It's normal for professionals to got each others back when fuckups arises.


Music apart, I'm a professional but I won't disclose my field here and yeah, we got each others when we got any fuckups but blame secretly.

Diclofenac ke? Someone with sepsis, and a possibility of DIC? Diclofenac in a patient with possible renal complication? ( usually the first organ to go in sepsis is the kidneys, and you don't wanna do any nsaid otherwise you worsen the renal status). Paracetamol is still the safest. You can't go wrong with it.
You want to stay away from nsaids. Paracetamol is still the safest antipyretic in my opinion.

I gave 2g of IV cefriaxone (Rocephin brand) stat, and IV Flagyl 500mg stat. She was going. I called my seniors again and told them temperature is not coming down after one hour. I was told to give IV PCM 600mg stat. I then reopened the wound, washed with NS, and redressed with savlon and povidone iodine.

She was a Yoruba Christian. She was praying, holding my hands, saying that I should not let her die, that she still has little children at home. She then started behaving abnormally, talking irrationally and screaming, also convulsing intermittently.
At this point, I called a senior who came in, assessed her and told me privately that she won't make it. He told me to continue masterly activity which I did.

She finally died after few hours she was brought in. I certified her dead in her file, disconnected all life support, and went to my house to sleep around 3am when the call got less busy. I was weak and sad. Did you know, this woman followed me home. I was shocked when I felt there was someone looking at me from my window. My body was shaking. I've never believed in ghosts, but she came to my window and stood there, with same clothes she was wearing when she was brought in. She said why did I allow her to die. I was lost for words for a moment, thinking I was dreaming. But damn, it wasn't a dream. I just drank coke from the fridge few minutes ago. I rebuked her in Jesus' name, telling her I did my best. I told her to go back to where she came from. She stood there for a while, looking at me, then turned and walked away. I heard her footsteps as she walked away. I didn't sleep again till morning. I opened the fridge and took out coke and drank, to be sure I was not dreaming, then started praying in tongues to control the fear in my heart."

What can be a reasonable explanation for this?

From what I read here, he's not even a qualified doctor yet they allowed him to treat on a patient in critical condition.

Where were the senior doctors at that he had to call them on phone to seek for guardance..

I believe you. She must have been lost and disoriented. Wondering if there's something you could still do. May God grant her good passage o. Whew! So terrible!

I was once chased by a ghost too. I was way younger and she came from a naija movie I watched same day I saw her. She was so real...I still have leg injuries to show for it. It is well...may God keep us safe.

On a lighter note, op must be a fresh blood. Nothing wrong with informing your senior colleagues of a new case,and taking directives...... That was the right thing to do.
Choice of antibiotics too were the standard.
Just the anti pyretic that came too late.
Could have been one of the first 3 things to start with on her at presentation.

Lesson learnt, but u didn't kill her. Moreso, the 3days post op story is not likely to be true as we know patients and their relatives tell lots of lies just to save face and cover up the truth; common most times,and op will get to know this as he advances in practise.

To those calling for the doctor's head, stop it! Dnt comment on what u know nothing of.

In conclusion, the health sector in this country is begging for a complete restructuring.......things are not right. Most government owned hospitals in this country, including the supposedly big tertiary centres, are just mere consulting hospitals with little or no equipments. Empty buildings built by greedy politicians in a bid to siphon money, which are commissioned by people we look up to!
I hope and pray we get it right soon.

PCM 600mg IV was the even the wrong choice of antipyretic for the situation , he was dealing with toxic overload and introducing another toxin like PCM was wrong , best choice should have been diclofenac with a potassium base

The ghost experience can be best considered as hallucination.... Try to get your mind off it and ignore such if it appears again.... If it persist, you may need to see a psychiatrist.....
