War crimes: We stand by our report – Amnesty International
By Ameh Comrade Godwin on June 15, 2017@dailypostngr

Amnesty International (AI) has said it is still standing by its report indicting top Nigeria military officers over war crime in the North Eastern part of the country.

AI media manager in Nigeria, Isa Sanusi was responding to summary of the report by the Nigerian military panel investigating the allegations.

Sanusi said, “We stand by the findings of our research and our call for an investigation that is independent, impartial and thorough; criteria that this panel clearly does not meet.”

He added that, “We maintain that the nine senior commanders named in our report should be the subject of an effective and independent investigation.”

The press statement said, “To this end we welcome the panel’s recommendation that there should be a Presidential Commission of Inquiry into these allegations of horrific war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in north east Nigeria.

“President Muhammadu Buhari promised an independent investigation into our allegations of human rights violations and crimes under international law two years ago. This is a vital step and must be implemented as a matter of urgency by the government.”‎

“Amnesty International’s priority is justice, human rights and the dignity of human life in Nigeria.

“We maintain that those suspected of committing human rights violations and crimes under international law on all sides of the conflict must be brought to justice in fair trials before civilian courts without recourse to the death penalty. We also urge the military to make the whole of this report public,” AI stated.

Amnesty international is an attention seeking bunch. The biafra protesters killed by the army are unruly and violent youths who were out to destroy the peace enjoyed by other Nigerias living in the east as commanded by Nnamdi Kanu on radio biafra. They burnt several dangote trucks, burnt mosques, shut down and looted markets and shops and even killed and threw security officials over onitsha bridge yet they claim they were having peaceful protest. Who is fooling who?

The shiites killed by the army were forming a government in kaduna state. They are rebellious and refused to recognize the authority of the state government and federal government. They blocked the convoy of chief of army staff turning deaf ears to all pleas and were even ready to engage the military. They only take orders from El-zaky zaky. Which sane government would fold it's arm and watch shiites and IPOB metamorphos into a full blown terrorist group before taking action considering the fact that we are still battling Bokoharam and Niger delta militants?

The Nigerian army's responsibility is to protect the lives and properties of nigerians and defend the sovereignty of the country. They have done just that and sane people consider it as a perfect job.

Amnesty international can keep whining about human rights abuses but will hypocritically turn a blind eye when the United States and other western nations commits atrocities. The US drone program has killed more civilians in Pakistan than the taliban they claim to be fighting. When Iraq was invaded, civilian casualties were on the maximum. Till today Libya is the battling the after effects of the invasion led by the United States. Amnesty international won't see all that. Bloody hypocrites.

Denying them visa will further proof that Nigeria is a police state.

The way some of you think and talk, shows the younger generation. will even be worse than Buhari if they get power.

The powers of those in authority is to protect and not to destroy lives.

Nigeria will remain cursed if the present attitude of Nigerian soldiers persist. And Nigeria is doomed if her citizens Continue to think and talk the way you guys do.

Do you think that if it was true that IPOB threw security officials into the River Niger, the Nigerian Government would not have published the names of these men by now? Who are these men that were thrown into the River? Are they police, Army, Navy? What are their ethnic groups? Where are pictures of their bodies? Whatever allegation IPOB has made, it has backed it up with videos, pictures and testimonies. So if you have no concrete proof that IPOB killed anyone except what you read online, dont make that accusation any more.

Also, the fact that trucks or mosques are burnt is not a good enough reason to shoot people. It is also a well known fact that IPOB only burnt Dangote trucks and the Mosque in Onitsha after the security forces opened fire and killed their members.

The Nigerian security forces are pathetic. When they come against armed opponents such ad Boko Haram and Niger Delta militants, they wont be able to do anything.

But when they come against unarmed groups like IPOB and Shia Muslims, that is when they suddenly remember where the trigger of a gun is located.

Very disgraceful

Stop all this sentimental rants and call a spade a spade. Did IPOB became violent by burning trucks and mosques? YES

Did IPOB incite the Igbo's to hate other Nigerians? YES

Did IPOB disrepected nigerians by calling our country a zoo? YES

Did IPOB call Buhari a sitting president a pedophile and a terrorist? YES

Do you expect the army and police not to kill such renegades? The army did a good job. Blame Nnamdi Kanu for your predicaments

Then you must accept that Nigeria is a backward, morally bankrupt, uncivilised country.

You see, in civilised countries, the security forces are thought that life is very precious and to use their weapons only as last resort when confronting unarmed people. So wether Someone incited another to hate or another called Nigeria by whatever name does not even come into it.

With other forms of non life threatening methods of crowd control such as water cannons, Teargas spray, rubber bullets and so on, the Nigerian security forces chose use live ammunition on a crowd of protesters.

Only a barbarian will support such methods. These things only happen in a zoological republic.

No value for human life in Nigeria. That is the underlying issue in all this.

Unfortunately for Amnesty International,
the world police(USA) has retired courtesy
of Trump.
So their report is pretty useless.
