Biafra: Why I’m Fighting For Secession Of Igbos From Nigeria – Nnamdi Kanu by KingGBsky(m): 10:12am On May 31, 2017
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, says the demand for the secession of Igbos and the entire South-East from Nigeria is because Nigeria is not functioning well and can never function.
Kanu said this in an interview with Al-Jazeera, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Biafran war on Tuesday May 30.
In a chat at his Father’s house in Umuahia, Abia state, Kanu said “Nothing seems to be working in Nigeria. There is pain and hardship everywhere. What we’re fighting [for] is not self-determination for the sake of it. It’s because Nigeria is not functioning and can never function.”
Kanu who was granted bail last month, says he doesn’t care if he is flouting one of the terms for his bail which prohibits him from granting media interviews.
“I don’t care. I can’t go outside to call for a press conference. I can’t go on Biafra Radio to broadcast. I can’t allow large [groups of] people to basically congregate outside to see me…it’s like asking me not to breathe,” he said.
Kanu decried the perceived marginalization of the Igbos in Nigeria, saying that they have been prevented from aspiring to assume important positions in the country such as President, Inspector General of Police, Chief of Army Staff amongst others
“I’m not allowed to contest for the presidency of Nigeria because I’m Igbo. I’m not allowed to aspire to become the inspector general of police because I’m Igbo.
“I’m not allowed to become chief of army staff because I’m Igbo. What sort of stupid country is that? Why would any idiot want me to be in that sort of country?” he quipped.

Afonjas Lagos-Ibadan Expressway media cleverly altered his interview with useless headline as if he is clamoring for only Igbos. Our people, you must be very clever about this people if not you will miss the subtlety(hidden message) in their message inserted to divide SE and SS.

Pure concoction, Nnamdi Kanu have never and will never make such statements. Nnamdi Kanu is not fighting for secession Igbos, He is fighting for the restoration of Biafra. Tell those attention diverters to seize breathe because no one cares about them.

Just imagine the victim mentality he is exhibiting, if he actually said that.
is there any time he aspired and bought form to stand election for any political office and was denied the opportunity and not voted for?

That is how some feeble minded will clap for him for making such misleading and false statement.

He means that you will not vote for him simply because he's Igbo. He is making a point if he actually said that.

And Afonjas voted for Ojukwu?
Btw will Igbo votes alone make him a president?

How would he know that when he has not even declared his honest intentions to hold a political position rather he bad mouths everyone and every other tribe?

You see, I don't share in such myopic and narrow minded assumptions that you won't be voted for simply because you are Igbo.

He is talking from what he's experiencing around him. I don't think he's myopic, he's just stating the obvious. That may change tomorrow, but for now, it's the fact. The reason people like obasanjo is now calling for the Igbos to be "given a chance" at the presidency. Who does that if Igbos also have a fair share of the presidency in reality?

That is just the reality on ground, no need shifting grounds on this one. Igbos are being marginalised from the on set after the civil war.
There is a conspiracy between the northerners and the Yorubas against the ibos politically.
That is a proven fact. Simply what we have seen from the civil war till date.

He knows he's lying but thats the only way they think they can win since time immemorial I noticed : TELL LIES AND TWIST THE TRUTH AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

I too used to feel bad for the ibos, but the more I was briefed about your country's history before my transfer over there, the more I realized the folly in taking them at their words. They just seem averse to the truth or not playing victim (even when they are the initial aggressors).

Well, your question seems polite so let me politely educate you. Secession means carving out from existing entity; but restoration means restoring back an entity that had existed in the past before it was either dissolved or forced into fraudulent unity with other entities to become one just like you frequently hear "One Nigeria". You can never hear things like "One Oudua" "One Arewa" or "One Biafra" that's because they're naturally existing unlike Nigeria that was forcefully merged with three different entities in 1914 to become the Nigeria of today which have expired though. If you understood thank me later.
