In 1966, The Hausas demanded to leave Nigeria, An Ibo man Late Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi Ironsi said NO and issued singlehandedly Unification decree 34.
In 1967 various interpretations of Aburi accord lead to out break of Nigeria civil war, When the Ibos want to go away.The Hausas said NO. Hence Ojukwu declared a break away from Nigeria and war burst out.
