elampiro: You yourself knows Eufa is a joke! Lmao. A player made 70% pass rate with little forward passes while the whole team parked the bus banking on a long ball tactic. So, who made the long ball tactic work in the first place? Herrera? In fact, I loves how Herrera is getting the accolades. At least, opposition would start focussing on him as well as Pogba and let's see how long it'll last. We already saw what happened in the few matches without Pogba in the midfield to shield him this season. |

dopeJemi: Rooney was already a great player before scoring 20+ goals, unlike Griezmann who was recognized because he scored 20+ goals in two consecutive seasons. Rooney's 20+ goals were seasons apart. |

elampiro: So did Smalling last season. You know what? The few games without Pogba showed me one thing, which is, our midfield is still fucvking average, Herrera included because he played in most of these said matches. Not like Pogba has been great but his incisive passes and tendency to draw out many opponents to himself has been a refreshment in the midfield, not a bleeping Herrera! |

Diademk07: You can't even differentiate the POTY that Smalling won last year under your canopy be cause of the double vision you are seeing abi. Go back and do your research very well and differentiate the awards. Can Pogba perform without a player with good defensive capabilities? Even at Juve, were his good performances without DM covering for him defensively? In a nutshell, can pogba churn out good performances without a good defensive midfielder cover for him defensively? When Fellaini played with him early in the season, he was useless. |

tess1: Nope. Point of correction, he wasn't useless with Fellaini. In fact, his best display was with Felliani against Southampton. That the whole team had a poor match against City, a match where Felliaini was actually our best player but instead got blamed for Pogba's poor performance means jack! Prior to the match, we had plenty of good games. In fact, Fellaini allowed Pogba to express himself much more than Herrera did. And let me remind you that we have been playing little expansive football with Herrera in the team. We often had the whole team camped in our fuc.kking half. That's why Ibra often had to drop deep to help to initiate the attack with Pogba. That's why our wing forwards (Mkhi and Martial) had problem in the attck because they were more or less wingbacks in the setup! The point is it's not like Herrera has been this defensive warlord that people make him out to be, the fact is the team has been defending as a whole. Come to think of it, I have hardly seen Herrera take out an opponent and win the ball all alone, I often see him in group of 2 or 3 players cornering an opponent where he eventually wins the ball after much harassment by himself and others. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by tess1(m): 9:17pm On May 27, 2017 |
eph12: My question..... Whether 2 or 3-man midfield, can you play Fellaini in Carrick's position without Pogba's performance suffering for it? |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 9:28pm On May 27, 2017 |
tess1:No! Neither can/should Herrera. Didn't work. Pogba best games came when they were 3 in the midfield whether Fellaini was there or not. And I don't see Fellaini's name as one of those to leave old trafford this summer. Probably because Mourinho sees how useful he is to his style? |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by tess1(m): 10:02pm On May 27, 2017 |
Diademk07: And how was his performance against Watford who were just breaking into our midfield and defence anyhow? That combination turned Watford into Barca. A lowly Watford for that matter. That the whole team had a poor match against City, a match where Felliaini was actually our best player but instead got blamed for Pogba's poor performance means jack! Prior to the match, we had plenty of good games. In fact, Fellaini allowed Pogba to express himself much more than Herrera did You've said it all. He couldn't cover for Pogba defensively. What about against Watford? I think that was his last game with Pogba there because JM realised that he was useless playing with Pogba there. And let me remind you that we have been playing little expansive football with Herrera in the team. We often have the whole team camped in our fuc.kking half. That's why Ibra often had to drop deep to help to initiate the attack with Pogba. That's why our wing forwards (Mkhi and Martial) had problem in the attck because they were more or less wingbacks in the setup! Lololol! Canopy analyst....... Micki and Martial had problem because Herrera was in our team? Continue deceiving yourself. The point is it's not like Herrera has been this defensive warlord that people make him out to be, the fact is the team defends as a whole. Come to think of it, I have hardly seen Herrera take out an opponent and win the ball all alone, I often see him in group of 2 or 3 players cornering an opponent where he eventually wins the ball after much harassment by himself and others. He's not a defensive warlord but he has the highest number of tackles and interception in our team. How will you see him take out an opponent and win the ball on his own when you are so much filled with hate for him? 1 Like |

tess1: Learn to comprehend because all your response are just bullshite! No one stated that Herrera made Martial and Mkhi wing backs! Is he the coach to have made them wingbaacks? The main fault is on Mourinho. My point is with Herrera as his partner, Pogba was never allowed a free role like he did with Fellaini because the coach knows Herrera is an average DM. Should I remind you that Pogba position was constantly parallel with Herrera whereas with Fellaini, Pogba was often in front of him. The wing forwards also had to drop deep to defend also. So, why make the whole team fall back to defend if we already have "this best DM" in Herrrera. Who's exactly doing the defending? Should I also mention the fact that Herrera played on the side of Valencia who often work together with Herrera. In fact, it solidify my claim because I've hardly seen Herrera take out an opponent and win the ball all alone? |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by tess1(m): 10:27pm On May 27, 2017 |
eph12: Since Fellaini has been useless their, JM have used Herrera there in the few times we have played with two in the midfield with no fuse. Moreso, most of the time when we use 3-man midfield, Fellaini doesn't come into the equation. What does that tell you? And did I mention whether he'll be sold or not? Of course Mourinho sees him useful in more advanced position where we decide to go route one. No one is arguing that. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by tess1(m): 10:48pm On May 27, 2017 |
Diademk07: So, the coach ditched the combination that'll give allow Pogba free role and freedom to perform for the one that will resttict him? Do you even read what you type before posting at all? I'm still asking you what happen the Barcatford match where he made Pogba useless and made our midfield and defence useless? Should I remind you that Pogba position was constantly parallel with Herrera whereas with Fellaini, Pogba was often in front of him. The wing forwards also had to drop deep to defend also. So, why make the whole team fall back to defend if we already have "this best DM" in Herrrera. Who's exactly doing the defending? Pogba parallel with Herrera and not parallel with Fellaini.......(crap) Who is the more defensive and the more defensive player? That's where you'll separate their duties. Solidify ko, liquidfy ni........ |

It seemed a lot like in most the games Pogba, Herrera and Fellaini played together, Fellaini was the one with the free role further up the park. modified I also think Herrera beside Pogba; made Pogba better and not the other way around! 1 Like |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Diademk07: 10:55pm On May 27, 2017 |
tess1: Or possibly noticed how poor Herrera operates alone and had no option than to saddle Pogba down with him in the midfield. Better still, had our wing forwards come back deep to defend as well because he knows our midfield is quite average. Possibly why we often camp mostly in our half until Ibra drops deep to initiate attack with Pogba. Whichever ways, the point is Herrrera never operated alone as our DM whereas Fellaini did in his time! Kapish! |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Diademk07: 10:58pm On May 27, 2017 |
RuffRuggedRaw: We were talking about when the season started with Fellaini as our DM. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Diademk07: 11:09pm On May 27, 2017 |
RuffRuggedRaw: Pogba became a lot more disciplined with Herrera because he was more or less a no 6 himself. I'm still waiting to see a match where Herrera would play well without needing Pogba to take all the stick. Pogba did with Fellaini/Carrick. Even Fellaini has done well with Carrick this season but Herrera has totally looked shite in the few games without Pogba this season. The thing is opposition often turns their attention on Herrera when Pogba isn't in the team and that he can't cope with. |
