Good day house thank God for this forum and kudos to all the gurus in this house. I have a btech degree in chemical engineering with a second class lower division due to this I couldn't apply for an msc program in a canadian university. I'm applying for a pgd program in process quality engineering in conestoga college and I finished my nysc year nov 2016 and I'm currently in charge of my dad's company. I have upto $14000 CAD after 1st semester payment in my account and I will use my dad's pension statement which is upto 28million and his landed properties and also mum and siblings birth certificate as home ties. My question here is this can $14000 CAD be enough for me as a sponsor? And can I apply as me being the sponsor of my studies also? Cos I read the proof of sufficient funds to cover your tuition and living expenses for at least one year section in IMM 5832 E which states that in addition to tuition you should have at least $10000 CAD available to cover living expenses, an additional minimum requirement of $4000 CAD must be added if spouse or partner is accompanying the student and since I'm not married no dependant is accompanying me the $4000 CAD is not included and it lastly states that as well as CAD $3,000 per accompanying child or other accompanying dependant and since no one is accompanying me please will $14000 be enough? Please gurus ur swift response will be highly appreciated on this thanks. @Austinpee4 @CanadianNurse @jnyuwa02 and other gurus in the house please your response will be highly appreciated

They never said anything about linking at VFS, they just issued me a paper to use to come pick my passport ehrn its out. Must every paper applicant link their application or aren't they supposed to send me mail and ask me to link.

they won't send you a mail because linking your application is optional

The advantage is that you can see what is going on and what stage your application is in real time

A lot of people got approved without linking their app, it doesn't jeopardize your chances either way

It's helpful, necessary but not compulsory

Kilode. Chill now. You are the people not giving VO's time to work on peoples application cos they end up reading unnecessary mail.

Good day Nlanders, pls I have a question to ask?

I intend studying cyber security, diploma programme and according to my research,
most colleges have the course duration set at 3yrs.

Now as a fresh graduate, I learnt I can apply without having to write IELTS or any of those foreign exams....pls is this true if yes, how do I go about it?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4: 12:10pm On Jun 23, 2017
Hey guyz.

So i delivered the news and the young man was still filled with joy, shock and gobsmacked when i left. I also requested that i share his profile here as with the tradition to encourage others.

I don't have so much details about the previous refusals but 2 of the 5 were refused for insufficient funds, personal assets, travel history.

The last 3 were all purpose of visit and travel history.
I will give details of the last two and what he did differently.

Timeline for the last 2 application:

Profile:
Undergraduate, Petroluem engineering.
Work experience: 4 years as a well/exploration engineer.
Proposed program: master of engineering, chemical and petroluem engineering.

Applied- Nov 2016, refused 3 feb 2017.
Reasons: Purpose of visit, travel history.

Requested for gcms file. VO pointed out that program is inconsistent with previous study and employment history. Study plan not sufficient to propel additional knowledge. (dis one shock me o).

Last application: Applied April 5th with upfront medical.

Medical passed: may 2.

Approved :June 22.

Document submitted:
Sponsor: Father.
Statements of account of 25m and 12m.
Company documents.
Contract award documents
Sponsorship letter.

His documents:
Undergrad degree certificate (first class)
Admission letter
Certifications
Car particulars.
4 paged SOP
Visas from previous travels
International organisation membership documents.
Employment letter
Pay slips
Recommendation letter

Here is what was done differently between the two last applications.

After getting the gcms file, we paid attention to the officer's concern and noticed he/she could not establish a broader scope of petroluem engineering and his job role as an exploration engineer. SOP was written to open that horizon and give specifics on what he was going to do during his program, what he was going to do in terms of further research and how he intend to also develop a project that would solve the difficulty in oil exploration in the niger delta region since his company works there too.

He didn't give all these details in his previous application so i guess the VO who obviously did not fully understand the scope of petroluem engineering to include exploration/well drilling was quick to find his proposed program inconsistent with his job role.

This was well explained, program desirables were well outlined and future projects/plan/ research were all well laid down. And above all God himself was pleased with the effort made and had to give the officer more space for sense! grin

Like i personally would mention, These folks DO NOT completely know the details and content of some programs. If there is need to expantiate further, please do. SOP is to help open their mind to your purpose and NOT to tell them what is not already shown or seen in your application.

Blessings!

Madam too much questions......You asked the house to help you in linking your application to online and they all did. what else do you want mpok okay linking your paper application to online will enable you to see the different and quick timelines and update of your application progress. when you link you will see a place where you will be asked if you want to receive message from IRCC monthly or otherwise....you then choose what you want. example when i submitted in vfs for a week i didnt get any message from even VFS that my application has been submitted to Ghana. so please link and get up to date progress of your application and you will also be able to view whats happening on your portal. Thanks

I applied April 28, successfully linked my app today(after several trials) and got a status list exactly as in the screenshot posted by someone (attached below). I couldn't access the final decision tho and no messages have been sent to me yet. Don't knw if I should treat this as a delay.....so I can just move on.

Kindly explain what this means in straight forward terms.

Thanks
