he is right to answer that way cos the question is not a yes or no question.If I went to check my balance or maybe to transfer money,how would I knw if the ATM is dispensing cash.Some people will ask you this boring question and after telling them that the machine is not dispensing cash,they will still go and try

And am on a queue, and someone asks me who's the last person, I l just turn and tell him/her that the person that just walked in now is the last and that's him

I don't find it annoying to answer questions. This is why customer service is so poor in Nigeria, it's a simple yes or no.
In short, answering questions is my talent.

If Nigerians queue properly, no one would ask you 'boring' questions.

its common with younger people, especially girls, i feel like everyone is looking for "epic reply these days"

sometimes you ask beacuse the queue is scattered, and you don't wan a case where someone comes in front of you when its your turn and says "bros na me dey here" fight go start....(you know how nigerians hate standing on queue, they prefer to book space).

at balogun the other day, long queue for atm, two girls dey the back, (looks like they came together) i asked "are you the last person(s)", they started looking round, trying to gesture with their eyes, probably trying to imply i was blind or whatever, i didn't even wait for them to finish fooling themselves their generation, just asked the other guy standing close by under a shade, he said no, asked another person, said yes and stood behind him.
in the end had to use another atm.

Its easier to be polite than to be looking for epic reply. its does mumungo slay queens that will come online and be asking for what to reply to "are you the last" as if "yes and no" went on strike

I said madam dis is a very normal question virtually every Nigerian asks. She said she will correct anybody who ask if she is d last... I later realised she was just trying to transfer aggression. I comot my 1k delete from dat zone.. no time

I also ve qualms wth that phrase "are u the last person" I mean hw about just completing the sentence "are u the last person on the queue"...nobody wants to be the last person homies.

Most Nigerians don't see that question as ordinary... I have had two separate experience.

I went to the ATM, there was a queue but people were scattered around, as usual I asked, please ma aelre you the last person on the queue? What was the response from her?

She said God forbid, she can never be the last in her life, in all her endeavors in life God will not allow her to be the last.. I just weak they look ....


The second one na inside bank.. I dey queue, this man just come ask me are u d last on the queue I said yes... Next he said OK I here then.. So I said u are behind me then... Who say make I talk that one.

Na so the man say God forbid... He can never behind me in life... That he will always be ahead and not behind that I should not say that again, that do I know the spiritual implications of that statement?...

I just tell the sorry no vex, but let's see if u will be ahead of me to the casher.

most of you folks just saying simple question as if we don't know how Nigerians like asking rhetoric questions and it's annoying most tyms especially when u're not having the best of days.
