's campaign made contact with Russia at least 18 times during his presidential race, according to a new report.

The interactions had previously been kept secret by the campaign but are now being reviewed as part of the FBI and congressional investigation into Trump's relationship with Russia.

Conversations between members of Trump's team and high-ranking officials including setting up a special backchannel for communications between the President and Putin, Reuters reported. That would allow the two talk without involving US national security officials.

Such discussions accelerated after Donald Trump won the election, in November.

The 18 calls and electronic messages took place between April and November 2016 as hackers engaged in what US intelligence concluded in January was part of a Kremlin campaign to discredit the vote and influence the outcome of the election in favour of Trump over his Democratic challenger, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

Those discussions focused on mending US-Russian economic relations strained by sanctions imposed on Moscow, cooperating in fighting Islamic State in Syria and containing a more assertive China, the sources said.

In January, the Trump White House initially denied any contacts with Russian officials during the 2016 campaign. The White House and advisers to the campaign have since confirmed four meetings between Kislyak and Trump advisers during that time.[/s]

The people who described the contacts to Reuters said they had seen no evidence of wrongdoing or collusion between the campaign and Russia in the communications reviewed so far.

Veterans of previous election campaigns said some contact with foreign officials during a campaign was not unusual, but the number of interactions between Trump aides and Russian officials and others with links to Putin was exceptional.

"It's rare to have that many phone calls to foreign officials, especially to a country we consider an adversary or a hostile power," Richard Armitage, a Republican and former deputy secretary of state, told Reuters.[/s]

Had conversations with people laughing at the idea of anyone voting for Trump, literally laughing at the idea of it. I thought, who would vote for the guy with a reality show? But in all honesty, I wasn't watching during the primaries, I watched Bill Maher and that was about it. I liked Bernie, and at first, so did Bill, he even had him on his show a bunch.

Then, slowly, Bill Maher started saying things like "I like Bernie but let's face it, the guy isn't going to win" and "if you can't have the chicken, order the fish. Don't go for the shit sandwich." and of course I'm yelling "What the Bleep Bill Maher! You turned on Bernie before he even lost! A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE VOTING FOR BERNIE YOU Bleep! HILLARY IS A CROOK! EMAILS!! GODDAMMIT BILL!!". But.. I knew where this was going, someone was getting played as a favorite, and Bernie wouldn't win. I needed a backup.

I then read up on all candidates policies and noticed Trump hated the TPP - ok, well that's good, I hate that too. While Clinton claimed to be against the TPP I very well knew she had called it the gold standard of trade bills and she was talking out of her ass. He also was against illegal immigration, which I am also against as a legal immigrant. Bleep illegal immigrants! Ok, so this guys policies aren't so bad. Around January 2016, I thought ok, worse comes to worse, I'll vote Trump.

Then the Orlando shooting happened. Mass censorship across Reddit which led me here. Then the Wikileaks hit. Then all shit went down and I KNEW I had made the right choice.

“When he ran he was this tough guy,” Jones said Thursday night on “Anderson Cooper 360.” “This guy who’s going to get things done, this great negotiator.”
