Wowww. Congratulations. Quite encouraging.

Minnienellie24:
Hello everyone,
I have been following this thread for a while now but as a guest and I must confess it has been so helpful.
My story its going to be a bit lengthy but I hope it would help and encourage someone.
Before I finally settled in the UK, I have been coming to visit since I was a child as my Dad was resident there then. I was not opportuned to be a British citizen because my mum happens to be a second wife that the british would tag to be a "mistress".

In 2014, I came to the UK for my masters and was really hoping I would get a company to sponsor me on a tier 2 visa. I contacted the CIUK after reading numerous success stories and they were so eager to help but unfortunately I couldnt afford the £4000 they wanted then and my dad was not so keen about it. in 2015, I was just going through the UK gov website when I saw that you can not be registered as a British citizen if your dad is a citizen and he is not legally married to your mum. This would only cost me £80 so i felt there was no crime in trying.

I told my parents about it and we all decided to give it a trial with my 3 other siblings. We had a DNA test done at Kings college Hospital to proof paternity. we submitted the application in september and got a positive response in december. we had our citizenship ceremony in January and applied for our passports.

Fastforward to this year. I got married and hubby applied for his spouse visa following the details in the thread. and WE GOT A BIG YES!!!
NB. I was working for an agency and I was been paid using the minimum wage for over 25. I was so skeptical about our meeting the financial requirement but i kept trusting God for the best.
Our timeline is as follows:

06 March 2017 - Submitted Application online and made payment.
10 march 2017 - Went for Biometric at VI and posted document to Sheffield using DHL
13 March 2017 - Documents received and signed for in Sheffield (Tracked this using DHL tracking number)
05 April 2017 - Automail requesting for supporting documents by sponsor. (Hubby replied using the Contact us link on their website)
08 April 2017 - Message from sheffield asking for reasons for escalation.
04 June 2017 - Decision made (Tracked this using the new link posted on this forum)
07 June 2017 - Supporting documents returned to me
12 June 2017 - TLS accessed and ready for collection
13 June 2017 - Passport collected with Visa.
ALL GLORY TO GOD!

Thanks a lot Bibra. Kids were born here in nigeria and have been issued theirs too after they renewed their father's . So no unpaid bill issue. Did my masters cleaned and left 6months before visa expired. So clean Slate by God's grace. About three visits in the last 5 years.

thanks a lot, I do appreciate your time. I'll leave you to pack now. It will be my turn soon in Jesus name.

Hi subomi2,
Yeah my son has his British passport along with his dad . I think it shows further evidence of a relationship .I attached emails and receipts showing the payments we made to the NHS when I gave birth.i think it can work against you if you have unpaid bills.

Yes it was priority application .I also spent 8 months in the last year in the U.K. Breaking my trip up by going on holiday .I explained why I stayed that long .I had a difficult pregnancy so I needed his help .

I think just explain everything to them .

Hello everyone in the house I need urgent advice
I am the sponsor here in UK and husband is nigerian citizen. I am a director of my own limited company and meet the financial requirement through salaries and dividend i receive which is over £19,000.

Here is our storyline we applied for settlement visa on 22/4/2017 and husband did biometric on 4/5/2017. We paid for priority service, I send my supporting documents on the 11/5/2017. I called them on Thursday and I was told I am at the last stage just waiting for decision. Yesterday I was reading online and came across evidences you need to submit if you are a director of a specific limited company. some of which I did not submit, I was very scared but trust in God. So I decided to gather some of the evidences with a letter which I send by special delivery today. I am unsure whether they will take this evidences as my supporting documents, I am really praying for a miracle, everyone pls pray with me

financial evidences I sent on 11/05/2017

1)P60s
2)Dividend vouchers
3)Director reports which show the amount of dividend payment I received from my company
4)Self assessment report which shows I meet the financial requirement through the salaries and dividends I get from my company. Category A and F
5)Original proof of registration with HMRC as an employer for the purposes of PAYE with my UTR
6)Personal Bank Statement – Santander Bank, covering the period from March 2016 to April 2017 same year as company tax return
7)Personal Bank Statement – Cashplus Bank, covering the period from March 2016 to April 2017 same year as company tax return.
coolI pay money into two of my personal accounts

New evidences I sent today
1)Cover letter
2)Business Bank Statement –Cashplus , covering the period from March 2016 to April 2017. (Company tax return period)
3)Evidence of company registration with Companies House
4)A current Appointment Report from Companies
5)Confirmation statement form companies house
6)Company balance sheet report( inculde report that company don't need to do an audit as a small company)

Documents I could not get

1) i did not have any payslips to show as I normally inform my accountant how much salaries I take from the company every week. (Accountant said p60 is enough to proof my salary)
2) i am not self employed so i did not need confirmation letter from accountant
3) i did not include company tax return CT600, accountant said it will take about a week to get.

It's a waiting game now. On certain applications, they seem lenient and request further documentations (they give you a second bite at the cheery).......

Let's see how this panes out......
