Laptop screens tend to collect dust, food particles and other debris that starts to look unattractive after awhile. It's important to use very gentle supplies to clean your laptop screen, since the LCD surface is easily damaged. Using a microfiber cloth and a simple solution of water will do the work.

Sometimes you seem to be unsatisfied with water. 

If you asked someone who knows a lot about cleaning computers they'd tell that cleaning your computer or laptop using methylated spirit or perfumes is one of the worst things you can do. But that's all because they've probably never used it in the first place. I always use methylated spirit to clean my computer and never had any issues.  

So what I do is wipe it off first with a clean cloth. Then I would get my methylated   spirit and soft cloth  and wipe off the screen and the keyboard.

Although, whenever I buy a laptop, a soft cloth almost the size of the screen is attached as part of the accessories, I usually lose the cloth few days later.

I simply clean the laptop with a damped woolly cloth, any effect?

As a website designer, I use my laptop for at least 14 hours daily both indoor and outdoor so im always faced with cleaning it almost every 3-7 days due to dust. I use this surface spray cleanser. It removes all the dust that have clogged on both my laptop screen and the keyboard. Then i use a clean cloth to wipe the screen, and for the keyboard, If the surface spray isnt available , I use methylated spirit

Apple macbooks come with a "care pack". So I just use that.

I use dry cloth for the screen and soft brush for the keypad.

I use my handkerchief with water and detergent

Try and soak white cloth In crude oil then scrub it on the screen as if you're scrubbing a very dirty rug. That will help. Nonsense nah everything una go bring come Nairaland.

Banana skin works well for me.

@bold! Why will your laptop collect food particles? Do you keep it or use it close to your cooking stove

There is a commercial PC/keyboard cleaning gel which could be ordered online. It is very effective. Just type keyboard cleaning gel to google.
