The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has received a formal petitioned from Senator Dino Melaye constituents. A total number of 188,580 out 360,098 totally voters registered in the outgoing Senator constituent have signed the petitioned . Six bags, which contained the signatures of 52.3 percent of the electorates from the zone and other petitions, were submitted to the electoral Commission, in Abuja...

Attached is the acknowledged copy of the petition received by INEC today in Abuja.

More importantly, men of the press were on ground to covere the historic recall of a Senator by his constituents in Nigeria.

This is the kind of awareness those politicians would never pray the electorates would ever have, so that the electorates would be perpetually subdued, pauperized in the society. I never knew that there is an opportunity for the pple to recall any ailing senator. This is an eye-opener. POWER TO THE PEOPLE.

If you have any thought process you will know that the Inec needs to verify every single signature against the bio data they have in their own data base and with the clumsy way the Kogi state govt paid all those people just to get them to sign there is no way the verification can go well except INEC want to hire Google to bring in its superior classified text to data optical recognition technology to help out ...this case is dead on Arrival but the good thing is that people have made small money from the signing jamboree

Politicians are answerable to the people that voted them into office. When they begin to act as though nobody can caution them then they need to be reminded that power lies with the people.

I don't care to know what he did wrong but his utterances and actions on social media shows that he is unfit.

Any politician no matter the level if they cannot deliver or are acting in a manner causing embarrassment to the people must be recalled or impeached.

This issue is simple. If more than 50% of those that voted you to SERVE them are saying they don't want you to serve them anymore.... What's the big deal? Leave their service to them nauuuu. Abi you get personal alubosa wey you dey chop for there ni?

most of the steps mentioned are not provided for in the constitution...

the constitution states, and i write this verbatim.

69 A member of the Senate or of the House of Representatives may be recalled as such a member if-

69(a) there is presented to the chairman of the independent national Electoral Commission a petition in that behalf signed by more than one-half of the persons registered to vote in that members constituency alleging their loss of confidence in that member; and which signatures are duly verified by the independent national electoral commission; and

69(b) the petition is thereafter, in a referendum conducted by the Independent national Electoral Commission within ninety days of the date of reciept of the petition, approved by a simple majority of the votes of the persons registered to vote in that member's constituency.


all in all according to the constitution only two steps are shown.

Remember, acording to Nigeria constitution as amended said that those that are signatory to this must appear before the senate to express themselves.

So Dino will be waiting for those that signed his recalling in the senate
