The same way the English people hype theirs, remember Sterling, Wilshere and the others?

It's okay to hype what is ours (and in fact if we don't do that, who will?)

It's up to any player to live up to the hype the press or his people.

you just counted Wilshere? That lad is talented, if not for injury he would be a mainstay in the three lions.

Anyways the English team that hypes all the players how far have they gone? Group stage exits in all competitions, is that what we want?

And the truth is this: so far so good.... Iheanacho has lived up to the hype... he has done what few African youngsters will ever do.

He left his home and comfort zone in Nigeria and went to a foreign land at the Etihad campus in Manchester, England and bested all the finest young talents at City's disposal to become the face of Man City EDS... a Nigerian ooo... he did this as a Non-Uk citizen... no favors were given him... he fought for it and he got it.

He also became the first of many to break into the main stars-studded side of Man City and became a main stay in the team as time went on... Despite his many sub roles, he still managed to become Man City's Third highest goalscorer in the 2015/16 season behind only Aguero and I think De-Bruyne...

He displaced Then Most expensive African signing, Bony Wilfried and also became the most lethal finisher in EPL history.... the best clinical rate ever seen for a player with 10+ appearances...

Mbappe has the luxury of growing near home.... France is his home and comfort zone.... he was under no pressure. So why won't such an environment enable him to just focus on his super talents and shine huh?? Why make a big deal out of it!!!

Abegiii.... Mbappe and Iheanacho are practically on the same level on the overall as both are reputed as two of Europe's finest young players.... take it or Leave it....

So much for not wanting to say it as it is.... smh.

I prefer Etebo playing AM to CMF in the SE team....Then Mikel in the cmf position..... what do you think, forumites?

well Etebo is a lot more mobile, putting Mikel in the cmf position might not be the best option

I take issues with this comment. However, let me not start an issue but for the record, Igbos are hardly ever tribalistic, taking pride in your achievements isn't close to tribalism at all, don't base your judgement on some rag-tag youths jumping round the internet

Guy,there are tribalistic people in every tribe. And those "rag-tag" youths are Igbos engaging in tribal hate and feud just like Forgiveness and his fellow Yoruba team of hate mongers.
There is something mentally sick about a person who maltreat another man or denies a man what belongs to him just because he is different.
Look at how screwed up Nigeria is and people have time to be spewing hate and spreading bigotry.

the hype in this comment is absurd. Even Mbappe and french fans would be weary of making such comments about their (well let's be honest) more talented lad. The way nigerians hype their own makes you wonder

I don't believe and I will never accept that Mbappe is more talented than Nacho. Mbappe is a French man with all the support and opportunities to excel placed on a platter of gold for him on his home land. And what has Kelechi got,no even a place in Pep Guadiolas bench and you expect him to shine. Guy,chill out.
Pep Guadiola made sure he ripped Kelechi of any little confidence left in him.

thank you for that statement. I get it now, it's just your opinion although you know that factually it is false, I mean this is Mbappe's first full season as a pro, Iheanacho's own was last season and there still isn't any comparison except if you consider game time because both of them played almost the same number of minutes

Bla bla bla.... Yet a German site carried a report on Dortmund's interest in Nacho. smiley Now they have shifted focus to Schik of sampdoria coz they don't fancy paying that much for Nacho. Simple as that.

And Owngoalnigeria was not the only site covering the news... dailymail, MEN, Talksports, Dailystar, and many more also mentioned at different times the various interests pouring in for nacho... latest of which is PSG.

You are just doing the best you can to pour cold water over Nacho's top top quality but here is a news flash... IT IS NOT WORKING grin

People here are well informed aiit.... so carry your hero worship of everything foreign in the strikers' dept to another thread and feel comfortable aiit... wink

You speak of last season's UCL loolll... Nacho's first appearances in the UCL (a one minute cameo vs Dynomo kiev followed by one other cameo before his surprise intro against Madrid) and then he was brought in against the best club in the world, Kings of Europe, Real Madrid (that must hurt knowing you are a barca fan... a diehard Barca fan eh.... and ofcos you will still argue this fact.. Loolll)... prior to that game and even after that game he still had the best goals ratio in all of Europe... wanna check it out yourself?? Looooollll
.... Even C.Ronaldo was very much aware of Nacho and went to mark him himself when City had a last minute corner... looollll

So why blabbing on last season? Even this season.... with less time, he has two goals in the UCL.... scored in consecutive appearances. So what are you yammering about?? Looollll

So much for not rating a lad that is so good.... one day you will tell the world what you have against Mikel and Iheanacho. Hahahahahahahahaha... coz your dislike for them is just too much.

And yes oooo... Nacho takes less time to make an impact off the bench compared to Mbappe.... judging from last season and this season... stop taking long shots and just deal with it. Mbappe comes in around the 60-70mins mark on average and Nacho comes in roughly around the 82-87mins on average..... yet in only four starts in the EPL he still garnered Four goals and three assists.... in far less time.

And it is not in my mind that Nacho is the Brightest prospect of his generation in the Nigerian team.... it is based on what we are all observing and seeing together.... it is only that you refuse to see the truth coz you just don't like and rate the lad.... Hahahahahahahahaha....

And who is deriding another player?? Me?? Is it me you refer to? or you just adding that to make your points have meaning?
Looollll.... Who am I deriding?? tell me... coz no one here can hold that against me.... that is a fact. wink

Players better than Nacho? Oh plssss... here we go again... you just water down Nacho's super quality so badly so that some other player on the Super Eagles will get more of the spotlight....

Look... Sir Mickael2... if you wanna talk football... plsss talk football... and don't do it with subtle prejudice.

Thanks for your attention. smiley

Mickael2:

Even last season when Nacho had the chance, his stats were nowhere close to that of Mbappe and Mbappe has played more games as a winger. Last season's UCL, what was Nacho's contribution? 1, 2, 3 offsides against Madrid and he did get game time so don't go there.

Ok you mentioned all these clubs as reported by owngoalnigeria. Let me repeat that for emphasis OWNGOALNIGERIA, yeah quite a reliable site. Every single day I browse through skysports and other notable sports sites and the only club coming for him is West Ham and previously Hoffeinhem, Dortmund did not want him and that was why they rejected the 90million plus Nacho bid Man city tabled, to show you that I have been following that up but I didn't want to bring you down from that your cloud nine.

Nacho takes 5 mins to make an impact? Let me not start, just a word of advice, go and check how many goals Nacho has scored as a sub compared to Mbappe then come back on your knees and admit the truth.

And finally, Nacho might be the brightest prospect(in your mind atleast) of his generation, that doesn't mean he will turn out to be the best. I have seen you guys deride other players that are presently performing better than him, I wish the young lad the best but the truth is that he is a good player but nowhere close to the likes of Dembele, Mbappe or Gabby J

Just like your statement about Mbappe being better than Iheanacho is your on personal opinion without facts. I hate going back and forth but Mbappe has played more minutes than Iheanacho and he is a French man playing on home turf with the support of his country. This is common sense. Iheanacho can't become the world best from the bench or drilling field.

Kayode also won Best player in Austria ooooo.... top scorer and MVP of the Austrian Bundesliga... Wow! Congrats Man... smiley I know I have dropped similar news before... but plsss allow me... I never knew he was MVP.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eagles Ace Olarewaju Kayode Wins Top Scorer & Bundesliga Player Of The Year Award

Super Eagles forward Olarewaju Kayode has been voted the best player in the Austrian Bundesliga following his spectacular showing for Austria Wien.

The 24 year old also finished as top scorer in the league with 17 goals, with 7 of his other goals coming in other cup competitions.

He scored five goals in the Europa league and two in the Austrian Cup to wrap up a fine season, which earned him national team call up.

Presently he is in the camp of the senior national team of Nigeria in France, where they are preparing for their upcoming AFCON 2019 Qualifiers clash against South Africa.

Kayode is expected to get his second cap when Nigeria take on Togo in a friendly game on the 1st of June after missing their Friday game against Corsica due to club commitments.

Another long argument is imminent cheesy
Mind you sirs, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion and no one would change that!

As a madridsta, my friends always thought I would say that Ronaldo is the best player ever born, Nop!!
I knw Ronaldo is good but i rate Messi higher, that's my opinion and I won't crucify who thinks otherwise.

Concerning Iheanacho and Mbappe, I'm afraid to say I rates the younger lad higher at least for now!
It's just an opinion.

Kelechi is not bad either but I don't and never believed that two things can be equal, one MUST be better.

Udo diri unu!! cool

Like Nwobodo, Like Muazzam.. We have seen their ability at youth level. I would not advocate for a direct national team place for an NPFL player unless they prove themselves at a higher stage, whether at CHAN, Caf competitions or at age-group teams. Why? Because we have seen many that flatter to deceive.

As regards Obaje, it is just my personal assessment. I am not sold on him. Yes, he will most likely be invited but I will love to see real youth at CHAN.

What does seeing them at youth level have to do with a super eagle shirt? Many players playing in Europe have flattered to deceive. Stop the slick discrimination, the boys are proving they can handle the heat so leave them in the kitchen.

ok let's put it this way. You said Nacho needs 5 mins to make an impact right? Nacho 54 pro games, 1500 minutes of football, 14 goals. Mbappe, 45 pro games, 2000 minutes of football, 26 goals, that's almost double of Nacho's total playing only 500 minutes more and somehow you told me that Nacho needs just 5 minutes to make an impact how is that so? Mbappe has scored more goals as a sub than Nacho yet you want to claim something that is totally false, why is that so?

Ok so Nacho came in against the European Champions and totally buckled, no shot on target just 3 offsides, Mbappe absolutely ran Man City ragged! Borussia Dortmund nko? A lad for the big occasion. How many goals does Nacho have against Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham the top 4 teams in England? Zero, but somehow you want us all to agree that he is better than Mbappe, and don't tell me crap about minutes played, you said he needs only 5mins to make an impact so I am judging based on your hype.

And this part is actually funny, you kept on reeling out sites that are absolutely garbage. What of Manchester evening news? Did they report this crap? What of Skysports, the actual owners of the league he plays in, did they report this stuff? Dailymail did not report this news at all but somehow you want to quote a 'german site', ok please send me the name of the German site so that I can confirm the authenticity of the site.

Mind you Mbappe is younger than Nacho but he has already surpassed him, the simple truth there(factually too) is that Nacho is NOWHERE close to Mbappe at all. He had a decent game. Had three chances. fluffed the first, got blocked on the second and a weak shot from distance on the third. Given that it was his first game, he was ok.. His team lost though.

Mbappe is about the 2nd best young talent in the world but iheanacho is not far away from him they are very comparable, and as for Gabby J I have not seen any goal he has scored for mancity that is beyond iheanacho, the difference between him and them is that they are playing for coaches who believe in them, and kelechi wasn't, I pray he goes to a club that will give him 90 mins constantly then u will see how good he is, iheanacho has proven himself in a stronger league, playing lesser time, scoring in the derby, he also got champions league goals in his cameo s I dare say he would have matched mbappe for champions league goals if he had same minutes.
We need to respect and appreciate greatness when it is closer to home.

Maybe not but I will always invite an NPFL player with that amount of goals. Playing in Nigeria is not easy and if everyone stops playing in Nigeria we would have no league. The coach can't easily fly to Malaysia to check if the player is the real deal or not but what is the excuse when the player is under ur nose?

hahahahahahahaha. Hang on, you actually believe that Iheanacho is anywhere close to Mbappe? Even Gabriel Jesus is more talented than Iheanacho not to mention Mbappe! No offence to Nacho but he is NOWHERE NEAR MBAPPE, for once I agree with Goldfish on this

besides if I don't like his opinion I believe I have the right to differ

You really can say this?
I have watched Gabriel so far this season and noticed his goals were still the same iheanacho would score.he misses badly too.I saw the disappointment on sane and de bruyne's face against Everton.Iheanacho is a game changer, remember how he took the Manchester derby?

Yawns**

Buhuhu.... loooollll.... Nacho's impact is immense off the bench... In the most intense and most physical league in the world... Mbappe plays in ligue1... EPL and Ligue 1 are definitely not mates... wink

How many starts did Mbappe make compared to Nacho?? Hasn't Mbappe made more starts compared to Nacho?? Story story... abegiii... These yammerings are getting too irritating.

Nacho hasn't scored against the top 4 in England... looollll ... I laugh.

Oh and the 500 extra minutes there equates roughly to 4 games, even if Nacho scores a hattrick in all 4 extra games he wouldn't even be close still
