If you’re an entrepreneur or investor looking where to invest your money with good returns, the following are smart investment opportunities in Nigeria that you can leverage on. Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency, shares 4 smart investment opportunities in Nigeria that you can take advantage of.

Livestock Farming

This is one of the fastest growing business opportunities in Nigeria especially with the federal government’s ban on the importation of live or frozen poultry beds. It’s generally a booming business in Nigeria and with the 170+ millions mouths to feed, there will always be demand for livestock. The major challenges of this venture are lack of technical know-how and use of crude equipments, which hampers the industry’s growth, however if you have the adequate knowledge and patience to nurture this venture, you will reap immensely.

Sewing Specialized Uniforms

There are over 500 schools (crèche, primary and secondary) in Lagos alone and that number is still on the increase. These schools need uniforms and you can be the one to provide that. Aside educational institutions, individuals and corporate institutions also need uniforms for security personnel and staff, even military, paramilitary and non-paramilitary organizations need uniforms. You can position yourself to supply these uniforms and make good money from it.

Real Estate

People are always going to need homes, apartments, residences, office spaces etc. Rather than piling your money up in the bank, invest in real estate. You can buy a land in a good location, give it time to appreciate and sell at a much higher price, or rent out an existing property. If you don’t want to go through the ups and downs of running a real estate development business, you can simply invest the development of shopping malls, residential apartments, events and conference halls etc. Some real estate consulting firms that can help with this are Cappa D’Alberto, Whitebricks, Propertylink Real Estate Investment Limited, Elegant Court etc.

Daycare Center

It is surprising that more people are not leveraging on this business opportunity considering the increasing demand for quality child daycare services. Both parents are now working harder to generate enough income to keep the family going, thus increasing the demand for these daycare services. Yes there are a number of daycare centers but not many are of the exceptional and reassuring quality most parents are looking for, that’s why many parents will rather leave their children with a relative. You can leverage on this and come into this venture with exceptional service, recommendations and quality to help you stand out positively. You can start small as a small-scale babysitting service or nanny agency and expand to a full-scale childcare center.

There are many more unexplored investment opportunities in Naija yet to be tapped into.
We are blessed with human and material resources in this country....
There should be enabling ground for these resources to be harnessed... embarassed

Totally agree. And for those saying capital/financing is the problem, try having good ideas about the respective field and look for people to invest in you.
This looks hard too but it's easier than financing all yourself and there are some livestock project you can start with as little as #200,000 .00k

Blessed beyond measure,if only the youth would have a voice and get rid of these ancestors in power who want the youth coming to meet them for the most mundane reasons. God help us

Nice one. Custom Mall, a New Lagos startup www.custommall.com.ng should be No.5 on the list. I understand that they are opened to investors.

Custom Mall, a platform that redefines Self-Expression has launched in Lagos, Nigeria. The founders describe it as “A Platform for Harnessing Africa’s Creative Energy for Socio-Economic Benefits.” Besides being a platform for self-expression, Custom Mall is out to support and promote entrepreneurs in the creative industry.

Custom Mall allows individuals to customize and order items like T-shirt, Kitchenware, Traveling bags, Chocolate, Throw Pillows, Jersey, notepads, complimentary cards and even cakes in surprisingly easy steps. Customers also have the unique opportunity of previewing the end product as soon as they are done adding their customization details, making CustomMall arguably the first startup to deploy this revolutionary technology across all product categories in Nigeria.

How to Customize and Order
1. Visit https://custommall.com.ng
2. Locate desired product and Click on Customize & Buy button
3. Provide customization details and place order.

Need Help/Enquiry: Call +2348035257749, +2348122348491

The opportunities for making revenue on Custom Mall include:
1. Co-designing of Products: Graphic Artistes, Fashion Designers and individuals with trendy and unique designs are invited to share their ideas with Custom Mall by sending them to creatives@custommall.com.ng. The designs are then reviewed and evaluated by the Custom Mall Products & Designs Team.

If the design is approved and attached to a product which is listed on the CustomMall platform, the designer earns 5% on every sale made on the product -a lifetime income stream! This has been tagged “Design Once, Earn for a Lifetime”. As soon as a design is approved, a Custom Mall representative gets in touch with the designer and shares a link of the product with the designer. For example, if a Designer has his design approved and listed on the platform to be sold for NGN 2,000, he/she would earn NGN 100 each time the product is sold; this amounts to NGN 100,000 when the product sells 1000 times.

2. Co-Creating, Showcasing and Distribution of Products: CustomMall is typically built for Creative Entrepreneurs - Fashion designers, Tailors, Bead makers, Aso Oke embroiders, illustrators, Ankara Craft makers, Cake bakers etc. Individuals and organizations who make customizable products (products that enable end users choose their preference -color, size, style, pattern, name e.t.c) are encouraged to showcase and sell their products on CustomMall – www.custommall.com.ng. If you fit in this category send samples of your products to creatives@custommall.com.ng

3. Idea Sharing: Custom Mall encourages individuals to share out-of-the-box and unique ideas with them via creatives@custommall.com.ng, in an event that the idea is adopted; the idea pitcher earns a royalty from CustomMall.

4. Product Supply: Vendors who stock quality customizable items at competitive rates are encouraged to partner with CustomMall. Indicate interest by sending a mail to info@custommall.com.ng

5. Service Providers: This category refers to individuals and organizations that provide customization services e.g. printing on shirts, bags, embroidery services, engraving services etc. CustomMall invites individuals in this category to share samples of their works via info@custommall.com.ng

In collaborating with Creatives, CustomMall provides value-added and support services to individuals and businesses that do not have the means of taking quality images of their products. They also promote them on their platform and social media channels. Custom Mall holds a great promise for creative African entrepreneurs.

Armed with a road map for training, internships and scholarships programs for the creative industry, Custom Mall is poised to creating 2 million jobs within the next 24 months.

Share this opportunity with your loved ones and the creative people you know.
