My alma mater just introduced a new program I.e biophysics and presently they lack much lecturers especially in that field. Acquiring a degree in this field will make me to be at the forefront and able to contribute my own quota to the development of the new program. I also see it as an opportunity of quickly getting into system thereby achieving my career goal of being a lecturer. Please help me look at this reason if it is OK to convince a VO for going for m.sc physics but major in biophysics.

Haha! Sure boy, But wait Oo. Someone told me I can use dropbox in Naija to renew, If that is the case. Can't I send my pp, ead and other docs to folks in Naija to process it via DHL. Would my presence be required to thumbprint or any shit whatsoever?
I just want to enter naija and leave without disturbing a fly.

I guess this should answer your fear and question.

Hello ddare05,
Please do not ship passports through the mail - it is very risky for him to be in the U.S. without proper documentation and the risk of theft or loss is too great. The visa is what allows people to appear at the border and seek entrance - the CBP in conjunction with the SEVIS status are what determine how long a student can stay. If your son wants to travel to Nigeria, he will need to have a valid visa for his return - if that is after April 2017, then he could apply for Dropbox while he is visiting Nigeria.
Regards,
Student Visa Team

Dear Visa Team,
My daughter's F1 Visa would expire in August this year. She will be coming to Nigeria in early July for her sibling's wedding and return end of July. Her school would resume early August.
I sought for advice from the International Advisor she's attached to, on what she would need to do to maintain her status.
The advice I got was that nothing was really required from her except to register for the Fall semester before travelling out of USA. Reading the advice quoted above, it appears to me that she should renew her F1 visa in Nigeria before returning to the USA. If this is the correct situation, can she renew the visa before expiration? Her visa wouldn't expire until early August 2017 and she would return last week in July 2017.

GTB charged me N406/$ today for application fee of $20
Timi1990:

1. Gtbank and Accessbank allow you use your debit card but their rate is now more than black market rate .
2. Abeg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you like yourself open domiciliary account now and fund the account with enough cash before coming here. Also make sure you request for the dollar card and test it in Naija before leaving. You buy small stuff on amazon just to be sure the card is working perfectly.
All the best .

Funny enough, it would have been available to pick up today. If you checked your appointment booking page, you would see your visa is ready for collection. For now, enjoy the hustle and bustle of Lagos

You mean about 4 courses you didn't registered for in a semester your departmental lecturer gave you E and your course adviser used it to process your result, then your HOD and your faculty dean signed it, all those profs for senate sat down together approved it?

Ha! Ha!! Ha!!! Something is not right at all.

Are you serious or you are kidding or you fomulated this theory? because even waec exam if you didn't go for a single subject, waec won't put F but instead write absent in front of the subject.

It is not possible to get E in about 4 courses you didn't registered for because the course form your submitted is what will be used to process your semester result and I find it hard to believe that what is not on the course form that you submitted was recorded for you as E..

Lemme ask are you a fan or member of APC.

Lastly if I may ask, what is the name of that your university and department who recorded E for you in about 4 courses you didn't registered for in a semester because I need to blow their whistle gringringrin

maybe because God wanted a better life for me. i did direct entry to enter the program. chemistry education unilag and in my final year. my then departmental hod (dr busari may her soul rip) introduced a software for results calculation and as unlucky as i cud get. thw software operator went to record year 1 courses which i didnt do for me and put E along with a year four course which i did and scored C then recorded as F. u cud say my hometown witches followed me well. lolx but thank God cos everything in life has a reason for happening

.

There is 1 major difference - Her visa is valid while in Naija, so she could always go back in case of denial. Mine would expire in 2 weeks before I make the trip

If you attended some mushroom universities in Nigeria it's possible. I've seen students who took tests and had excellent test scores but couldn't take exams, in one stupid university like that I once attended in Nigeria, eventually only test scores were recorded as F. In fact, lots of Fs.
Funny thing is that those mushroom universities won't paste results nor can you check what's on file till your final year.

Hello house, na wa o. I didn't even get one response to my previous post. Haba house.

This is my profile:

Undergraduate GPA: 3.2/4.0

GRE Score: 293

Work Experience : 6 years

I applied to the University of Connecticut for Fall 2017 and I got accepted.

And I was told that there was a waiting list for Teaching Assistant Position. It's almost three months now since I got accepted and the last mail I received from the Co odrinator said they department has decided not to give TAship to all incoming MS students and the present MS student.

This is my question: Can a department decide to withdraw TAship all of a sudden or is it just an excuse?

Abeg, Walspring and all the gurus in the house I need your input on this.

Thanks in anticipation.

I find this very hard to believe. Except you graduated in like year 2000-2003 o. That kind of thing can't happen in Unilag. What happened to CITS that your department HOD would have his or her own software. Oh so there's even a software to use, meaning you probably graduated between 2008 and this year. And CITS was functional then, post ume was even computer based. So in Education an HOD used software to spoil your CGPA and you didn't go to DSA or Senate or even the CITS. You're a joker sir. Sell another story. They changed 2:2 to third class for you and you're telling us cool story here.lol. Don't spoil Unilag's reputation o biko. People would start thinking HODs can make their own software to calculate GPA for them. HODs don't even record anything, the lecturers submit the result to the department and the department takes the results to the senate for approval. Mistakes like that can only come from CITS and it can't be that bad or else it'll affect the whole department in which case it'll be resolved. So accept your Grade and don't blame Software sir.

Ghen Ghen the ambassador for Unilag is in the house.. cool..... love the way you defending your alma mater grin grin

why i like people like you is that u always think people are lying when u havent heard of such a case before, well i graduated in 2008. chemistry education. you dont know me and i had no reason to put up the story. i only did when someone made mention of why someone had to do a second undergraduate. well i did a second undergraduate. did exceptionally well and still doin fine till today. but saying i sud accept my grades and not blame the dept. i wont take that from u. if u feel am lying. contact me personally and İ will show u my transcript and u will have to come to the thread and apoligize cos u clearly said words u knew nothing about
