In as much as I don't condole violence and covetousness, to an extent I'm in support of not burying the woman in that house. It was stated that the woman took loan to build to that level, so tell me who will complete the project? It will just become another abandon project if she is buried there. Solution is to bury her in a burial ground, sell of the uncompleted project, pay off the debt (if any) and give the balance to the husband. (Eni ni eru lo ni eru). No matter what the relatives say, the husband and wife were bound by marriage and that can't be broken (unless there is a Will from the deceased) |

Zither:You have no idea, what you are talking about! Just see the way you jumped to a silly conclusion, without any supporting evidence! I have quoted a part of the story below, to explain what is going-on for people like you: The incident, which took place at Oke-Andi area of Ilorin, Kwara State, sent tongues wagging as to why a cleric would take such a step over a woman that was married to him for 17 years and had four kids before she died. There were speculation that the cleric had attempted to sell the uncompleted property and was concerned that burying the woman on the site would discourage prospective buyers from the property. From the above, it is obvious that there is enemity between the Pastor (Husband) and the family of his wife. But his wife, is his wife. Whatever thy have, are JOINTLY OWNED, in Law. Now, fast forward. The Wife is dead. The family wanted her buried on the land she bought while alive and a wife to the Pastor. Question is: Why did they insist that she must be buried on that particular piece of land (when there is a Cemetery in place). The answer lies in the fact that those family members are looking for a means to start trouble with the husband so they can claim that land. What is their business with where a Husband buries his wife or whether he wants to sell the land, thereafter? If it was the Man that died, is that how they will be preventing his wife from disposing-off some of his properties, is she is in need of money? Or is it not money that would be required to bury him and look after the children left behind? The Pastor is wise, IMO, because why make the land un-buyable by burying the dead owner on it? These same 'family people' will not bath an eyelid, to sell the lace, once they lay their hands on it, and will exhume the dead woman's body sharp-sharp. And YES, the living spouse has full control over the property of his deceased spouse and is empowered by law, to do as she/he wishes on them. Those GREEDY family members should feck-off and stop putting their nose into other people's property. Lazy ingrates always waiting for someone to die so they can hoover around like Vultures, to come and share property left behind |

Most couples in Niagga are enduring their relationships and not enjoying it. Aso quitting your marriage is harmful to the next generation that God has entrusted to the care of both of the parents. I believe that the siblings of the woman are taking it too far. it's good for them to be in good understanding with the husband of the woman before deciding a burial place and insisting on burying her there. At the same time the pastor would have allowed them go on with their madness, as he will still sell the property after all things. And use the proceed to nurture thein own children. |

Daboomb:Where was the irresponsible husband when is wife died ? He probably got the news of the death from a third-party and suddenly show interest because a property was involved. |

I see nothing wrong with what the husband did... A property is not a burial ground! If he sells the property then what happens to the grave? Leave the man alone abeg these in laws are mad! |

please note the following : 1. no relationship is perfect 2 . the woman walked into error by acquiring a property in her own name(and I guess the husband was not aware initially) 3. unless you are tired, and ready to pull out, dnt ever portray your spouse negatively before your people. 4. finally, make sure you are in right standing with your in-laws, before you marry their daughter. IT IS BETTER TO MARRY A BAD WIFE WITH GOOD IN-LAWS, |

Loool see them ooo. Nairalanders are now saying whatever the wife owned belong to the husband and he is the one in charge since she's late, the same set of people will say they would make their brothers next of kin instead of the wife. So much for double standards I don't really like buring people on property anyway but why would he bring bouncers, why is it her family coordinating the burial not the husband something is wrong somewhere, the simple meaning is that he was not there for his wife when she was sick, shikena. He just heared about her death. I won't be surprised if it was the lady's family that has been taking care of the sick lady till she died and they decided to bury her there and Oga just came with bouncers because property is involved. Everything that happened speaks so much about the relationship between him and the in-laws. |

Daboomb:The man obviously abandoned the woman to die and afterwards came to claim her property. That man is evil! If not, why make a fuss about burrying the woman in a plot of land she struggled to acquire. I am pretty sure that if he had treated the woman right her people will not stand against him having the land, that is if their motive of burrying her on the was to stop the man from having the land. It might even just be a way of showing respect for her efforts in acquiring the land. Whichever is the case, the man doesn't deserve the land. |

dre11:Family members should learn how to stay clear from family issues, the man married your daughter legitimately and gave birth to 4-good kids to the man.........married is for better and for worse.......even if the man decided to sell the property it is their own....He might use the proceeds to trained the four kids left behind...i observe foul play from the family of the woman....trying to deny the man his right......its just a two way thing.......if a man dies the wife automatically inherit the husband property and vice versa so the woman family members should chill for the interest of the four kids......The man is fighting for his right not that he doesn't love his wife......they can bury the death in an alternative property |

hardeycute:"... Se..un is not enterprising still wallows in the 2000s" Thank God you guys (Nairaladers) are beginning to wake up. Management of this forum just ain't right. Note: You want to say the TRUTH and you expect a pat on the head ![]() No way! The follow up is usually fierce aggression from Admins and Mods; but then that's what fighting for TRUTH is all about -the ability to withstand repulsion. Nairaland seem to revolve (characteristically-solely) around "Seun the founder", an orbital axis that only portrays the majority of Nairalanders as intellectually unadventurous. This forum (created in 2005) expectedly should have long evolve past that kind of locality. Forget the BAN, shed the fear and always call a Spade a Spade. |

The report states that the woman was still servicing the loan before her demise, which means that the cooperative might exhume her copse and sell off the property in the future, the husband might be right in this regard; unless of course if someone wants to pay off the debt. |

Daboomb:You obviously can't read properly and in a haste to quote and comment wrote stupidly. Did you see that I wrote her sibling or child?Who else would she have made next of kin? Did you read the story at all to see she could not have made her husband next of kin? By the way,you thinking of siblings murdering each other tells the kind of family you come from, definitely not the type of mine. Your own case is no wonder your stupidity kills you. |

“She was head of choir and he was head of Youth team in the church,” the source within the family said, adding: “Our parents never approved of the marriage initially because the deceased just came home to introduce the man and insisted that she was in love with and that he was a good Christian. That was what made us to finally accept. We didn’t know there was a lot of abuse in the marriage until she gave birth to the fourth child and she began to speak about it Thats RCCG for you, head of choir, youth team and yet still a crook. |

Jman06:I am sure you dont know the meaning of the words you are using in constructing your sentences. When you use "OBVIOUSLY"..., yet you have not put anything forward, to show any connection between the Husband and How the wife died...and you say it is obvious? Are you an obvious Heediot"? Really, burying her on the land, as a way of "showing respects to her"? Are you a kid or some intellectually challenged? ![]() The family members might also have an eye for the land! They may want to seize and sell it. |

thorpido:Oloshi, Fraudulent Criminal trying to dupe people on Nairaland. You certainly can comprehend simple constructs! I know you are not educated at all otherwise, you will know that one spouse, is the next of kin of the other spouse, in a legal marriage. It is only dangerous women like you, women who cant ever have a peaceful home because they dont trust their spouse, that jump their spouse and make someone else their next of kin. Small time now, you will be crying like Mercy Aihigbe, when th eman panel-beat your oblong head. ![]() I am sure, in your warped, lack of brain matta, anyone who acts a thief in a film, is also a thief in real life. ![]() You need a brain transplant! ![]() |
