i it seems the OP is new to gaming or he's probably mixing up gameplay with story line. if he didnt start game with family com i will understand... let me give u just a shade...

If its about story line then he has no idea about games with Sequel (continuation)...

god of war starts from 1-4 (Ascension) then its still got some in PSP diffrent from PStation mode.
Resident Evil 1-6 without adding racoon city
Silent hill 1-6
Prince of Persia, twin thrones, devil within, sand of time, forgotten sands
Devil May cry 1-6
Tenchu 1-3(wrath of heaven) it actually stopped in PS2
Metal Gear 1-5...
Fear effect - 4 CDs in PS one.
Grand theft Auto 1-5
Uncharted 1-4
Final Fantasy 1-15
Then u can bring ur - Last of Us
Far cry 1-4

As for me these are a few with good sequel and storyline

MAFIA 3 has one of the best story lines I've seen in a while,
