Heard that in one of the ANC classes too, those nurses came to tell us about their fragrance free wipe and other products. It's called MILTON. Am planning to give it a trial tho.

Please has anybody used any of their products before? This includes milton soap, oil for breast cleaning, wipes, baby oil, lotion and powder.

I'm sorry you are going through so much in the Hands of your husband. Please Leave if you can. For sanity sake!
And do not attempt getting pregnant in that toxic environment!
I know it's difficult but you can take a walk from him.
If he is physically violent, contact a lawyer or check Due Process Advocate on facebook. If he hits you, take pictures.
You are stronger than he'll ever be!! Love you!

Giddyperson has laid it all out for you.
For the wipes get the ones without any frageance, and for sensitive skin.

Some will say cotton wool and water, but cotton wool just falls apart.

Alternatively you can use plain water and cloth wipes.
Either you can buy cloth wipes ( contact me for this and other cloth diapering items) or you can just use a small face towel dipped in warm water

Before you ask..... what of poo.... if you are cloth diapering, you just use the cloth wipes as a normal wipe, store and wash with the rest of your nappies.

If you are using disposables then you can get the worst of poo off with normal tissue and do the final clean with your damp face towel. Rinse off the face towel and wash with normal clothes.


Other things to note:

Motherhood can be an overwhelming experience. Do not try and be superwoman on outside whereas you may be falling apart internally. If you need any assistance, physically or emotionally, please ask for it.

Cook and freeze food in advance. Ideal foods are things that are one-step warming... eg. Jollof, porridge, and oven meals like lasagna, sheppards pies and casseroles if you are into that kinda foods.

Do not feel you need to see or greet people constantly if they come and see you. If you are sleeping you do not need to wake up, if you are tired do not feel guilty if you have to leave guest with your hubby and retire... you can use the baby for excuse. ( also make sure that hubby is around when you have visitors so you can bugger off if required) it seems selfish but any sane person will understand.

The first few weeks will be a blurr and a shock to your system, but you will overcome it and it gets better. If you have offers of help, use it. If you dont get offers.... ASK for it if required.

Lastly, just take it one day at a time!

Sorry for your loss. May God comfort you cos only Him can. Some mamas adviced you to go stay with your mom for the main time due to what your husband has been doing. There's no way you would have had bed-rest with him and his mom giving you issues. Why didn't you go nau?

MY BS

earlier during my appointment at the antenatal at the general hospital on may 31st , i was to b booked for CS at 38 weeks but i told d doc that since av not fallen into labour that i stil av 2 weeks grace at least besidez i nid to arrange for funds. i was told to do scan and bring it along when coming bak for the CS. i dodged and was given appointment for the following week


then on sunday 4th june evening i started feeling wet and slimy btw my laps only to check and saw bloody mucus. the contractions werent consistent but was coming and going.i felt happy since my ANT was d nxt day.

the next appointment which on on the 5th of june. i told d doc i had show and he checked and told me my cervix is closed and am in labour but not strong yet but he had to admit me.hw told me to go and bring my bag . i promised coming bak but i intended waiting til my labor was strong.


by night of dat same day my contractions was strong and painful .i couldnt hold d pains again.i had to go to the hospital immediately.


when i got to the d hospital, i was admitted and left to see if my labour wil sharpen but alas! my cervix was stil closed as at tuesday with serious painful contractions.d docs then that attended to me came around and started talking that av already bin booked for CS but i kept dodging.that my cervix bin closed is not a good.sign dat labour is progressing immediately i was told to get prepared for CS dat same day.

i didnt argue coz the pain was very serious. i was wheeleed into d theatre around 5:30pm on tuesday evening which didnt take more than 20 minutes.

my son was brought out and he was fed wit formula coz i was stil unconscious from d surgery .not long after transferring me to d recovery ward i started bleeding seriously which had to b stopped wit oxytocin evry one hr . i was resuscitated but weak.


gradually am getting better and am joyful seeing my son alive and being alive.tanks so much for all your prayers and assistance.God bless u all

I read somewhere that it depends on how large the incision was. I think your Gyn knows best. If he/she says CS then go with his/her advice. VD/CS The main thing is alive & healthy child, mother alive and father rejoicing.

Yes there is milton wipe, it's not too long they introduced it according to the nurse. It's 750 for one.

One Mama at the ANC swore by their soap (made with milk and calcium) and the milton set (powder, lotion and oil) she said that's what her 1st baby used. I want to try it.
