....The USA is cool likewise, but I do not have my 2+ years experience in a 100+ bedded hospital so I felt may be if I apply for my CES, write my Nclex and pass solely just may be Avant would consider me ,and help with getting an employment offer, but then again auschris said it took him like 8months to have that done, n errr... Cgfns evaluation taking about 1yr I really don't plan spending that long in Naija, I don tire for here Walai grin....

I got my CES report in 3months. That is after all relevant bodies (SON, Council) submitted the required documents.
If you are in a hurry though, you can pay an expediated fee of $250. For a shorter duration of 10days, that is after all required items have been submitted.

CES report not "the other one".
CGFNS will tell you 10weeks after receipt of all documents. Got mine at the 13th week after much calling and shouting. Way back in April 2015
Though I heard they r really lousy this time around ranging from placing you on hold for long and not delivering on time . I know someone who paid for expediated service, instead of the stipulated 10days, she got it in 3weeks plus with plenty of shouting on the phone...

Let me share with you guys some information that may be useful. Recently my wife has been getting numerous offers to work in the USA. But now the sponsors are not able to proceed because my wife works in UAE as a home nurse. According to the sponsors they require nurses who have recent 1 year experience in ICU,Critical care, A&E,acute care etc. They also require you to work in a ward of about 50-100 beds. Now my wife has CGFNS and IELTS but she is tied cos she is with only one patient or 2 max per day. So please make una no go family planning department o...stay in the ward and apply to all those agents in USA. they are willing to guide you into transitioning to USA at ZERO cost.

Kind regards.

Please anyone knows what options my wife has to enable her do a bridge program and work at the same time in USA

Pls state this agencies, I meet the criteria buh I dnt have cgfns yet

Wow thanks so much for the info, really came in handy.... Time is much of a factor to me.

Another question is when you get the ATT, you choose a convenient date for you, then you travel to write the NCLEX, does the visa granted to take the exam cover you to stay till after you get the result, then to do other requirements from there?

Plus how long did it take you to get your ATT after applying to your states BON, that is after the CES report was ready?

Just for clarity...... The checklist provided by the AGOS 40 only requested that transcript letters from schools confirming that your course was taught and assessed solely in English language be included in the package to be sent, that's if you are going through the primary language or extended pathways , you are exempted from this since you have your IELTS requirements. I don't think your institution is required to send to them any paper work, its all suppose to be done by you.

I might be wrong though, just wanted to clarify

mamajaz:

Those stuffs will be sent by the school, I have requested for it and have been called from the school that they are ready. Will get there on Friday before the school send their package to see the checklist I made for them, if not available, then the course outline should suffice.

1.when you get ATT, you choose a convenient date. Yes.
You travel to write your exam, but do not over stay your initial stamp in which is about 6months on a B1/B2..
Getting ATT varies with BON. Got mine under 4hrs with Nevada, I then endorsed to Texas after nclex and afterwards West Virginia. Texas moves fast to give you a temporary or permanent licence once all your requirements are received on time. Likewise other states.

The school will send accreditation reports during my training and course content on medication administration or whatever, so av asked them to include the academic and professional transcripts.

Rundown of the process is same all through as has been stated on this forum.
IELTS
CGFNS CES report (transcripts from SON, licence verification from nursing council)
Apply to a BON and get approved after they receive CES
Register for nclex with pearsonvue
Get ATT
Schedule and write your nclex
Pass nclex
Proceed to visa screen
Get an employer /sponsor for EB3 (mine is passportusa)
File i140 ( done by employer)
Get application approved
Attend interview at embassy
Get visa approved and that's it.

The steps outlined above is how I did mine.
There are other routes too. Like going to the agencies direct like Avant, passportusa etc who will now prep you for nclex and all. Mine was solely DIY.

Thanks much for the rundown, just a quick question please, am applying for the state of Texas as my BON, n am having a lil issue with the NLC section. Upon declaring a non compact state as my primary state of residence, which is the state where I reside in Naija, am I suppose to still fill the parts for the states which I intend to practice nursing #Electronically #Telephonically #Physically, as I am eligible for a single state license only...... It's quite confusing, gone through the links provided n it's still not clear, dunno the BON you applied for, but you said something bout endorsing a state n all, so I presume you might have an idea.

And again when paying for your BON application how did you go about it? Texas insists it's done by a check drawn from a bank in the US, which means I have to get someone in the US, pay him the stipulated amount, then he'd write me a check, which he sends down to Naija, which I'd now forward with the application form to the stated address in the US, it's really a process..... Was yours any different?

Well, I don't know what you mean by NLC.
I just printed the forms off the internet, filled them as required. But I ticked the area that said "for candidates who reside outside Texas " as an international candidate.What I know is that;
You do not qualify to apply online which maybe what you are trying to do as you are an IEN(internationally educated nurse). You only qualify to send in a paper application. So print out the application forms on TBON and get to it.
*Endorsement means moving/transferring your licence to another state after you have been licenced by a state. This means you don't need to take nclex anymore just fulfil the requirements of the intending state and qualify for a license.
Payment.... Yes, it requires money order or check drawn on a US bank. I was in the US when I processed mine so it wasn't much of a problem.just bought the money order from Walmart. You can forward your application to someone in the US, have them buy a money order of the stated amount and send along with the package (application) in the same envelope.
You can pm me so I frwd TBON application instructions to you.

Plus tried sending a pm, don't Know how to go about it, not really gotten the hang of nairaland, please I do need the application Instruction, can you kindly send it to me via pm
